Lori,

If you go back and look at post #749, there links for recipes using the miracle noodles.

Welcome to all the newcomers. You have picked a program that actually works. Be prepared to buy some new clothes in smaller sizes, because it will happen. I posted a grocery list back on post #732 that you might find helpful. Before I go grocery shopping I print it out and highlight the items I intend to buy. Most of the items on the list were either suggested to me by someone on this forum or by the Medi Clinic. The first week is rough, but it gets easier and once you see your week one weight loss you will be very motivated to continue.

Also went to my brunch and I have to say I did very well. I had about a 1/2 cup tuna and 1/2 cup egg salad with mayo free and salad with coffee so not bad but we didn't leave until 5:30 and I was straving so my husband and I stopped at a diner on the way home and of course there was really nothing healthy, so I did what McBoo said and ask for what I wanted and had a turkey burger plain, salad with oil and vinegar and water with lemon. Not getting on the scale until Wednesday want to wait and see if I lost.
Hi Rhonda,

Sounds like you handled the day well and I can't wait to here how you weigh-in goes on Wednesday. Today I had the breadless phili cheesesteak for lunch and it was delicious. Below are a few recipes.

Susie

Breadless Phili Cheesesteak

In a nonstick teflon pan sprayed with Pam, I sauteed red (you could use green) peppers, onions and mushrooms. I seasoned this with Monterey Steak Seasoning. Then I added thinly sliced pieces of fillet mignon (pre-cooked and left over from last nights beef kabob). You could use any lean beef or chicken. Once the meat was hot I put it all on a plate and put 1 of the provalone flavored veggie slices on top and microwaved it for 30 seconds so that the cheese would melt. I topped this off with some pickled jalapeno slices.

Crustless Pepperoni Pizza

In a small Teflon skillet melt ˝ cup mozzarella cheese until edges bottom is lightly browned (edges will be slightly brown). Spread 1 T of low sugar spaghetti sauce over the cheese. Add 9 turkey pepperoni slice over the sauce. Fold over like an omelette and serve.

You can add other veggie toppings once you are out of week 1.

I also had my Hannah in 2005 and then Trevor in 2008, so we both have small kids to keep up with.

Anyway, I would love to have a "buddy" on here and it would be easier to be starting at about the same time with someone who has very similar goals to help encourage each other! I am on day three and it is kind of hard, but I know it will be worth it.

Good luck!!!!
HI LVGirl!

I have been calling the Medi office since Friday but I guess they are closed on Friday and Monday. So I will be calling tomorrow. I am so anxious and wish they were opened today but anyways. I'll see what they say tomorrow.

I bet your house is as crazy as ours then with a 3 year old and an almost 1 year old. I stay at home with my girls and I do not know where the day goes. lol. I am either fixing meals, at the potty or changing diapers. haha

Good luck to you and to everyone on here. Looking at all of your before and after pics are so motivating! Keep up the good work, everyone looks great!!!

I'm baaaaaack!!

Hi everyone!

No, I didn't fall off the wagon! I've been sick. So darn sick with this flu or whatever it was. I stopped plan for a week, but I didn't overdo it. Mainly juice and chicken broth (the both is allowed), but I didn't take my pills and definitely wasn't eating protein. I ate pasta a few times, but mostly it was drinking a lot of grapefruit juice. I didn't gain, thank God, and I'm back on plan.

If you post the 2 pictures you want I can make it for you. I'm not sure how to get it back to your profile, but I can probably figure it out.

Sherri,

I hear you about the horrible bug that is going around SW Florida. We had it the day after Christmas and it is not pleasant. Seems that our friends from the North (snowbirds) want to bring us a gift we wont soon forget

Congratulations on being back on plan.

Asian Chicken and an update

Hello all!
I had my appointment this afternoon and lost 2 pounds. I actually lost 5 pounds of fat but am retaining water...I'll take the 2 pound loss AND the fat loss for sure!

I cannot remember where I found the following recipe (probably on this board) but I have had it on a sticky note forever and finally bought all of the ingredients to make it....everything turned out excellent.

"Asian Chicken"

6 chicken breasts
1/2 cup soy sauce (I used low-sodium)
2 tsp freshly grated ginger
2 tbsp fresh garlic minced
4 tbsp sugar-free maple syrup (I used Vermont brand w/ 5g carbs and 15 cals per 1/4 cup) This was the lowest I could find.

Blend ingredients and marinate overnight.

As a side, I sauteed fresh green beans with soy sauce, ginger and garlic then sprinkled a few sliced almonds on top.

I halved the recipe so my husband and I could each have one chicken breast and then there is one for me for lunch tomorrow...but make sure you are exact with the syrup. He had no idea what the ingredients were and when he tasted it, he said, "It tastes like syrup". It wasn't a bad thing, the taste was just distinct. The green beans were AMAZING.

Hope you enjoy it and thank you to whomever may have provided this recipe originally

Here is an example on the kettlebells. This is a basic move. You be the judge.

The texture is a bit odd and the initial smell would probably turn anyone off...but, I personally think they are worth it. I drop them straight into the strainer in the sink and let warm water run over them for about 5 minutes, swishing them around over this time. I wonder if you could soak them in warm water then put them in a salad spinner to dry them off? I can try that tonight if you want.

Maybe your husband, who things you're crazy for throwing them out, should rinse them for you and then you can just add them to what you want

At my appointment yesterday, I asked about having 2 EAS shakes a day occasionally and she told me that that is fine as long as I am counting them, etc. Also, since I am working out, I'm burning more so it's all good.

How is everyone else doing?? Newbies....are you hanging in there??

Good Job Anne, I think working out is the key to burning that fat off.

Thanks McBoo and McChestnut. Haven't been to the gym since Friday but I did go for a quick run around the neighborhood with our completely crazy jack russell terrier: Nemo last night. It sure is a nice feeling though, that even after a really long day (didn't get home til 7:30), that I still had the energy to take him for a walk/run. I used to be home from work by 3pm and take a couple hour nap, make dinner, hang out on the couch, then go to bed. What a bum!

Anyone have any fun things they are making/taking to Super Bowl parties this weekend?

Soon to be newbie

Hi Everyone,

I have not started yet, but I planning on making an appointment. I was just diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, and my doctor said that this diet would be fine. She didn't want me to take the appetite suppressant pills basically because she doesn't like the idea of taking them. But overall I did get a green light.

I live in Mass and I'm trying to decide which clinic to go to, the one in Woburn or in Danvers. Woburn is closer, but I've heard really good things about the people in Danvers. Has anyone been to either one?

I'm really looking forward to this journey. I need to make a change in my life. I am nervous because everyone says the first week is hard, but I'm excited to be taking control and taking better care of myself.

I think you look great. I think it's neat that both pictures are posed the same way. I can really see the difference. You were pretty in the before, but even better in the after. Keep up the good work.

This week's weigh-in

I just got back from my appointment and I think i am preety happy. I lost 2 pounds, but my fat mass went down 5 pounds. I went up 3 pounds of water. The Dr. said next week should be a good one as I should shed that water. SHe reminded me that slow and steady wins the race. Also I need to drink more. I was hoping for 5 pounds and I know I did nto hit that as a loss, but I am trying to keep in mind I did lose it in fat and clearly that is what I want to lose. I am hoping to lose 5 for real next week.

I started the Wii fit and my legs were really sore. SHe also said that could be holding water.

Thanks for all the support.
