I've returned to my old diet with some tweaks. Kept the added salt, and some dairy, more nuts. My system really likes it, and the water retention is slowly subsiding. Think life will be much simpler with this.

Sorry Debbie that you're having blood-sugar problems. Hope you can fix it with proper diet. Amazing that someone not overweight would have those issues...

Hi, debbiedo. I don't know how old you are, but as we age, we get worse at handling carbs. You don't eat carbs with a high glycemic index, so you won't see blood sugar spikes, but if your A1c is is going up, the carbs you do eat are not being handled properly. And as you know, even complex carbs will be turned into glucose by the end of digestion. Your BMI may be fine, but you don't have to be overweight to be diabetic. You may be active, but active people can have diabetes. And if you have diabetic relatives, you have a genetic component involved. Please be careful. Some people can get away with eating "healthy" carbs, but some of us can't.

Debbie just keep an eye on that number, I'm sure the doc will. But you seem to be on the right path. Be aware of it is the important thing.

I am at 123.6 but not panicky. With warmer weather, my activity level is increasing and it is easier to eat smaller dinners.

117.4 but was up 2 pounds off and on during the week. I am not eating a lot because I am cutting carbs and can't snack. I haven't precooked in a few days and out of leftovers. Will be a challenge. I just haven't had time. Won't till Tuesday. I will be drinking a lot of protein shakes and eating a lot of eggs.

Hi,
I'm 128 today, after a scary up... one day I forgot my lunch & ate a small bowl of chili... it rocketed my wt. up to 131
I bought a new e-book & started the new diet plan...
The Fast Metabolism Diet/by Haylie Pomroy
Its supposed to heal your metabolism. I'm hoping it will help me on establishing a good maintenance plan. So far, its very similar to the whole-foods way that I eat.

119 today. As low as 118.4 during week. I am stable. I always like 118 as my weight but under 120 is my comfort zone. 122 means it is diet time. So few pounds make a huge difference when you are 5 feet tall.

I have increased my carbs some. Missed my cereal here and there. Still staying away from sugar pretty much and trying to eat less carby veggies,potatoes etc but I still eat them. Even a diabetic diet allows carbs. Hoping I am doing enough to keep Hemoglobin A1C down.
