Do you have an Il Primo by you? If so, their wings are not breaded .... just FYI. And they are really good.

Hey Susie,
I know every Publix is different but there are a couple in my area and they both have Walden Farms products...they are just in a "weird" place. They are in the aisle with all of the bottled iced teas, peanut butter and gluten-free products. No where near sauces or dressings. Just wanted to make sure you checked that area unless you asked and of course they should know
My take on WD Farms products:
Ketchup is TERRIBLE (I am going to try the one-carb stuff instead)
Bacon Ranch Dressing--pretty good. I added it to tunafish instead of mayo or mustard as well as for salads and dipping.
Ranch Veggie Dip--aside from a gritty consistency, it is great for what it is (zero everything)

I think these products are a bit pricey so you don't want to buy stuff that will go to waste.

Good luck!

Go Gators ANnnnnnddd....have you ever tried cutting up grilled chicken and putting store-bought "chicken wing sauce" on it? There is one brand that has 5 calories and nothing else...except a lot of sodium. This is one of my favorite meals and reminds me of boneless wings.

No, just going for the celebration. I did 35 min of cardio this morning along with 35 min yesterday. I am not too worried since I am working out 5 x a week. Thanks

No but the wings I had last night were really small and unbreaded. I didn't use any blue cheese. Worked out a bit harder this morning and will also tomorrow. Thanks

What stores are you finding a good selection of Medi-safe products? I'd like to get a little more creative and thought for sure Ever'Mans would have some things but they lean more toward organic and gluten-free so I didn't find any miraculously low-carb items. ((I still want to find Miracle Noodles in a store...)) Have you tried Four Winds Gourmet? Not sure if there are any other stores that carry special stuff...there was a store in GB but I went there yesterday to check it out and it was closed! For good! Let me know....thanks! Destin to Perdido would work for me

The one carb ketchup (heinz) is really good. You don't need as much of it as regular ketchup - it's really ketchup-y .... but it's good.

I agree the one-carb ketchup is delicious. For BBQ sauce I prefer KC Masterpiece Low Calorie Classic Blend. Is is sweetened with Splenda and has 10 calories zero fat and 2 carbs. It is really good. The only place I have been able to find it is Super Target.

I haven't found any place either! I was disappointed in Everman's too - they have great stuff, but I thought there might be a low carb section - I spent alot of time in there looking through many products to see what the carb/fat/carlorie ratio looks like. I went on the netrition site (netrition.com)and bought some great items - expensive, but good. Still a bummer though, because you have to wait for it to arrive!! I also bought some of the Walden Farms stuff on EBAY - the chocolate syrup is very good, but the marshmallow creme is Nasty!

BTW - Do you know if Dr. Mitchell's office gives free shots in the mid week - they have never mentioned that to me. I am going to give them a call and see what I can find out.

I will keep looking for a place for us to shop - if you find anyplace between Perdido and Destin - please let me know too!

Have a super healthy weekend, everyone!!!

Thanks for the info! I am not sure about the mid-week shots. People on here always mention it but they never said anything to me about it. Living in Navarre, it isn't that convenient to go out there mid-week BUT if they are free and I am already in town, I would take advantage of it! I wish they would stock some of the hard to find foods and sell it directly...

Went for my weigh-in this morning. All my numbers, Fat mass, water mass and weight were identical across the board with my last visit on December 19th.

Overall I am pleased with this since I know I took a 10 day break over the Christmas and New years holidays. Now I just have to buckle down and work hard and hopefully I will break the 200 lb barrier before my next weigh-in on January 23rd.

Greatings All!

I have been lurking in here lately and have finally decided to give her a try! Being 478 pounds at the age of 45, I know I need to do something. I have been lucky that I am (as my doctor says) healthy as a horse, just get smaller than one! My 1st appointment will be January 23rd. Based on what I have been reading about the Medi Weightloss System, I started yesterday by just having 1000 calories per day by eating eggs, chicken, turkey, cheese, and fish. Along with a couple of Advantedge Carb Control shakes. I am starting with 15 minutes of stationary bike riding every other day and will up that by 5 minutes each week until I reach 30 minutes. I will then add strength training focused on core muscles. Sound like a plan?

You have made a very wise choice on the selecting the medi weight loss clinic plan. As you can see from the post here it really does work. The first week is the worst but once you get further into the program it will get easier trust me. It really becomes second nature. Being as large as you are your clinic may start you out on a higher calorie intake in the beginning.

The shakes you are drinking are they the Atkins shakes or the EAS shakes.
The EAS AdvantEDGE Carb Control shakes are excellent and have 110 calories per serving and 17 grams of protein and 2 net carbs and they taste excellent. The Atkins shakes have more calories and less protein and more carbs.

On this plan you will become an expert at reading labels.

Good luck and let us know if you have any questions. We are all here to help.

Jon,

Not bad with a 10 day break. Of course you know it is time to get back on plan. We want to see you in maintainance sooner rather than later. Your goal is in sight.

I am in small ketosis...day 4. I wonder if it has anything to do with the time of day you take a reading? When I did the program the first time around, I was in moderate by day 4 but was taking the first-thing-in-the-morning reading. Yesterday and today, I did it in the afternoon. I'll check tomorrow morning to see if maybe that makes a difference. I feel good and MY Tanita shows progress! My next appointment is Monday. I broke down and ordered Miracle Noodles today. I figure if they are as good as everyone says--then it wont be bad to have a case of 10 show up at my door

Todayyyyyyy:

B-6tbsp scarmbled egg whites and one turkey sausage patty
L-1/4 cup lowfat cottage cheese and 2oz Boar's Head turkey breast
Snack-3 small celery with 1 tbsp whipped cream cheese
Snack-17 turkey pepperoni and 1 Sargento light string cheese
D-7oz grilled chicken breast with chicken wing sauce

I really didn't need TWO snacks...the second one was at the movies and unfortunately was mindless eating. I brought it with me in case the smell of popcorn made me crazy

Miracle Noodles are basically guilt-free noodles:

Angel Hair Pasta

Servings per Container- 2.3
Serving Size - 3oz
Calories - 0
Fat - 0
Protein - 0
Net Carbohydrate - 0
Fiber - 2.5g
Sugar - 0
Protein - 0
Zero Net Carbs, Zero Calories

Ingredients : Water, glucomannan (soluble fiber), calcium additive.

Shirataki MiracleNoodle Shop!

Apparently you can treat them just like regular pasta and they will take on the flavor of whatever sauce or broth you add them to. A few others have commented on here about them. The website has a lot of info, too.

Rhonda,
Everyone's bodies are different. Some people never get to the moderate level because their bodies use the ketones efficiently. As long as you are losing weight and inches there is no need to worry about it. You are doing great. Enjoy your popsicle and try not to worry.

Apparently you can treat them just like regular pasta and they will take on the flavor of whatever sauce or broth you add them to. A few others have commented on here about them. The website has a lot of info, too.
AnneMe,

Make sure you rinse and dry them thoroughly. It is a very important step that you can't skip. Enjoy.

McBoo,

I have to say you are so good at looking back at all the post and responding to everyone. Kudos, kudos. You have such a knowledge base to share. I see you post the same info (especially to the newbies) over and over again. I just wanted to let you know how great I think that is and having been once a newbie (such a short time ago) I appreciate the effort. Please keep it up (as I know you will) because it makes a huge difference, especially in the beginning. I still look to you as the expert and will as I finish my weight loss and enter the maintenance phase. You could (should) be a medi counselor. Thanks for all the recipe ideas and all the misc. info you continue to bring us. I look forward to your post every day. You are an inspiration.

To the rest of you in medi land... thanks for all the recipe ideas and inspiration. It has really helped keep me going. I look forward to checking this website at least once a day.

With skinnier love,
Susie

Susie,
Glad I can help. We all need to be here for each other to make the necessary changes to succeed.
