Anyone losing wieght going to a medical wieghtloss clinic?

Hello. I was wondering if anyone is using this approach to losing wieght. I am going to this medical clinic where they prescribe appetite suppresants, lipo-b injections(for fat burning) and b-12 injections. They also require that you follow a low carb diet. I have had success. Losing an average of about 2 lbs a week. I was wondering and hoping to find someone that is doing something similar to share experiences with. Please let me know if you are out there.

If you are losing 2 lb.s a week, that is 8 lb.s a month...I would say you could lose at least 10 a month at your current weight 233 for at least 5 months before it slows down some what. Have you tried Atkins with out taking these pills and injections? If not you may want to. I don't think 8 lb.s a month is worth taking all those pills and injections...JMHO!

I understand...but it does help with my appetite..and the b-12 injections helps me with energy...Ive lost more this way than when ive tried atkins alone...i think i need an extra kick...thats why i decided to do this...with atkins i did lose but for some reason i would still be hungry...emotional eating i guess....but with the appetite suppresants (which are prescribed by the dr) I feel no hunger...even when i get emotional...

What type of pills are you taking? There is a thread in the Lounge area under Centruy club...go check that out. After you get off the pills (that can be highly addictive) you will gain everything you lost plus more FAST. So you may feel great now, but what are you planning on doing once your dr. takes you off the pills and injections and you start to gain? You and I are about the same weight now. I am just watching my calories and am doing great. I am not hungry at all (which I was on Atkins). I just want you to do this the healthy way and just because you are seeing a dr for this does not mean it is healthy. Go check out thread I mentioned earlier. There are quite a few people who have done this and they all have gained it back.

I totally understand where you are coming from and understand your concern....but all i want is support for the decision i have made...and was looking for anyone else who is maybe trying the same thing...sometimes we try different approaches to wieght loss...some things work for some people and some don't...so far i have no problems...not yet...and if i do ill cross that bridge when i get to it.... I am not depending on those things to lose wieght...i am exercising....and eating right....i still have to work at it...i still have to think about the things i put in my mouth and the consequences that come from it.

Cindy, some people need some extra motivation in order for a diet to succeed. Same thing with exercise. I paid for a gym membership, and since I'm paying for it monthly, I go everyday (I want to get my money's worth out of it!). People who join Weight Watchers and Jenny Craig get that same motivation by being held liable for their eating habits by other members and their "sponsors." As long as the pills and shots are not harmful, this may be your motivation for learning a better WOE. I am a huge fan of low carbing, so I am very glad to hear that you are doing the same thing. Make sure that you learn healthy eating habits for maintenance. I'm behind you on this, congrats on your weight loss so far!!

Hi Cindy,
What kind of injections are you taking? I am going to a weightloss clinic and am taking Releana...an hcg hormone that is taken under the tongue twice a day. I know similar hcg is taken through injections. I was prescribed the appetite suppressants but have only taken them twice and I am just starting my 2nd month. The first month I lost 16 1/2 pounds and honestly only did the diet about 60 - 70% of the time. The diet is very strict and I wasn't sure I could do it but after the first week it has gotten so much easier. I also go in weekly for a b-12 shot. Are you taking hcg injections? Supposedly the weightloss is 1/2 to 1 lb/day, regardless if you have 100 lb.s to lose or 10. I hit that range and wasn't even on target all month so I'm determined to stick with it this month and see how much more I can lose. I have about 70 pounds I want to lose so surely I can stick this out for a couple of months to get to my goal weight. Tell me more about your injections and the kind of diet they have you on.

Hi cowgirl...sorry i took long to respond....i was having trouble with my computer...anyways to answer your question...i am taking Lipo-B injections...they help you metabolize your fat stores....its all natural...and the b-12 of course is natural too... and the diet plan is 20 grams of carbs per day...but you eat the carbs in the morning so that you can have all day to burn them...i usually have my typical eggs and bacon and a slice of bread will take care of the carbs...lol....skip lunch...which i dont always do... but i manage....and no carbs for dinner...when i get bored i dont always stay on plan...but i stay on 80 % of the time i started in jan 08 at 251 i now weigh 220...i am averaging about 2 lbs a week...which is fine with me...as long as i am losing and not gaining Let me know if you have any other questions....

I've been contemplating one of these "medical" weight loss centers, too. From what I understand, the long-term effects of HGH are unknown. What's HCG?

Thanks!

well lets see i am on a "medicaly supervised weight loss" plan myself. I get injections and have to go in once a week i take a RX too. my injections are B-6, B-12, Chormium, and MIC (which is amino acids) which are vitamins not a "drug" i LOVE the accountablitly of it the clinic i go to is stickly weight loss/control so everyone there is there for the same things and i tell you it is amazing. i am in awe over these folkd i have lost 75lbs in 4 months on atkins before but i didnt keep it off an dno one i my life go the low carb thing now here everyone gets it! so all i can say is good luck to you!!!!!! my prayers are with you and you can do this (by the way is it a "plan" like atkins or south beach or just a low carb lifestyle?
i dont know if this will make much sense cuz my mind is racing but i just wanted you to know i am on a plan like this too...... and i am aware of the addicting effects of these drugs and i know that you can gain back when you get off them but on my plan you get weamed off and learn a whole new lifestyle while you are at it.

I lost all of my weight going to a weightloss clinic and loved it. I have been bad for almost a year and am up 25 pounds from my lowest and need to go back for a little bit. I did not do any of the shots but did follow a low carb low cal diet plan and lost about 3 pounds a week. It has changed my life and would send anyone there.

I went to a weight loss clinic about 10 yrs ago and was a client for close to 3 yrs. I loved it and got down to 119 ( I felt GREAT!!!). Over the years I had maintained it very well, then I got married....and divorced and managed to pack on 69 lbs. Ouch. Well I have tried MANY other diets over the last couple of years including Atkins, South Beach, Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, etc, etc. None of them have worked as well as the clinic did. I didnt use diet pills, but we did get B-12 supplements. The plan was based on protein supplements that you purchased at the center. I have found a place online that offers these supplements. I have decided to follow the plan without going to the center(I moved and there are no Weight loss clinics within reasonable traveling distance). Do whatever works for you....I loved the plan and nobody could convince me not to do it again.

THank you for all the support....its GREAT to know that you understand....the accountability part ,LaLa, is soooo true....it keeps me in line...i am very happy with the results so far....the injections are natural...the appetite suppresants of course are prescribed...I am following a low carb plan but try to stick to atkins as close as possible. The clinic that I am going to also weans you off .....and when I am not hungry i know that i still have to eat something or binge later...so what i do is i make better choices now as opposed to eating alot of what ever is in front of me...

TAnia...i do send everybody i know to the clinic...lol...they see my results and i tell them how i did it....its exciting cuz they get excited that they can do the same thing.

Corinna...thank you for sharing your experience...kutgw....

Let me know how you all are doing...and ill do the same...

Hey Cindy, you go girl! I have been going to Medi Weightloss clinic for 2 months as of this Monday. If my scale is correct (I will know the actual weight Monday), I have lost 23-24 lbs. My min goal is 25-30 for 2 months. I take app. supp, and both types of injections (all natural as mentioned above). I have several other friends on the same program and watching the transformation in the mirror is encouraging when I just want to grab some cashews instead. Had I followed the plan strictly, I am sure I would have lost around 35 lbs... because 1st week I lost 8.6 lbs...then messed up for week 2-3, and then went back on. My goal, honestly, is to be healthy and strong so I can fulfill my purpose and Destiny... too many people are robbed of what God has for them because of attacks on their health and physical body. Okay, I ran off on a tangent, but just wanted to say it's working great.

My other friend who just started, losst 6.5 lbs 1st week and is so excited. Another friend of mine melted away to the tiniest person...and the third friend has lost about 90 lbs so far and is only 15 lbs away from her goal. I believe she started last July, but she had some unrelated health complications (knee surgery) that took her off of plan for awhile.

So you go for it and keep us posted!

I was just wondering , does the appetite suppressants make you wired, or do you get that anxiety where you can't sit still? I have seen an ad in my local paper for a weight loss clinic, I think it's said Dr. Kaplan, anyone hear of it,MD Thin, I think? The ad states that everyone is different, which is so true.

I know my metabolism is messed up from all the yo yo dieting, I can barely eat nothing, and still not lose weight. Than I cheat, and I don't gain. I seem to stay the same weight , or within 2 -3 pounds no matter what. I am really thinking of trying this.

Thanks for any advice.

Hello!!
I'm new to this site, but was interested in your post! I started Medi Weightloss 2 weeks ago today and have lost 15lbs total! The program is medically supervised and consists of vit b12 & b6 injections, fat burners, multi-vit, appetite suppressants, and a colon cleanse. I'm not taking the appetite suppressants and am one of the few on this diet that don't need the colon cleanse. I keep my cal intake between 500-600/day and fill up on proteins. The diet allows you 1 fruit off their list and one veggie of their list per day to remain in ketosis. I check my ketone levels daily. So far, everything has been going well! The high protein diet has put a hole in my allet but I'm trying to get cals from other sources like sugar-free jello! Other than the veggies and fruits, no carbs allowed and I believe I'm over the hump! Lets keep in touch!!!

Hello all, I am also going to the Medi weightloss clinic. I am doing great so far. I am getting back into the exercise routine and feeling great. The clinic is great for the accountable factor. I weigh in on Tuesday. I am also using the supplements/injections.

Can anyone share with me the average price of doing the Medi Weight Loss Clinic specifically? Is that the one with the hcg injections? And is the diet low carb or calorie controlled?
