Thanks everyone for your responses!! Yes, McBoo- I am on Day 3. My scale might be off since I usually have a different weigh when I get weighed at the doctor as well. I will keep following the plan and not worry too much! I just tried the little Medi vanilla shake sample they gave me and it was delicious!! The nutritionist told me it was only 50 calories for the entire sample in 6-8 oz of water. I put it in the blender and mmm

I used the WF Balsamic Vinaigrette last night and doctored it up a bit and it came our good. Not exactly bbq sauce but good anyway.

Sauteed onion and mushroom in Pam spray. Added 3 oz pork loin I had left over from the night before and heated it through. I added about 1tbsp (enough to cover the mixture in the pan) of the vinaigrette and stirred. Then I added about 1 tbsp Heinz Reduced Sugar Ketchup (5 cal per serving - 1 carb I think) garlic powder, onion powder, and grilling spice. Came out good and the sauce was thick like bbq. Didnt have the exact flavor but was satisfying.

Hope that helps.

here's the best one I have found.

KC Masterpiece® Classic Blend Barbecue Sauce

I wouldn't use it in the first few weeks but once you are doing well on the plan using it occasionally should be fine.

McBoo do you know anywhere in Ft Myers where I can find the EAS AdvantEDGE shakes I was going to try the GNC store and see if they had some good shakes, I would like to have protein shake for Bkf sometimes instead of cooking every morning it's not my usual routine especially when I am on the go.

I usually get mine at Walmart and my wife picked up a 24 pack of the chocolate fudge ones at BJ's Warehouse. I also don't like to cook in the mornings so I usually prepare my breakfast the night before. 2 oz egg beaters with a teaspoon of medium salsa microwaved for 2 minutes 20 seconds and then I store in the fridge and just pop it in the microwave in the morning for about 45 seconds. Add a slice or two of turkey bacon or canadian bacon and presto, breakfast is served!

FlaDiva,

Jon has it covered. Walmart and BJ's are the most economical places to get them. Publix and Sweetbay also have them but they tend to be a little more expensive. Make sure you get the EAS AdvantEDGE Carb Control shakes and not the EAS Myoplex shakes. The carbs and calories in those are very high.

So far, I have had the Chocolate Fudge, the Strawberry Cream and just a few minutes ago I had my first French Vanilla. They are all very good tasting to me. I think the Chocolate Fudge is probably the best of the 3 but really it is hard to say for sure as they all are quite good. I do chill them in the fridge for several hours before drinking them and make sure to shake them really well.

I have drank many different powdered protein shakes in the past and most were just tolerable with very few being tasty. These premade ones are byfar the best and I do believe I would drink them even if I were trying to lose weight or on Medi.

Just returned from my first week weigh in. I lost 9.6 lbs (oh so close to 10 lbs!). 6.2 lbs of that was fat loss, which I think is good. The clinic gave me Second Week Sample Menu, a list of healthy snack which I should have 2-3 times this week, and a Week 2 Medi Memo which tips and suggestions for this week. So far so good!

Hey, I ate 1/2 cup fat free cottage cheese with a little market pantry sugar free
on -the- go peach tea drink mix sprinkled on top. It was really good. I have never been a fan of plain cottage cheese I always cover mine in peaches so this mix made it more interesting.

Also like Jon said the calibration of the different scales can be an issue. I know my home scale reads 1.4 pounds higher than the one at the clinic.
Weigh yourself before you go to the clinc in the same clothes you will be wearing when you go for your weigh in and compare the 2.

When I was in the acute phase I didn't weigh myself at home only at the clinic.(One rule I actually listened to) Excessive weighing can lead to frustration that you don't need.

If you can try and stay off the scale until your next weigh in. If you are following the plan you will have the results you are looking for.

I know it is hard for some people to stay off the scale. I used to be one of them. I knew I was following the plan to the letter and it was one less thing to break my spirit and determination to succeed.

McBoo
Good Advice-- I found myself wanting get on the scale but I know all scales are different and did not weigh myself when I first got home from clinic
Following the plan to the letter! A bit hard but doing it- Thanks to all of you-- I am glad I found you all!Never did the support thing to hard headed -Not anymore!

Shameless product plug; just used the WF Hickory Smoked BBQ sauce on leftover pork tenderloin from the receipe thread. The sauce is really really good. Was good cooked and cold.

I found these protein shakes at Publix, store was out of stock on the EAS, read the label on these and was pleased. They come in a 4 pk of alum. cans, only two falvors right now one more coming this year. 110 cals 2 net carbs.

I have been under 500 every day (usually around 470 level). No one at my clinic has said anything to me. This week I feel like I may have lost a pound at most. I have been reading that a lot of people on here are losing up to 5 pounds a week. Since my first week I have lost 3.5 pounds a week. I am going in tomorrow...should I ask about consuming more protein calories do you think? I find if I go over 470 then I would be over 500.

Just wanted to say "Hi"... Another newbie here! I have about 40lbs to lose. Just finishing up Day 1... I was really hungry this morning, but actually had a hard time eating enough calories. Now that it is midnight, I am getting hungry again. I suppose that means it is time to go to bed.

The chicken broth really helped me today & I'm definitely going to get some AdvantEdge shakes... need something sweet!

teacherdli,

The 500 calories is the amount of lean protein and doesn't include the calories for the veggies/fruit. If you are eating 470 cals plus the veggies/fruit you should be fine. If it is 470 including the veggies/fruit you might want to run that by the clinic.

Also are you doing any exercise?
Good luck with your weigh-in.
Let us know how it goes.
