Hello everybody...
Got raped for $40 for two tickets to THE SHOW WHAT I WROTE...lordy, directed by Kenneth Branagh and Produced by Mike Nichols yet. It was the STUPIDEST, most BORING, least funny "comedy" I've seen in 10 years. Walked out midway through Act ONE! British Music Hall stuff....some doof actually tried the "silly walk" and only reminded the audience how well John Cleese did it...oh yeah lots of pies in the face, but they were RUBBER so no mess...I think the MESS is part of the funny! They didn't hold a candle to Mrs Slocum and Mr Humphries. Between lots of walking and loads of sit-ups, I've managed to inflame that tendon (whose name escapes me) that attaches the right quadriceps (front of thigh) to the bottom front of the pelvis....OWWW! No exercise today (rain anyway.) It will definitely be a good afternoon to start the dreaded IRS, NY, and NJ taxes <sigh.> Plans are sort of the two of us to Allentown April 3 and 4. I scheduled my physical April 1. I'm going to ask for both homocysteine and C-Reactive protein. Unfortunately it's the day after my birthday (which I planned to be the beginning of some drinking.) ![]() So, since I have to be dry on March 31, I've decided to start with 2 drinks TODAY....YAY TEAM!...Best after the taxes though!!!! I will try to cut back on food to account for the added calories so I don't blow up weightwise! Two weeks if I'm a pig, three or four if I can control myself and drink "socially." If I could do 2 drinks a day FOREVER, I wouldn't have to keep going on the wagon....but we mortals are weak, or at least THIS one is. Shawnee...I see more Pacific Rain for you- is there no END? Bye! ps....make this a part of your spring cleaning: Save your FAVORITES and your ADDRESS BOOK NOW...if you ever lose them and don't have them on a floppy you'll kick yourself from here to tomorrow. Hi y'all
Our March Rain Record is now officially broken: 27 consecutive days of Precipitation, from drizzle to moonsoon variety....to say this is bordering insanity is an understatement. I am contemplating physically ripping the Barometer off the wall and flinging it to Florida... ZIP, have you overdone it yet again? Your new injury sure sounds painful. Time to work the brain and let the body rest. ![]() You might have some interesting Tax results if ya hit the jug BEFORE starting the prep work...LOL Well, I'm just guessing, but I'd say the that show had a NEGATIVE impact on you ![]() Hope you and Bob can get out of town as planned. Loretta, I had the next-to-the-last piece of Blueberry Bars for Brekkie. Good stuff! If you have some sun today, please enjoy it for me too. ![]() Gotta flex my wallpaper-peeling muscles now and get underway. Be back later. Hi to all our group. Shawnee |

Hey gang,
A bit of a cool off and some drizzlies for today. Thermometer only says 50 at the moment, but it is March in TN, and the weather changes quicker than you can imagine. Ah well, makes it a little easier to go to work when it's not so pretty out. Zip, ouch on the quadricep thingy! That sounds painful. Let it rest and heal up. How do you manage to wait to look at the houses? I'd be chomping at the bit! Shawnee, great minds must think alike! Getting rescued like that sure must have been necessary for the both of you...you're lucky to have such a wonderful DGB! I think I'm the only one here who doesn't snore (except when I have a cold, then DH gets PAYBACK) so bring it on....I can always get earplugs ![]() Pam, so sorry to hear about that young man! His poor family will take a long time to recover from their loss, especially his child! What kind of oral surgery on Polly? Teeth scraping or more serious? We do worry about them, so let us know how she does. Glad your DD has some time to figure out which direction to go with the layoff and doesn't have to jump in to anything quick. Linda, the countdown continues for you---soon to be a free woman! Yeehaa...just remember how it feels to be retired when they try to talk you in to coming back! Are you feeling better now I hope? Loretta, cool down here, and drizzly it seems. I'm sure you're like us in that it will change rapidly. Reckon it's nature's way of giving us a break from the outdoor stuff here and there so we don't overdo? Glad your visit went well, and hoping you hear from DGS soon. Susan, hope you had a comfortable flight and Oliver is acclimating well. Check in when you can. Shelly, how's things on your front? Staying busy I'm sure....has the countdown to summer vacation begun yet in your house? Well, off to lurk for a bit,

Well, the vet called, and said Polly needed 20 extractions. She should be out of surgery by now, I hope. It's 12:30 here right now. Poor little baby. We should be able to pick her up in the next hour or two.
Zip--You had to pay to see a show that your wrote?? That isn't fair. Is that the groin that you injured? Take care!!! Shawnee--Are you having the rain or WHAT?? Sounds like Seattle. Think of how green everything will be in a couple of months. Ginny--Yeah, better it's nice out when you are not working. Have you started the new trainee? I'm afraid to see what the vet bill will be. DH is already having fits. But, Polly is worth it. She'll get my constant attention the rest of the week.

Hi Everyone,
Just got home from work and was told not to turn my keys and badge in yet!! Our exeuctive director wants to keep me but I just don't know if I want to continue. Thinking to myself that if I do, it will be only up to 8 hrs a week and only when I want to work. Arrrggg! Retirememt is wonderful but the damn money is so tempting.Roger, Will that house still be on the market in a few weeks? I would be really concerned. Hopefully the real estate agent will have a nice long list of them for you to choose from. Sorry about that tendon injury. OUCH!! Rest and don't stress too much over those taxes. LOL at Shawnee's suggestion that you have those drinks before you start. Pam, Oh poor Polly. She will be hurting for a few days, poor baby. Why did she have to have so many teeth removed? Ginny, Cool, miserable and damp here too. You are right, working on days like this is much easier. Cough is the same but I feel much better. Several employees were in the hospital with the darn bug. Guess I was fortunate. Shawnee, 27 consecutive days of this crap It better dry up soon for you otherwise you will need to build a boat.Wall paper stripping is a huge pain in the butt. I found that soaking it thoroughly with hot water and letting it sit for about 20 minutes is easier than using that damned steamer. Waving to Loretta, Shelly and Susan. See everyone later. Linda |

Finally getting here to say hi for today. Just a busy day shopping and cleaning fish. Yes DH caught about 5 crappie today. It did not take that long to get them cleaned. I just cut out the bones he does the degutting etc. Uuuuggg. Sometimes their nerves are still twitching when I get to them.
Boy Zip I like house hunting. I am glad we have this modern age of technology so we can get a look with you. Don’t forget to take you digital incase we need to look at something for you. I am getting excited for you. You do need a bigger kitchen for sure. And you could even grow some veggies outside even if you have to put them in pots. Bummer on the $40 tickets for the bad play. Rest those sore tendons up. Ginny we had a picture perfect day here. Upper 60s sunshine and not much wind. Just a gorgeous day. Got my spinach planted yesterday and we had a little rain last night to dampen the seeds. So nice to see that spring is making things flower and get green and smell so nice again. Dang Linda can’t they let you go. They know a good employee when they get one. People like you are hard to come by. I guess you could keep one foot in the door. Just one now and not more than that. Shawnee why didn’t I think of buying frozen blueberries. I got fresh ones at about $5 for 9 ounces. What a dummy. They were $2.50 for 4.5 ounces each. Well those Cranberry/Blueberry Nut Bars ought to taste wonderful. I will make them in the morning. 27 days of rain. Boy your yard will be soup. It will take a while for it to all dry up. Be glad though you can complete your inside work. Gee wall paper too. I have never had to tackle it myself. Tink what on earth will your little Polly do for eating? Will she get some false teeth? That sounds like a plan to me or you will just have to feed her soft foods. NO more bone chewing. Poor pup. Hope she is back home now and sleeping the day off. HI to Susan and Shelly. Susan hope the trip went well and you are getting all set for some lazy, hazy, days on the beach. I found a new snack today when I was at Krogers. It is called Wheat Nuts and it is a low carb, 5 carbs per 1/3 cup serving. It is a little high in fat though, 3 grams of sat fat per serving. Maybe I can eat them sparingly. They taste wonderful, maybe like pretzels, but a little more nutty. Have a great rest of today. Loretta |

Linda--Tough decision there! I wouldn't know what to do on that one.
Loretta--Cleaning fish, I learned how to do it up here at Donner Lake at 13 yrs. old. It doesn't bother me if they are dead first. Polly wasn't ready to be released till 4:00 pm today. She's been on my lap since then, mostly out of it. She just ate the vet's prescription food. It was kinda like a pate, and she loved it. We never gave her bones, just dog cookies. Her gums had receded, and it was a mess. Soft food for a couple of weeks for sure. $650 for today. Dachshunds are more prone to have teeth problems. She has perked up a bit in the last half hour. I just gave her a pain pill, and she starts antibiotics tomorrow for 10 days. |
