Well I had a cheat weekend, Lebanese Food Festival, heavenly! So now back to what was. Hate to see what the scale looks like today, but as Pearldrop said, give it a couple of days and should be back down. It was well worth it!!!

Thanks TBipp, I read a lot about IF (mainly on Mark's Daily Apple) and heard it leads to success most of the time. I will give it a try in the future once I am thru my 2-week strict induction phase.

Tilly, congrats! Don't worry, they are all water weight and will be gone in a jiffy.
I started strict induction, this is day#3 and OMG it is sooo hard.
I even have to watch my hwc and butter consumption, and even just 2 eggplants cover all allowed carbs (12-15 grams) from vegetables and 75% of the daily limit...
Nothing has changed on the scale yet. Hopefully, I will start seeing some results after day#7.
Wish me luck girls.

I first heard of IF on Mark's Daily Apple also which led to more research. It seemed from what I found that IF does not work that well for weight loss but is better for Maintenance. Your results may differ.

Definately, good luck! Since you are being that strict I KNOW you will see results. I don't know how long it takes but please keep us posted. And keep up the great work on strict induction!!!!

Finally, I broke it off Name of the magic is "Meat/Egg Fast".
I did it for 2 days. First day I had 3 eggs omelet in butter served with a little mayo and mustard and after 2-3 hours I started having hot flashes so much that my cheeks were red. When I weighed myself midday 0.9 lb was already gone. I drank lots of water. Ate only home cooked meat(grilled, oven baked, boiled, etc), eggs, fat (butter, oil, mayo), and spices (salt, pepper, yellow mustard). I drank 2 coke zero each day and no coffee/tea. Chew 2 sticks sf gum each day, and I even had 2 sf candies (GoLightly) on day#2. First day I went shopping as cardio, second day I hit the gym for 60 mins but my energy was much lower.
After day#1: -2.65 lbs (compared to the beginning)
After day#2: -3.75 lbs

It's very good, huh?
And I am a very slow loser. It takes forever to lose a lb.
I am so loving this and am planning to apply a day of it whenever I feel like I am out of control.
The amazing thing is my tummy was too swollen before these 2 days, and although eating protein all the time made me constipated, tummy was gone immediately. Most probably I had a stubborn inflammation on my gut and this helped me to get rid of it.

But, I think people with high cholesterol and heart/blood pressure problems should be careful as the hot flashes are sometimes unbearable even for a healthy person.

Did you gals ever try this fast?

Yes, many do the m/e w. good success. Glad it worked well for you!! Watch when you add more fiber back in. There is sometimes a little rebound gain, basic volume in your tummy. The loss should stick if you stay LC. Good job!!

Do you think IF woudl work as well if you had a late lunch, say 3PM, and then fasted until 9am the next morning? Never really tried IF before. Hmm. "food" for thought . Thanks!

I think this strategy would work nicely. From what I read, the goal is to not eat for 18-19 hours and finishing lunch by 3 p.m. and no breakfast until 9 a.m. the next day would meet the 18 hour goal.

By the way, one reason I decided to try IF is because in early March I had a screening colonoscopy (TMI, I know) for the first time. I was sure I would be dying of hunger all day, and you know what? I was fine! When I was hungry, I had a cup of hot broth and it worked great. When I tried JUDD though with 500 calories, I was miserable and thought of food all day.

Skipping dinner worked much better; however, everyone is different so my strategy may not be comfortable for some. There are others that practice IF by skipping breakfast and lunch, but this was not an attractive option for me. I would be sitting at my computer all day thinking of food! I would rather go to bed and sleep though it!

Thank you Julie. Actually it stayed off, although my TOM is just around the corner. I try to keep my net carb amount less than 20g and almost all of them from vegetables.
I am going to have cheat day tomorrow (date night with hubby ) and planning to have a M/E fast day afterwards.
Let's see if it will decrease the damage done on cheat day

New to this board, and need advice!!!

Hey there, My name is Carol, and i am new to this board. I have only been doing LCing for about a month now. I guess I am following PP for my plan, and for the 1st 2 weeks was losing weight. I hit 125 a week ago, and then for some unexplained reason, went back up to 127. I have stopped standing on the scale daily b/c it makes me crazy if I don't see progress. I have loosely calculated my daily caloric intake to hover around 1500 to 1800 calories. I keep carbs under 30 per day, and am careful to weigh portions.

My goal is 115, but I feel soo frustrated that I have stalled at 126. Any suggestions? I have cut out all but one cup of coffee in the morning, and am drinking about 80 oz. of water daily. Maybe I should trying intermittent fasting or very low calorie days? I run 3 days and week, and have started yoga 2 days a week. Help with suggestions would be great!!

I was one of the very lucky ones that did not stall so unfortunately, I have no advice to share. I would look on some of the other forums here on lowcarbfriends and also google for the information. I have seen several lists of ideas of what to do when you reach a stall so I know the information is available. Dana Carpender has a list in her book; however, I loaned it to a friend so cannot provide her list. Good luck and let us know what happens.

Hi, you can try the followings in order to break a stall/plateau:
* increase your exercise intensity or routine for a while
* eliminate inflammatory foods one by one (diary-cheese, sweeteners, etc)
* do 1-3 days egg/meat fast

These worked for me.
Hope they help you too.
Good luck.

If you're 'stalled' at 125 lbs, I would guess that your current caloric level maintains your weight, and you no longer have a deficit for loss.

Regardless of how low you keep your carbs, we don't lose unless we have a caloric deficit. As we get smaller, our body requires less food. As I lost weight, I had to progressively reduce my portions (calories).

What the caloric level is to get to 115 lbs would depend on the individual, but keep in mind that the level you're eating at when you get to goal won't differ radically from how you need to eat to maintain that weight.

That is, if you find that you must cut calories too drastically for comfort to get to any specific weight, it's time to re-think your "goal" because it may be a weight than you can't maintain.

Same here.

I am 134.6 as of this morning. Mini goal is 132 (end of this month)
And over the next 2 weeks get down to 130.

I have been doing Stillmans for 6 days, then one day adding in a few more carbs and fats. It is the ONLY thing that was working for me well.
Tried induction, vlc, IF and a few other crazy things.

After I hit goal, I plan to go on induction for a week or so to balance everything out, then GENTLY back to my normal 40g carbs/day. The weight I put on was from bad health over the winter.
