Counting grams-I must not need many!
Hi
Since I started counting carbs, I have discovered that anything over 50 grams a day will cause me to gain weight. Yes-I am counting everything. This seems to be a very low number. The first week I ran on 20 grams a day thereabouts and lost two pounds, but when I upped it to 50 I stalled out. Is this common, or am I just really sensitive to carbs, as I think I might be? Thanks! |

50 grams of carbs works fine for a lot of people if you are willing to eat less overall. any semblance of "eat till satisfied" normally takes cutting to 20 grams for a lot of people. even then, many of us have to count calories too. you just have to figure out your own "sweet spot." we are all a little different.

No, I think that people who wind up on this forum are probably all more sensitive to carbs than other people. I seem to be able to lose between 20 to 25g but that is also with calorie counting, not eating to satisfied. When I go about 25g, I eat more, which is fine but I will stall probably above 25g day. I am technically not quite at goal weight so I am waiting until I get there to start bringing mine in the 25g to 50g a day range. I assume this is where I will stay for the rest of my lifetime.

I have been at my goal weight for about a year now and have to stay between 20 and 25 NC's. That works for me. I also do cardio and lift weights 6 days a week.
