Good Morning Ginny and Shawnee,
I finally got my password reset by LCBB staff. I seemed to have been in a loop. I tried several times yesterday and gave up. I knew I would finally get in. It is extremely pleasant down here, temps in the high 70's, what a refreshing change! Colourful plants and flowers everwhere. Just enjoying the scenery changes, so peaceful! We walk Oliver twice a day here and he loves it too! No sneux for him to climb over!I could certainly retire down here, but house prices yikes! A small condo type we saw for sale was $359,000 and house on the lake which is across the road from DS's smaller home is listed at 1.7 million, it has a guest house in the grounds......ummmmh! I wonder if they would sell us just that????LOL!!! Even the gazebos on the golf course are looking like our new home LOL! Cdn dollars dont go that far these days!Gotta do some serious research for our 5-year plan. I like the sound of house prices that you found Zip! It looks like more "Work Days" are on the Agenda for the next year or so! I dread to think that we are going to spend yet another winter up there! I wish there was a hand book on how to accomplish this transition. There ya go Zip! Write one! It will be the essential book for all the boomers! That'll keep ya for a few years! DH has gone off to Home Depot for some lumber to make yet another workbench for DS's business. Last time we were down DH made lots of shelves for DS's warehouse. The warehouse guy that works fo DS, thinks DH is wonderful. DH just likes to tinker around. I think it makes him feel useful and that he has a purpose. His way of expressing his love to DS. I have heavy decisions, deciding which book to start! LOL! I have several with me. If the weather is fine we may drive to the Beach tomorrow! Waving to ya'all! Susan ![]() |

Surprised to see that post from Shawnee this morning. Now I don’t know where to put this. I guess I will put it in both places. I have been typing this in my Word program and then posting it. It works well and I can save it if I need more time to finish writing. When I copy and post it, it seems to work better too and is a lot quicker also. So nice not to lose it either.
I have been busy baking those Blueberry Bars this morning and I have a problem to want to keep tasting them. I think I will use them for an occasional breakfast meal. Ginny the only planting I have done is the spinach and it is a cold weather veggie and will be fine. I am going to plant the tomatoes later toward the end of April this year. I know the weather can be a fooler, nice one-day and then bang a frost. Nice weather here again. Dh will go fishing soon, but I had rather stay home and do some outside chores. I would hate to be sitting there fishing and not catching any and thinking about the nice stuff I could be outside doing. The grass is calling for weed and feed. Zip thanks for that reminder about saving the address book and favorites. I do that occasionally when I remember. It is a good idea. Hope all is well there in NJ and your nice weather continues. Let the HOUSE HUNTING BEGIN. Susan good to hear from you this morning. Glad you are going to relax with a good book. Too bad there is not an easy way to make the transition to Fla living. $$$ Is usually a determining factor. Your husband sure knows how to be a welcome and useful guest and finding his pleasure helping others too. WTG for the both of you. Well Linda have you made a decision about that job yet? Do you have to do continuing education also and have a license to keep up. Our nursing license was really getting high. They even wanted $75 to be an Inactive Status Nurse. I guess I am still living in a time where things cost less. I need to update. But here where we live the nurses did not make that much, they might and do in other states I know. Pam hope Polly is recuperating nicely. Poor pup. I wonder what a regular dentist would charge to extract 20 teeth? You are a great caregiver there. Hi to Shelly and our other lurkers today. Out the door to fertilize and kill weeds. Later guys Loretta |

Work was busy but good. The pollen is really accumulating here. I washed my car on Friday and today it's almost the color of our town flower, the daffodil. This Saturday is the annual daffodil festival. It's usually well attended and festive. I'm going to have to find the food stand with the grilled sausage w/ onions and peppers!
The Vacation Bible School meeting on Tuesday was nice. Two companys presented their materials and I bought a starter kit from one of them. Now, to get the planning ball rolling! I want the kids to have fond memories like you shared, Shawnee. OrchidCactus, I've purchased humming bird food and am ready to see the little friends again this Spring. They are amazing. Hmmm, Blue Berry Bars sound wonderful, Loretta. Tasting is contagious but you have to make sure they taste okay, right? ![]() Sounds as if you're enjoying yourself, Susan. Nice. Enjoy the beach. Bible study this evening and I'll likely do dd's hair so she'll be ready for Spring pictures tomorrow. That time sure rolled around quickly. Hello to everyone. Enjoy the evening. ~ Shelly |

Gosh...I posted a long one at 6AM. Can't imagine where it went.
Well, net of day, I got 30 square feet of new floor....boy does it make the old stuff (15 years) look rotten. It's cheap wood parquet over concrete. Sue honey, if you are real estate sticker shocked, reallize that people my area are moving to Florida for BARGAINS. Here a cool MILLION buys a nice house! (that's $1.600,000 Canadian.) That's why I'm running away! I think we're in for a price meltdown like 1992 though. Home alone and catching up on CHILDREN OF DUNE parts 2 and 3....four hours- looking forward to it this evening. SO is at the RINGLING BROS BARNAM AND BAILEY CIRCUS with his "girlfriend"....like Kramer, I'm terrified of clowns....ROFL! later...I'm going searching for the old post! aha: found the oldie: Quote:

Hello gang,
LOL double posts for today. Ginny, my god!! the air cooler is on in the GH?? Lucky you. I'm with you on the tomato plants. I really will try some this year. Maybe some more stuff too if I don't get really lazy... Don't work too hard tonight. Shawnee, you did shake me up. What a surprise to see you in the morning. I looked in for a minute before I ran off to work. Hope the weather has improved for you. How did the wall paper job go? Loretta, Hope you caught some fish. You need to just rest once in a while. Yard work can wait a day or two since your dh probably enjoyed your company. That's more important. Oh my gosh, the darn Facility approved me to continue on contract as long as I want, but it goes to Albany (State Capitol) for approval. I should know something by next Thursday.. No license to keep up but the continuing education is a pain in the butt! I told them that if I did stay it would be only Tues and Wed. afternoon and no more than 4 hrs. each day. Susan, I'm sobbing here thinking of the wonderful weather you are enjoying. Yikes on the housing prices. It sounds like the area in and around Missoula, Montana where we would like to live. Have you looked in other, less expensive areas of Fla.? They can't all be that expensive... Enjoy your day at the beach. Roger, If you find a way to convince Oxford to pay for those procedures let me know. I would love to convince Blue Cross/Blue Shield to pay for a few things too... That floor will be nice! Much easier on those sox and your feet. Does the house you first saw on the net have hardwood floors? They are so easy to maintain. Better than carpet that gets filthy.. Have you ever seen the crap that the darn things collect? If you have allergies, it's something to think about. Computer question.. Outlook express is giving me fits today. I'm not getting any mail but I can send. This is what I get when I send from my hot mail or yahoo acct. The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'pop-server.stny.rr.com (1)', Server: 'pop-server.stny.rr.com', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E Grrrr. Shelly, grilled sausage w/ onions and peppers are one of my favorites. Yummm. So where in NC do you live? Pollen here will start in a few weeks. Time to get out the Clarinex. Pam, what's up with you today and how is Polly? Poor baby! I thought about her all day ![]() Last edited by LoveMontana : 03-27-2003 at 08:40 PM. |

Hi Again
Another RAIN day for us here, and more coming...sure would love to plug up the spigot in those clouds...we had a small sunbreak this afternoon, and I got as far as the deck, to sit on a wet lawn chair and admire the view of green things coming up. Pup came in wearing mud pies between her toes. ![]() Ginny, does Tyke act like a cat? I sure hate for my critters to eat anything wild, cause of all the germs and vermin in/on them...and some might have been poisoned by the neighbors, like mice and such.. Pup and I would love to drop everything and come visiting...your home life sounds so wonderful and peaceful, and pretty. The idea of hugging your furbabies and grooming your ponies sounds like heaven. Has your trainee showed up yet?Susan, glad your trip down went well, and Oliver is a happy camper frolicking in the sun.......the flowers must seem idealic after all that snow. Your DH sounds like a Dream Dad to Son...how nice for both of them! Enjoy yourself for all of us . I emailed you the joke that blew ZIP away... ![]() Tink, how's poor Polly? That had to be so stressful and painful for her, and stressful for you too. I don't know how many teeth a dog has; I thought about counting Pup's, but she wasn't real thrilled with me doing that Hope you have some good weather and can get back to being a Happy Gambler again soon. Loretta, have you cooked any of those fish yet? I'm sure in love with those Blueberry Bars...they are all gone now. I'm so jealous that you can plant... ...I am really feeling the NEED to do that, but it will have to be in pots...the ground here is still gumbo. I think its time to go check out some Nurseries, and get my eyes full. Supposedly our last frost is around the end of this month, but it was the first week of May last year. Lobelia...I WANT lobelia..!!!..and Geraniums....nothing worse than a frustrated Gardener... Montana, Ginny said it best : What do YOU want to do re working? I sometimes get that message from Outlook...if I can't get it working, I do a System Restore, back a few days. ..only takes a couple minutes. For sure, I would love to have all HARDWOOD floors, and a few rugs...carpets are NASTY!...whoever invented them should be shot! I'm still at it, painting where I tore down the wallpaper..and bought more paint and wallpaper today...some of the walls in this old house are beyond hope for painting the drywall...so I buy textured (paintable) paper, and then paint it. Not really into patterns, so the plain stuff works well for me. Sure hope you are well on the road to recovery re THE BUG. ![]() Shelly, I relate to the yellow pollen..in another month, our Birches will be "daffodilling" up the driveway and cars. Your VBS kids are lucky to have such a caring advocate as you in their corner ![]() OHHHhh, I can just SMELL those onions sizzling on the grill.... ZIP, LOL..thinking of moving, and you get new flooring after 15 years! I'd love to get some in the kitchen, but the idea of moving out all those appliances keeps me from doing it. You are probably as likely to get that partridge as any of the other items mentioned, so might as well ask for it too. ![]() Have a good night, y'all ShawneeLast edited by shawneesioux : 03-27-2003 at 09:47 PM. |
