How many calories are you getting in a day? What phase are you in right now? I've had a lot of people telling me this clinic isn't up to par!! Can't wait to hear back from you! |

Kara, I have been researching options in Utah for my friend. Out here, the diet is the Simeon's protocol (you can find it online and read it for free). You eat 500 calories a day but they claim that there is no hunger because the fat that you're burning supplies your body with another 3500 calories a day. There's a 23 day protocol and a 43 protocol but after each one ends, you take a break of several weeks before restarting the cycle.

Hello everyone, I just started at Medi-Weightloss Clinic last week and LOVE it so far! Today is only my sixth day, and I have already lost 11 pounds! I know it won't always go this fast, but it is a HUGE motivator! Another bonus: this is the best I've felt in years!
Anyone else have any updates on their progress? |

Hey guys, I have started a thread for the Medi-Weightloss Clinic program in case anyone is interested! I want to be as accountable as possible for my weight loss, so I thought communicating with other people on the same program would help me out a lot!
Here is the thread: http://www.lowcarbfriends.com/bbs/ot...l#post10346961 ![]() |

I started the Medi Loss clinic January 17, 2008 and have lost 39.92lbs! I have 26 more to go. I did low carb before, but found that with this clinic, they are teaching me about portion control which I had a problem with on Atkins. I am so excited to find others that are doing this.

HI Gang! It's been awhile since I've posted - I forgot about the medi thread here! Well, I have been off plan for so long... and crazy thing is I keep going in for injections and meds and weigh-in. I need to hit it strict to plan this week - and get my behind up early to go work out... oy vey - early mornings!!
I have lost about 30 lbs so far. This plan works amazingly if only you stick to it. Movie popcorn doesn't help anything ![]() Someone asked about cost. I pay $80 per week which includes B-12 and B-6 injections, meds, and weigh-in. If you only do the visit, it is $60. Meds are $20 and the extra B-6 injection (which is optional) is $10. Once you hit maintenance, the cost drops to $35 and you don't have to come in every week. The clinic I go to if fabulous! The team there is great. I started the beginning of February and probably total, I have been on plan maybe 12 weeks, if that. I am sure I would have been on maintenance long ago had I been able to stick to the plan. As I'm writing this I realize how stupid it was to not stick to plan when I'm paying $80 a week! That's a lot of moolah! Okay, here we go... drinking 1 gal of water each day will be my #1 goal, then eating only protein for one week is 2nd goal and #3 is exercising. Whew... Aight ladies, looking forward to hearing the great progress!! |

Today is my 3rd week on Medi-Weight Loss. I find this to be a good fit for me. So far I have lost 16 pounds. All the meds and the shots stop me from craving bad things.

I am heading for my 2nd weigh in tonight. I lost 9.3 the first week. My sister lost 12 w/out the appet suppresant. I have not been hungry except that first week. I do go for the booster and feel that it helps. I have more energy and feel the b12 has helped in many areas. I think you really need to keep up w/ the 30 min excercise though. Serious emotional eating issues and sat by and watched others eat a chocolate trio. There are sabatogers among me, but I will have to deal w/ that issue as well. I am weighing in tonight, so see what happens. I too have tried everything under the sun (WW x 4, Jenny, Low Carb, Medifast) and though WW I lost 45 lbs and kept it off for a year and 1/2. So far I really like this plan, though it is expensive, worth it to lose the 50 pounds I need to lose. My sister needs to lose 115 and this is her last effort before lapband.

Wow Faith!! It's great to see you and your sister doing this together!!! It's great to have a friend to share recipes, feelings, and hurt feeling with throughout your dieting process! I hear ya on the sabotagers! Sometimes I feel my roommates are out to get me, but I think I just have a heightened awareness of food now. Avoiding temptation is the hardest thing I think I have ever endured as it's so difficult to smell and see it! Good job hanging in there!!! I love to hear how people have avoided temptation as I try and apply it to my own life because I'm surrounded by it constantly!! Share your avoidance on this link so we can all benefit from your struggles LOL (no offense)! I think Lucies started this thread for this reason! I'm not sure she had specifics in mind, just anything to help each other out along the way!!! I actually posted a blog about the things I do to try and avoid temptation. This form of weightloss is very different from Atkins which this site seems to have a lot of followers for that, which is why I love this link!!!! It helps those of us separated from the Atkins world!!

Do any of you ladies get headaches from any of the meds or supplements that they give you? I have done something like this, I think, in the distant past and the meds gave me headaches as well as insomnia. Thanks for helping!

hahahah I naturally have insomnia! I think it's the perks of college life and to much caffeine! I understand what you're saying though. I usually get my shots early in the morning and feel a rush of energy throughout the day, but it never lasts more than that. So somebody getting them in the evening, may find themselves doing 17 loads of laundry throughout the night LMAO! I haven't really experienced any side effects from the shots, although the strict high protein diet can leave one's colon feeling a bit bound LOL (I was trying to find a gentle way of blurting out: Hey guys I get constipated).

Does anyone doing Medi Weight loss start feeling an increase in appetite after you have been on the program a while? I began my 5th week Monday and I am down 22 lbs but in the evenings I am starting to get hungry

Sometimes this happens when you've been truly faithful to the diet and your body is asking for a little more fat. Try eating 1-2 All Beef Hotdogs by Oscar Myer as a meal. Not only will it help with mild craving but should help those hunger problems! Also, you haven't decreased you water intake have you? Plain water, nothing added, should really help fill you up! Try and avoid asparteme as it increases hunger! Good luck!

I did one called Medi Weight Loss Clinics - they are all around the country and they do put you on a low-carb, low-cal, low-fat diet. When I say low-cal, I mean LOW. I was on phendimetrazine as an appetite supressant, that stuff is awesome, B12 and B6 shots, and a multiple vitamin. I don't have a bad thing to say about them except they are expensive! Lol.
I lost close to 16 lbs. in the first month and it came off more slowly after that. I got to 127 lbs., my lowest ever, I was a size 4 and couldn't believe it. I'd love to be back there but I had to be super strict to get to that size. After going off the diet, I've struggled with maintenance, going up a little and down a little and so on. The maintenance diet for Medi is similar to South Beach. Beans and whole grains are okay. But I can't eat whole grains much at all or I gain weight. They set off my carb cravings and I go nuts. I just need to learn to increase my quantity of food in terms of protein and veggies and mostly avoid even good carbs like beans and whole grains. Mostly, I said. I'm not sure I can ever eat a "regular" carbier, even if healthy carbs, diet. I am back on low-carb/low-cal now trying to get back to about 130-134 lbs. which is a more comfortable weight for me and puts me in a size 6. |

Are you on phetermine or phendimetrazine? You might switch to phendimetrazine if you are on phetermine because phentermine is time released and wears off towards the end of the day, whereas phen-d, you take it 3x a day. If you are hungrier at night, I'd take the last pill about 4pm and save up some of your calories for your dinner meal and eat less earlier in the day.

I have just started a medical weight loss plan, I began week 3 on Saturday. My first week was great, lost 11.5lbs (8.5 of 'fat'), that was a strict 500 calories a day, no carbs, 12oz of protein and lots of liquids. Week 2 I was down 2.8lbs, 800 calories (added some veggies). The goal is to keep my body in ketosis, which so far I have. All of this so far was without excercise. This week I have incorporated some light cardio on the treadmill. My goal is 3lbs a week. The pills do make it easier to get through the day, I mean 800 calories is not much, I will also add drinking lots of water helps as well with the appetite! Best of luck to everyone doing this, I know how tough it is!
