Mornin' y'all!
Beautiful day here--looks like it will be 70's and sunny, so I'LL TAKE IT! First day of spring WOOHOO! I have to get my tail in gear and put my plates and trophy in the display case I got from DH for my bday. It's really a 4 shelf, glass fronted book case, but we've talked about installing lights to show off the 'goodies'. This weekend will probably see that done. Zip, hope the BP settles down--be careful with the meds! Remember, us ol' buddies will put a whuppin' on ya if you aren't careful with them! Good deal on the new roof, and if you can do lots of the interior work yourself that would save a TON of money. DH does all that around here, or we'd never have been able to buy this old place. Shawnee, didn't it feel great to air out the house? Especially us smokers enjoy that--less stale air! Now for some sunshine for you and Pup to enjoy and you're all set. Thanks for the tips on posting pics...if I have trouble I'll send an SOS your way. I'll pick them up tomorrow on the normal run to town. Keeping fingers crossed they turned out, at least one good one! Loretta, winds were strong here too yesterday. But the 70 degree day was worth it! I'm sure your fisherman is antsy to get back on the lake and provide you with fresh fish once again. So what does the driving class cost? I'm rather conservative on my speed--generally don't go over 3 mph above the limit, and I know I've aggravated DH on speeding enough times! Linda, are you feeling better? Sure hope you get over that bug soon! A good night's sleep will do wonders for you, so hope that happens quick too. Just take it easy, don't push yourself and FEEL BETTER! Remember, we worry about you too! Pam, you lucky thing! I've never been in a casino, so I have no idea how I'd do. Hope the furbaby's results are good--having a sick kid, fur or otherwise, is always hard! Ours don't like the Dr visits either, but they love to ride in the van, so there's no trouble taking them anywhere. Once we get to the Dr, then the 'I don't wanna' stuff starts! Susan, countdown to FL! You will really get a good dose of sunshine and warmth....wish we could join you in person instead of just virtually. Wear that swimsuit with pride! Shelly, hope all is well with y'all...what are you and yours doing with this gorgeous weather? Well, gang, better get myself moving for the day. Time to open the windows and enjoy some fresh air!

Hello everyone,
It's raining here and rather cold. Early this am there was freezing rain and a few accidents. Crazy weather. Tomorrow it's supposed to go up to almost 70. Ginny, That display case is going to be beautiful, especially when you get some lights in it. Enjoy that wonderful weather. I did get a good night's sleep finally, so I'm on the mend. Fortunately I don't have to work till Tues. Yippie, my last three days and then back to retirement. Shawnee, LOL none of that darn paint will cover in one coat. Painting a few days takes care of those aches and pains. It sure made my shoulder feel better. Yes we are all afraid of this war, and it's good that you are prepared. Let's hope this is short and they get that evil bast@rd. Roger, So you are a handyman too? It's good that you know how to do plumbing and electric work., since it saves a ton of money. Are you going to get an inspection? It's so exciting that you will have more room and a yard. Keep us posted. Pam, I just love casinos but have never been to Nevada, just Atlantic City. My favorite game is roulette. Loretta, I hope that ticket doesn't cost a fortune. Years ago I got one and learned my lesson. Enjoy the beautiful weather. Shelly, did you get those flowers planted and find a border for your daughter's room? Susan, Are you getting excited about that trip yet? Where are you going to stay... with your son or in a hotel? Off to get a few things done but will check in later. Linda |

Hi everybody,
I feel back to normal today (just mildly NUTS). Ginny, Let us know when your pix of the show and the display case are ready. Have you bought extra space in PhotoIsland or can you still make everything fit? Tou're better than my calendar which erroneously shows Spring as tomorrow...but it's today at 6:04PM....WE MADE IT! Linda, Glad you are feeling a little better, take care though, the Spring relapses can be far worse that the original "hit." I've inspected a couple houses as a favor to others so I can do it myself. Termites aren't much of a concern with all-brick, and water quality and septic system don't come into play with city water and sewerage so it's pretty easy. Only thing I wouldn't trust myself with is title search and title insurance. Bob is working all next week so I will take a bus to sister's and drive her car out to inspect...first nice day. What's a good offer in general...15% less than asked??? (I've never been good with a haggle- I couldn't survive in a country with bazaars.) I "hinted" he stay home last night and he did (no fool) and we cancelled theater plans tonight...I've got 40 gallons of water taking up room in the foyer...lot's of flashlights, batteries, candles. I KNOW there's at least one transistor radio around here SOMEWHERE???? Can't imagine where they are hiding though. Bombing started up again just this minute! Lat night I made delicous tilapia and mashed rutabaga and fried rice. Tonight, the easy way: GORTON'S, stewed tomatoes, and a baked potato. Lot's of fish lately. The cod liver oil I bought tastes really really GOOD! Phonecia holding on with 2 flowers that have been in bloom FOREVER. When she drops these two I'll whack off her stem and give her a Spring vacation!

Hi to all
Zip glad you are going out to look at that house and get to visit with your sister. Hope the weather cooperates next week. I think that 15% less is a good start. You have to find a way to be realistic about the offer and visa-versa. I sure do agree with your thoughts on the war. I pray for all of the innocent victims on both sides. I am a flight type of person yet I cannot condone tyranny either. DO you just take that bp Rx according to your bp? That would be too chancy for me. Ginny we have warm temps 70s but rain on the way this afternoon. Good to have a display case for those trophies and ribbons where they can be proudly be shown off. I sure would light it up. Lets enjoy the fresh air is right. Linda you sure are having some crazy weather. That freezing rain is not good. Yesterday one of my curves was on the highway that I travel. There had been a bad accident and I had to go another route. Rain caused the motorist to hydroplane and caused a death of a 36 yr old gal. There were no other injuries. I had taken DH to the doctor. I was concerned about his feet swelling and his episodes of SOB. (Some congestive heart failure) I have given him extra lasix a time or two and that has helped him but I wanted to make sure that there was not another problem. Doc says ok, middle of the road is good, all things considered. Enjoy your days off and rest up. Shelly your picture is beautiful. What a beautiful face. Glad you got it posted, let’s see more of it. Tink good going on the win. I don’t visit the casinos very frequently. I do remember winning one time on the dollar machines, next day I lost and went to the quarter machines and finally I was looking for the nickel ones. Sounds like you had a very nice shower for Ryan and you got to include our lc cuisine. Shawnee glad that the soreness is getting out of your muscles. Yes I was way out of my habits yesterday. DH cousin came by and for a visit and ended up staying way past my time for supper, we were just having leftovers. They declined an invitation to stay. I ended up being doing dishes late and just off kilter. Susan are you packing up ready to leave? Enjoy. Bad news on the ticket. I stopped at the courthouse and they had me to go and talk to the county attorney. Nice gal but she was giving me sad news. I have to go to court. And she said that the judge is a toughie. My only salvation (if there is one) is that I have not had a ticket here in KY for at least 15 years. I did learn that the fine is about $175. I have to get that &^%$&* lead foot under control. I do need to slow down and that is a fact. I am sure that this is my lesson and penance. I can only plead guilty. Loretta |

Hi again,
Roger, It's great that you are able to inspect the house however do get an attorney to assist with title search and such. It's not a good idea to do it yourself when this is such a huge financial investment and sure worth the money to have it done correctly. Eww, 15 % is a bit high, at least around here. Sometimes the owners are insulted and won't counter offer. You could always give it a try and if you don't hear anything, make another offer. Glad you are feeling back to halfway normal. Loretta, I'm sorry your dh was having some problems and hope he is better today. You take care of yourself too. I just read a post on the playground about photo island stopping free photo storage. Someone got an e mail from them. Did any of you receive a notice? I haven't, but it seems that I'm having a problem receiving e mail in my yahoo account. Two people sent me e mail, and it was returned to them saying I didn't have an account. I haven't been receiving any notices from this site either. Really strange to say the least since I got my CNN breaking news notices. Storage is well below limit too. Any ideas gang? Off to take my son his birthday card. |

Linda I think my PM account is messed up. It says my box if full but even when I go back 100 days there are no messages on display.
My oldest son has a birthday today also. He is coming down on the weekend and we will celebrate then. He has been doing some shopping for me (rye flour) polish sausage etc. My own personal PEA POD delivery person. Loretta |

Good day to everyone.
All is well here. The weather is rainy and mild today. They are forecasting 60s and 70s the next few days. I did get the pansies potted last week and I'm looking forward to planting more in flower beds. Last year I did a mixture of annuals and perennials and need to evaluate what made it through the winter. During the Spring break, I got a lot of cleaning done but decided to leave my daughter's room the way it is. If she would just keep her room picked up.... Hope your day is going great, OrchidCactus! Enjoy the new display case, that sounds nice. Thanks, Loretta, my daughter snapped the picture for me a few days ago. ~ Sorry about the ticket! Sounds like you are really prepared, Zip2Play. I haven't received anything from Photo Island, LoveMontana. I hope it's not true they will no longer offer free web space for pics. They are so easy to use. I've pushed my carbs to almost 100 a couple of days this week and surprisingly the scale is teetering 1/2 pound lower today. I hope to cook up some vegetables and meats this weekend. Would like to share something that happened to me last night. A woohoo moment found me. During a visit to the library, I bumbed into someone whom I hadn't seen in almost 10 years. He spoke and I did also and then he replied, "Doesn't your mom work at xxx?" I stared at him for a moment thinking he was joking and he said it again. To which I replied, "It is me." He proceded to laugh and said, "Girl you look good." The rest of the conversation I kept wondering what I looked like 10 years ago! Add a few more years to my age (33) and I'm sure I'll appreciate his mistake more. ~ Shelly ~ Last edited by ShellyNC : 03-20-2003 at 02:14 PM. |

Good Day to YOU Magnificient Ones!
It has been similar weather to yours Linda, up here. I dont mind this fine rain as long as the temps are getting warmer. It is washing away the sneux. After 3 weeks in Florida, I am hoping it will be all gone when we get back. Hoping to join Loretta, Ginny, Shawnee and Shelly with the planting of the flowers upon my return! 5 days to go. Linda we will be staying with DS we always do! It is more affordable for us that way. We just need to get the airfares and we use our Visa for groceries and meals out, cash for tips, LOL! His home is large enough and well furnished. We are very comfortable with him. We do drive off for day trips to the beach, just 45minutes to Cocoa Beach. We bought a car down there and leave it there. Muriel Golden Years BB) is at Melbourne very close by to Cocoa Beach. Retirement homes in her complex are only $15,000 she said, but you dont own the land, sounds wonderful with 3 pools and a clubhouse etc..... DH is not sure about that lifestyle yet. I sure am! 4 months down there, 8 up here and continue working semi-retired, taking contracts is the way to go these days. It is hustling to get them when you want them thats a problem! I would even like to work a little while I was down there. I guess I will have to take a licence or something to be able to work down there and take out health insurance coverage. Still feeling the benefits from the wonderful massage that I had on Tuesday. I must go more often, it is well worth it! I have waxing tomorrow, I do look forward to that too as a kind of beauty treatment, makes me feel all smooth and clean ready for that spray tan, no sunburn needed here! LOL! Going for lunch with a couple of gals from work tomorrow at a Vegetarian restaurant, we have been there often. Everything is Soooo good. I have to watch some of the dishes as they are topped with mash potatoes and cheese! It is a buffet so I can be selective. The brocolli-tofu dish is wonderful. Pants fitting better today! So want to keep them that way! Shelly a 100 carbs a day! Yikes, thats wonderful and the story about meeting that guy is wonderful too! Susan 122lbs today. |

Gee Shelly,
You've got to tell us more at the XXX-Rated Company...sounds HOT! ![]() Susan, Fill us in, the Florida retirement sounds nice. After the $15,000, how much is the "rent" to cover the land. There are similar places at the Jersey Shore. They are called retirement co-ops The monthly "maintenance" covers taxes, lawn care, outside maintenance like roof, pool. Is the Cocoa Beach place similar? What is the layout like; one or two bedroom, kitchen, LR, bath and patio kind of thing? Linda, My birthday is your retirement day. We can each have a drink to celebrate (...my first in 3 months). ![]() OK, If I like the house I'll undercut by 10%. If they snap it up with an "Oh God, YESSSS!", I'm coming looking for you! [ ]Practicing: "Does it give you a headache looking out those crooked windows?"..."Heck, who needs good water pressure anyway"..."Where's the bathtub that people use?"..."What an amusing creak the floors have?" "Do you run an extension to your neighbor when you want to use several appliances?" Loretta, I dropped you a PM as a test of your system...it's a bit wonky and took forever- maybe the system is ferblungett. I talked about my BP regimen. Have a nice time with your son. Two of my childhood friends were also March 20. Everybody on the block was pregnant at the same time: 2 on March 20, me on March 31 and the late one April 15...lot's of screaming that month in 1943....plus one in June and one in July. Hi Y'all
Ginny, I'd sure take that Sunshine if its offered ....we did have a couple 10- min. sunbreaks today, washed out by rain...the weatherman keeps adding days onto our "wet" sentence...its up to next Tues now. Usually by this time of the year, I have a lot of yard work started; still too wet yet to go mucking about...Went to Home Depot at 9 AM for more paint..WOW, almost had the whole place to myself, think I'll plan more early shopping trips! What are the guys doing in the Handyman Dept. at your place? Good luck on having some great pics when ya get em. If ya need help, send a Smoke Signal..LOL Geez, Montana..FREEZING rain ?? ....stay inside and relax. At least the constant rain here is in the fifties during the day. I guess this painting is becoming good for me, I seem to be toughening up...and all the overhead painting is sure helping tighten up my double-chin! Glad you are on the mend...and have Retirement to look forward to AGAIN! I haven't heard anything from PhotoIsland. My Yahoo has been a pain in the fanny off and on lately, trying to retrieve my mail.Loretta, how sad about that girl in the accident...the age sure hit home for me. Hope your DH is feeling and doing better; some fishing will make him feel perk up! Have a great time with your son when he arrives. Have you heard from your Vet DGS? Great that Son will be stocking you up on those goodies, then you'll be baking up a storm again BUMMER about the cost of the Ticket....maybe try driving with a high heel on your right foot ![]() Shelly, I've found the same thing to be true: Up the carbs a day or two, and drop a pound! How nice your weather sounds, and getting out to plant pansies... ( I'm envious) Your pic is lovely. You are sure young-looking for the Advanced Old Age of 33 ! LOLSusan, are you the same gal who was down in the doldrums a few months back??!!? You have been positively an INSPIRATION lately, with all your cheerfulness..and we are all happy for you. ![]() Enjoy your Lunch with buddies, and resist temtations... ZIP, I sent ya an E-mail re OFFERS...heheee..are you now thinking about a condo in FL ? I think I'll have a drink with you and Montana...In my plundering thru the cabinets, I found an old CO*KTAILS AND MIXED DRINKS book, circa 1979...those were the days..LOL Be well and safe, everyone. One more look see before I go off to lurk.
Loretta, there is a tag that says inbox, click that and you will see sent messages. You have to clear that too. It happened to me and Cheri told me to do that. I think there is a sticky post on the playground about that. Shelly, yes you are young looking for the ripe old age of 33 Isn't it great to have some one compliment you like that. You must look fantastic!Susan, you are going to have a wonderful time in Fla. Glad the son has lots of room. Staying with someone is not something I could do though. I much prefer a hotel. I'm going to get a massage as soon as this job is finished. My girl only works Tues. Wed. and Thrus., the same days I work. Bummer. Roger, I'll drink to that on your BD and my retirement. Oh no!! you will "get" me?? Perhaps you should ask the real estate agent what they think. Back in the early 80's I used to have a licence to sell real estate so that's how I know about people being insulted. Pain in the @ss sometimes. Perhaps things have changed. Shawnee, I envy you those nice temps even though you have rain. It just started raining again and will all day tomorrow. The area has a Flood Warning posted for tonight and tomorrow. Thank heavens we live up on this hill... Oh I hate painting ceilings and high spots, but glad you are getting some exercise and feeling better. Just don't work too hard on it. Eventually it will get done. Off to watch the war. ![]() |
