SUNDAY 2nd of March!

Good Morning Maintainers!

A fresh snowfall up here this morning but milder temps. I think we are going into the PLUS side for once in a long time. It is to be plus 1 Celsius this aft. So gonna get me out that door again. I have 3 days walking in a row now under my belt, thanks to the prompting of "the cheerleading team" you guys last week. Feeling the benefits this morning. Thank YOU I needed that!

DH was up and out early to a Soccer Game via sateilite(sp) at a Pub half way across the City. His team is in the finals. I dont follow it, so only half-listen to this stuff. He still plays old timers, when the season gets going again. He has for the past 18 years, he likes to play coach/manager role.

Yep, my childhood was a full one. Thanks to my Mom. My parents were older when they had me and I was the only child, the baby, as they both had children from previous marriages, both parents were widowed, met during the war, married and had me 8 years later, so Dad was 49 Mom 42 when I was born. A surprise! and I came at Christmas Eve! So everyday they had me "in" something after school. Mom died when I was 13, so most of this stopped then. The vacations to Europe too. Dad was in a different world for a while. He was 62 and had to raise a 13 year old girl in the 1960's......imagine! I think he did a good job and he lived till he was 91.

I was looking at the date to start the Post and noticed tomorrow will be all 3's! 03-03-03

Waving to ya'all. I'll be back.....as Arnie says!

Hi Susan and everyone:

I found some games taht can be played at a 60th Birthday Party (Dear God don't let it happen):

1)Sag!You're it!
2)Pin the toupee on the bald guy.
3)20 questions shouted in your good ear.
4)Kick the bucket
5)Red Rover, Red Rover, the nurse says bend over.
6)Doc, Doc, goose
7)Simon Says something incoherent
8)Musical recliners
9)Spin the bottle of Mylanta
10)Hide and go pee

I hope this brought a little giggle into your day.

"Rain Rain you can stay,
Zip must write so he can't play!"

Jesus, back to the deep freeze again tomorrow...a HIGH of 28°- there is no END to this.

Later gater!

Hey gang!

Just a quickie here for this morning. Got to get my nerve up to brave the wilds of Wallyworld. Need to do it quick before the crowds hit and I have a larger chance of going postal on someone LOL!

Cooler today for us, only in the 40's per the weather forecast. Will be glad when spring shows up--I'd much rather be hot than cold.

Off to lurk for a bit, then time to roll. Everyone have a safe and fun Sunday!

Morning everyone,

God Bless your dad for having the strength to raise a girl child by himself during the 60's at his age Susan. Wow!

Milder temps up there? Please send them south east. Right now we have freezing rain and sneaux showers. Ugh.

Enjoy your walk. I am NOT going out till this crap stops.

LMAO Roger, Guess I'll be playing those games this June at my big 60's party if I can remember.

Keep those interesting and very well written reviews coming. We all really enjoy them.

Ginny, Hopefully Wally world won't be too crowded. Enjoy.

Loretta, Shawnee, Pam, How is it going?

Shelly, it was good to hear from you. I'm not much into the names of flowers either, but do love them. I just don't have a green thumb at all. DH said I could kill off a silk cactus.

Everyone have a good one.
Later,
Linda

Hi to you early birds. DH and I are having a very nice Sunday. As usual he fixed by breakfast this morning. What a luxury. I bask in his attention.

Glad to hear from you Shelly. I bet NC is about the warmest climate we hear from. I think all of our regulars are not that far south. Interesting about your weight. I have not done daily weight for quite a while. I just try to stick to once a month. So far so good with that approach. I keep my hair short but the last cut was just way to short and next week I am opting for someone else to do the cutting. I have been searching since my other gal left to marry someone she met on the internet.

Glad you enjoyed that parade Linda except for that weather. I listened to the bagpipe music from the website you gave us. Quite different music. Get those pipes out of the closet and tune them up. Too bad about the moms not getting there for dinner. I am working on my mashed cauliflower today. Dh is getting nervous about another "experiment". "Too old for this stuff."
He gets nervous just as soon as he hears me in the kitchen making noise.

Thanks Zip for the play reading. Enjoyable reading and at least we can attend through your eyes. I love your 60th birthday party plans but I think 60 is way to young for some of those, maybe 80s. I used to think that the 8th graders were old when I was in 1st grade. I sure have changed my thinking on that. I guess if we live long enough some or all of those will be heaped upon us.

Susan God love your dad for raising you and beginning at 13 yrs old. A tough age for most. Both the parent and the child. He sure lived to a nice age too. How is your Oliver doing? Were you able to get out to walk at all?

Shawnee you have Daffy's already blooming? How nice. I checked out local fare when I was walking and they are not up much higher than they were a few days ago. NO sunshine.
Hope the kitchen project is not going to keep you from baking and experimenting in your kitchen. I cannot believe how tasty my fallen WW cake is. Just eggs, splenda, flavor and some powdered milk. That milk might make it a little carby but not bad. The strawberries I have been buying are from Fla and they really have a good taste. I guess I don't worry about the bank withdrawals because it is just our local utilities.

Ginny Shamoo is just sick. Some of her petals are falling off. I guess orchid growing in not meant to be. I will stick with my hardy pathos and just a few of them at that. Hope you find all you are looking for at your wm. I noticed when I was at the one in the CITY they sure have a larger selection of the same items. Like the Knox gel in smaller or larger quantity boxes. Sometimes the prices of identical items are different also.

Tink you are probably busy enjoying those grand brats today. How did the Cinderella pageant go? Any pics of those beauties?

Later

Hello again everyone. Guess I should've waited this morning and posted on today's bulletin instead of yesterday's. Sundays I get up early and am usually gone most of the day. Church was great and we did get to eat dinner out like I'd hoped and are now about to watch a movie or two. Susan, we rented Bloodwork.

Hope all enjoy the evening.

Me again! I survived Wallyworld, and so did everyone else!

Loretta, if the leaves are falling off the canes, don't worry too much. You should soon see a new growth starting at the bottom, and it will be a new shoot coming up. Dends will shed their leaves. Some are deciduous, and only the new canes that haven't bloomed will have leaves. Then in the spring, they shed them and bloom from the leaf axils (have one budding fast and furious right now!) Just wait and see what happens with Shamoo, and if my guess is right, you will be pleased!

Shelly, glad you're back with us. You'll find out, if we don't get the proper nose count we get worried about our little band! Nice for y'all to have a meal out like that, makes for a relaxing day.

Linda, ick yuck on your sneaux/rain situation. Y'all really have gotten nailed this winter. Stay in and stay warm, plenty of time to be outside when it gets pretty.

Susan, good for you on your walks! A fresh sneaux is sure pretty (albeit cold) and I don't mind seeing pics of it LOL! Bundle up good and enjoy the exercise. Your dad sure had an adjustment, being a single parent of a 13 yr. old girl. Especially in the 60's when things were changing so much! But it sounds like he did a great job to me!

Zip, those games would be a hoot--but how do you pick which bald guy? Hope you're relaxing a bit today. How's the back after lugging that pantry around?

Shawnee, don't forget to check in with us today!

Pam, hope the visit with family was fun, don't forget to relax a bit too.

Well, off to lurk a bit...

Gee Ginny thanks for the news on Shamoo. I was ready to call myself and Orchid Failure. Maybe she is just readjusting. I will be patient with her.

Cauliflower potatoes good so far. I baked a 16 oz bag of the frozen in a pyrex oven dish for about 45 min, no water. They sure did dry out. No butter or cream, just some (3oz cream cheese) mixed with 1/2 package of Hidden Valley Ranch drsg.
oh and salt and pepper. I used my wand to beat them thoroughly. They taste good cold. Will bake for supper in micorwave. Let you know in a little bit about the final product. I got the advice from others on the bb. A combination of several gals hints.

Loretta
Edited to add. Good tasting Mock Mashed Potatoes. No moisture. Good texture. I put butter on them at serving time. Next try with left over xgum gravy from beef stew. tomorrow.

Hi Y'all

Back to rainy day blues here, after a stunning Spring preview yesterday.

Hi Shelly, glad to see you back..believe you are the youngest in this clan so far..

ZIP, Thanks for the entertainment. SAG is a four letter word to me...

Loretta, another Masterpiece in your collection, with that Mock Spud stuff. I am doing that French Chicken tonight, simmered in garlic, onion and wine..then topped with the cream cheese sauce made in the simmered juices. I will look at the Strawberries tomorrow, saw an ad for a decent price if the berries are not green/rotten..LOL

Ginny, what are the guys building at your place? Any great bargains at WW?

Tink, bet you are happily exhausted after a week-end with family.

Montana, what have you been cooking/experimenting with?

Susan, your high spirits are appreciated.

Geez Guys, I'm too tired to think tonight, so will catch up with y'all tomorrow. Gotta check to see if that French Chick is ready to be sauced and plated. Pretty asparagus will be its companion, at a new low of 99 cents a pound..plus a few baby carrots....should be colorful, anyway. Have a good night.
