Overdid the "medicine" yesterday...not fun anymore. Of course, after being dry for 3 months, the first couple days are like being run down by train! With me it's either feast or famine...like all good little PIGGIES!
Here's our review of THE GOOD THIEF... http://www.gaycitynews.com/gcn213/hollywoodflubber.html We may soon be giving up this line of work...too much work for the dough. I want to eat a crappie- They seem so common I'm amazed I've never seen them in a fish market. I searched for alternate names, but find nothing familiar. ![]() I've given thought to a "double wide" but SO won't hear about it....plus I'd live in mortal fear of tornados. Looks like 5 days of rain nest week....eccchhh, I hope they're wrong. Thursday and Friday planned for househunting (Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton area- Eastern PA). Maybe the storms will pass by then I hope. Theater tonight (unless we can change the tickets) and a meal in Chinatown. Rough part of town for transportation though...lots of walking and rain are a bad combo. Later all, enjoy the weekend. Oh yeah, Did anybody else get the WINDOWS UPDATE this morning called WINDOWS UPDATE V4 CONTROL? I chose to not install til I found out whether or not it was "troublesome." Hello everybody.
Roger, I didn't get an update notice yet for windows. Last week there were 3 critical updates that I installed. Had to do with security issues. Take it easy with the "medicine". It's not fun or worth it to feel like crap. ![]() We will all be anxiously awaiting your report on the houses you find. Will you make offers? If memory serves me right, crappies are pretty good. I don't like "fishy" tasting fish but they aren't bad at all. Maybe when you move to PA, you will have a chance to catch your own. Pam, Poor Polly Hopefully the pain from the extractions will be gone soon and she will be her old self again.. Keep us posted. When I first went back to work, I worked 16 hrs and didn't like it at all. Getting lazy in my old age. LOL Hopefully your weekend at work won't be too stressful. Loretta, My son catches crappie, trout and salmon but I haven't had any of his in a good many years. It's funny that he will give me bottles of his wonderful, home made wine but not his fish. I have two coffee grinders. One I got at wally world for about $11. When I grind almonds or pecans for flour, I'll do a huge batch at a time and have it ready to go. Sam's club has large bags of Almonds, pecans and walnuts. Susan, I'm glad you are enjoying the warm temps and beautiful beach. What a treat to see that Eagle. We have some in this area, about 40 miles north of us, but I haven't seen them yet. When we were in Montana we did see them. Shawnee, Hopefully you are enjoying a break from the rain. Are you working in the rice paddy? Ginny, have a wonderful time at the orchid show and bring home some wonderful new babies. Shelly, what are you doing today? I'm off to do some housework and will make Shawnee's Key Lime pie. Dinner is on with our moms tomorrow after a 5 week break. DH is making his famous meatloaf to go with the mock mashed, butternut and cucumber salad. See ya. |

Hello all.
It's been an active day so far. Got up early to see dh off to work and get dressed. Went and picked up two of my nephews, ages 6 & 9, who live about an hour away. Since the Daffodil festival started at 10am, I wanted to take the kids early to avoid the crowd. As soon as we got there, I headed for the stand with the sausages and onions. It was so good and spicy. The kids also got a bite to eat, played on a game and petted the animals. Before we left they asked for homemade icecream. Suprisingly, they still had room! I've got the boys till tomorrow and they are a joy but very rambunctious! They are playing video games right now. That will keep their attention for a little while. Have not tried crappie, Zip2Play. Around here, Spots, Sea Mullets, and Croakers are popular. ~ Good fortune home hunting. It has got to be a challenge. ~ Didn't get a notice about an update. Dinner sounds delicious, LoveMontana. Gotta try that key-lime pie soon. I'm thawing some chicken out right now and plan to try 'heroin chicken' ~ chicken rolled in butter and then parmesan and baked. Making cabbage to go with. I would like to do some baking because it would be so much better for me than the sf treats and cheaper too. Enjoy the day everyone. ~ Shelly ~ |

Hi to all
Roger I’m so happy that you finally know what a Crappie looks like. Some of the fishermen here are catching 30 or more a day. They are not sold commercially that I know of. Read the review and again a splendid job. Not my kind of movie, I like the Chick Flicks aka love, romance etc. I rarely go to the movies. Last one about more than 10 yrs ago. I think I saw Tom Hanks in Forrest Gump. Good to hear that you have the house hunting plans in place for next week. Send pics. Linda I am going to keep using my nut grinders (I have 2 ) until they wear out. They do a good job on getting the texture after a while. Nice to hear that the Moms will be up for dinner tomorrow. Well is the wine that your DS makes good. It would be a hard choice there. A friend of ours makes Elderberry wine from wild elderberries and I sure don’t care for it at all. Pam hope that Polly starts taking more liquids. But as long as she is eating that might be ok too. Yes I’m glad too that we have electricity and don’t have to pound our clothes to wash them or grind that grain by hand. Shawnee glad that weather is drying up some. Hey a Cranberry Bog GREAT IDEA. I was surprised though at how well the Blue berries worked in those bars in place of the cranberries. Great taste. That bbq sauce was garlic, vinegar, splenda, pepper, salt , &onions. The color was off a little for bbsauce and I added some paprika for color. It was good stuff. Ginny enjoy your weekend off and your orchid show. Susan sounds like a great time down there in Fla. Enjoy. Hi to Shelly and our fav lurker. Enjoy the weekend all.’ Loretta |

Good Saturday Magnificient 8's,
Sounds more crazy this way! Had a wonderful sunny walk with Oliver at 8ish around the golf course.....and those homes for scenery....yikes 1.9 1.5 forget it! Took Oliver again around noon, and the church bells were ringing out the Angelus.........getting a bit sentimental in my old age! It sounded wonderful! My eyes cannot believe how much lush green is about. Talk about abundance! Florida is blessed! The Eagle is across the road from DS's house, perched in a very high tree, the nest is huge. What a terrific site. The spritual message of the Eagle sighting, is something on the lines of rising to new heights of Being and taking Responsibility for oneself. Yikes! DH saw some jelly fish under the pier at the beach, their message is about becoming more organised.........yep, gotta do that too! We have a spirtual friend that interprets the animals messages to us. Similar to the Indians how they were guided by the animals. Pam: I am so glad that Polly is at least eating, you could add liquid to her food in an attempt to hydrate her. Do I need to see a Dog dentist or just ask the Vet to check his teeth? I will start to brush now, since I heard your advice! Thanks again! Dont work too hard this weekend. My Mother died the same way that young man did.She sufferred from Asthma all her life, then she had a really bad attack after my brother of 27years died. They were both gone in 3 weeks! It is so sad that he is so young. When you cant breathe nothing else matters! That is why I work is preventing emphysema and lung ca I think! Zip: Sorry to hear you are not feeling too great. If you can manage to down some Water to dilute the "Meds" and get them out of your system you may feel tons better! Happy House hunting! DH and I are planning to go to New Smyrna Beach on Tuesday to check out whats available there and prices $$$. DS says, he heard we can take Oliver on the beach for a walk, so sounds like a dream lifestyle to this Norhterner! Linda: Hope you are free of that bug and that the contract is coming in with the right amount of hours. Would they consider a job share if it is too many hours for you???? Loretta: Thanks for the update on the nut grinder. I did not know which kind to buy. Is the nut grinder better than a coffee grinder??? That crappie sounds wonderful. I love garlic butter 'n olive oil all over any fish! Yummy and lots of Omega-3. Shelly: Glad you managed to have those sausages! Sounds like you are the Good Aunt! Very important person in a childs life. They are all Stars, we just have to let them know it! How wonderful that Daffodil festival. I gotta move South! Waving to Shawnee and Ginny, I guess you guys are out in the yard? GH? Hugs and kisses to those furbabies! Susan ![]() |

Hi Y'all
A day like no other in recent memory, over 70° and brilliant sunshine Hog Heaven for me, and all the gas station owners who sold fuel for lawnmowers today.. no rain on the Horizon til Sunday night, I'm feeling sooo spoiled. Was at Walmart by 8:30 AM to check out the Annuals; too runty and pricey, so I'll wait for a better deal. Probably just as well, I'd have to babysit any tender plants for weeks... Don't have to tell y'all what my day was like ..I pigged out on yard chores like an escapee from the Frozen Tundra..got the little pond cleaned out (used the buckets of bottom-muck for plant fertilizer)....got the pump running, splashing...with closed eyes and a vivid imagination, the sounds are similar to a pleasant tinkling creek. Found only one little frog in residence, and he didn't seem pleased with all the disturbance of his watering hole.Pup chased squirrels and ducks, which I put a stop to...the ducks were eating slugs, and I want them happy and well-fed! We have a painted cow skull on the garden tool shed door, and again this year the little Titmice are building a nest in the brain cavity..*bird-brain?*..LOL ZIP, hope the head/body situation is better, and the "meds" have worn off...maybe Famine is a more logical choice; use the $ for more Phonecia cousins ![]() Fantastic review, entertaining, good reading, and gives credit where due, tho leaves no doubt the thing sucks! Sure hope your plans are fruitful, and you are successful in your search. Montana, time to put in a special request to your Fishing Son..maybe even lay on a little Guilt trip..LOL Bet the Moms are really looking forward to Dinner, after such a long dry spell with y'all. Are you back to "well" again?Loretta, I made Ribs tonight, just because YOU made me hungry for them ......OH, GAWD, major yum.. hehee, I remember when getting you to try new things was like pulling hen's teeth; now you can't stop! Do I love this, or what??? ! I bought some Bob's Red Mill Rye flour today, what do you suggest I do with it? We have MILES of Cranberry Bogs on the Coast, about 70 miles West of here...they are harvested in August. I have raided a few Corn fields in my time, but never a Bog...Hummmmm ![]() Tink, when Pup was not getting enough liquids for one reason or another, I gave her generic Pedialite..from Safeway. Sometimes I had to put it in a plunger, and shoot it into her mouth..Since she became Diabetic, she does a lot of drinking tho. Sure hope Polly is feeling better, nothing sadder than a sick baby. Susan, Oliver is one lucky pup ...having his Dog Days of Summer early. You are blessed in seeing that Eagle. They are my number ONE Totem. Ginny, I guess you are busy making Adoption Plans at the Orchid show. Hope its as fun as you want it to be. ![]() Shelly, your day sounds like it was fun-filled and good food to boot. Little boys, as good as they are, can certainly be a handful when you are used to little girls ...and they are bottomless pits, food-wise.Hi to Dragon, hope you will be showing yourself soon! Have a fantastic Sunday, all. Shawnee |
