Hi All,

On the 25th I have a brunch to go to with food that I am not suppose to eat what do I do. I can't tell her to make something special for me. If I eat on Sunday will it show on Wednesday. It's in 2 weeks and 2 weigh ins. Help.

Dina did you find the miracle noodles. Good luck today but you won't need it you'll do fine. Let me know. Rhonda

There wont be a single thing you can eat? You can always pick things apart, take off the bread, etc. Drink lots of water before and during so you feel fuller. Out of all of the bad choices, choose the best. Give us an idea of what kind of food there might be and maybe we can help figure out what is safest?

Yeah, these are one of the biggest challenges that we all face when on this plan. I bet that you can find something that will work, you will just have to remove things that aren't medi friendly. Also you can pack snack bags from home with Chicken, Turkey etc. Good Luck

Lori,
Miracle Noodles are a product that a few people have spoke about on this board. I haven't tried them yet but my order is on its way (from miraclenoodles.com). That is the only place I have found them, but there is a product similar that you might be able to find in the produce section of the grocery store. Those are called shirataki noodles. I don't know if there is a difference in taste, but miracle noodles contain no fat/calories/carbs, etc. and take on the likeness of regular noodles and will absorb the flavor of whatever you mix them with (or so I have heard). Same with shirataki noodles but there are some calories and carbs in those. Go to the website to find out more....I know McBoo uses them and a few others. I plan on making them the first night they arrive in the mail. There are very specific instructions for preparing them to use (they are packed in stinky water or something...)

When you go to your next visit at the clinic tell them about what is coming up make the best choices you can with what you are given. Good luck.

Week one and I am still more than a week out from my 1st appointment (Jan 23rd) but by following a rough idea of what the plan entails (although it might be a little high in calories vs where Medi will have me at...averaging 1365 Calories, 69g fat, 11g carbs, 162g protein, & 1891g sodium while drinking roughly 128 oz of water/Crystal Light and taking a One-A-Day weight smart advanced multivitamin every day plus 30 minutes of stationary bike riding 3X during the week with heart rate in training zone of 128-135bpm.). Well, drum roll please! 14.75 pounds gone!

Start : 478 lbs 0 lbs loss
Week # 1: 463.25 lbs 14.25 lbs loss

Wow-one person makes one opinion/statement, and you are all on the attack. This was a thread I started just stating how thankful I was. I have been on this board since last June and I am pretty sad about this reaction. I never made any mean statements towards any of you personally. I just simply left the thread. What you view as negativity, is just someone's opinion, which we are all entitled to . Whenever anyone asked for advice or input, I was always there to try and help. So sorry you have to be this way. As far as not needing any negativity, I have had a lot going on with my son, and I surely don't need this type of negative behavior either. Best of luck with your weight loss.

Krissy,

I could be wrong but I think the comment was directed at MamaMia and not you. It was her longwinded rant about how people should only be listening to their doctor/clinic and should not be seeking advice or listening to advice from others here on this forum/board.

Gratz on the 14.75 lbs loss!!!

I think if you continue to follow the Medi plan (well, once you start it) you will definetly meet and exceed your goal of 90 lbs lost by 09-09-09.

I am pretty sure Jon is right. The link goes to a thread where MamaMia asked to join after berating the help we give each other here.

Either way, I think we should realize that sometimes messages get misinterprested in tone and intent when typewritten. I know for myself, that I always re-read my emails prior to sending for just that reason. I have always loved this thread, and enjoyed the exchanges. McBoo was very lovely to me when I wrote about the issues with my son problems and how it was affecting me. I really appreciated that. But in all honesty, what I read (even if it was about another member), really saddened me. It appeared so sophmoric, that I felt like I was in junior high school, with all of the cliques and nastiness. Sometimes people just have bad days, and may write things that tick us off, annoy us or that we disagree with. I just ignore some posts, and respond to others. I really didn't want to leave this thread, but some members have appeared to want to disclude others. In the spirit of support, this is very contrary to why I am here to begin with.

Alrighty then! I agree! I don't know too many families that don't get into a fight now and then but they always continue to be family. As long as I GET support from this thread, I will continue to visit it. Now, have I told anybody on here lately how much I lost this week?
