Maintainers' Menus: daily food intake
One of the things I enjoy about reading the Maintainers' Sub-forum is that there are so many ways to be a successful maintainer, and wonderful variety in what folks eat. I have yet to read of any two maintainers being on the same food plan.

Perhaps it would be of use to others to see what Maintainers eat.

If you would like to post what you eat on any day, it might be a help or inspiration to others. :)

Today's food for me:

Tea w/ hwc and pastured butter
B: Veal brains cooked in pastured butter with lemon balm and black pepper.
L: Beef bacon and liver with fresh chives, cooked in pastured butter and coconut oil, with black pepper. Decaf coffee w/ hwc.
S: HB egg yolks, with brie, and yoghurt made from cream.

Today .. 1950 calories, 52 net carbs
(typical .. although I am on a cheddar kick this week)

chocolate coconut bark with pecans and protein powder
coffee and 1% milk

Morning snack:
peanut butter and whey protein powder

fried daikon radish patties (daikon, egg, carbquik, olive oil, cheddar)
chocolate coconut bark with pecans and protein powder
coffee and 1% milk

Afternoon Snack:
flax muffin (no egg recipe)
2T whip cream or sf jam
herbal tea

Fried cabbage, cheddar, and butter
chocolate coconut bark with pecans and protein powder
herbal tea

TaDA, how much bark do you eat in a day? I started getting cravings for sweets after adding it to my daily food. I've since taken out the sweetener & added peanut butter. Still working on losing the weight.

Well ... can't speak for what I will eat for today yet but here is what I had yesterday :p

Breakfast: 2 eggs scrambled in butter with a small sausage patty and 2 small slices of bacon

Lunch: protein drink (I still like them :))

Snack: a bit of Pistachio nuts

Dinner: Beef fajita's served on romaine lettuce "tortilla's" with a dab of sour cream and spicy salsa

Snack: Glass of red wine :D

My carb count has drifted up from a net of 10 carbs to closer to 20-25 a day. I just couldn't get enough calories in otherwise to stop losing weight. But things seem to have reached a nice equalibrium now and I am stay real close to 175 pounds nearly every day.

L: Grass-fed beef burger, raw celery root.
S: Veal brains and brie, with fresh herbs and black pepper.

5:00am 2.5 c coffee, HWC
6:30 8oz plain full fat yogurt
9:00 2T chia soaked in water, 2T coconut oil w/ peanut butter, bit of cocoa mixed in, 3/4 apple
10:00 2 small slices flax bread, 2 oz cheese, bit of green onion, 8oz almond milk
1:30pm 2/3c Greek yogurt
4:00pm quiche, mixed roasted veg, coleslaw w/ sour cream dressing
8:00pm 2/3c Greek yogurt

Heidi ... Three 1-oz pieces (has pecans, coconut shreds and whey protein powder in it too). I also have a flax muffin. I have never had a problem with lc sweets and cravings .. also I haven't had sugar in 8 years..

When I was losing weight particular foods could trigger problems .. like peanuts for example .. now I find it is not the food being around, or me eating it in small quantity, but rather my emotions at a particular time and then I will binge on anything.

I think I'm addicted to erythritol, the only good tasting sugar alternative I have found. I have googled it & can find no problems w/ it as far as safety. I have to really watch myself to use only moderate amounts. If I bake something w/ it I immediately freeze a portion & that seems to help. I am going to work on getting in back in my bark & still stay in control.

L: Beef bacon and beef liver, with fresh chives and lemon balm, black pepper. Fresh lemon juice in water.

Yesterday was ...

Breatfast: 2 eggs scrambled in butter with bacon and sausage on the side (I have this most every morning since I was a kid!)

Lunch: Roasted chicken (the kind you buy from the Costco) (~1/4 of it)

Dinner: 3 hotdogs with halvarti cheese on them served in a romaine lettuce "bun" with mustard

Snack: Couple of MG64 beers :p

I like to use romaine lettuce as my substitute for bread / tortillas. It has a natural long and curved shape. As a matter of fact, I will likely make some taco meat tonight and use romaine as the taco shell with sliced avocado and some sour cream on top. Combine that with sugar free margurita mix for nice marguritas and I am good to go ... I don't have a sweet tooth; I have an alcohol tooth :D

Exactly my situation.

My meals are pretty much the same every day.

Breakfast: 3 egg yolks scrambled in 1 Tbsp coconut oil, shredded cheese
mixed in. 2 pieces bacon.

Lunch: 3-4 oz braunschweiger with either 1.5 oz mixed nuts or 4 oz HWC.

Dinner is various meat, often 73-27 groung beef. Occassionally I'll add a green veg.

Average is about 1900 calories. 10-20 carbs.

B: blueberry 80 cal yogurt w/1/4 cup of fresh blueberries added
oatmeal: 1/4 cup oats, 2 t brown sugar, 1 slim pat butter
1/4 cup vanilla almond milk, unsweetened
1 egg, over easy
2 mugs coffee w/half & half
L: 4 oz salad of baby spinach & romaine lettuce, mixed, w/walnut chunks &
dried cranberries, 4 oz chicken breast meat, and s/f raspberry vinaigrette
1 cup chicken consomme
4 oz. pared apple w/1 oz sharp cheddar cheese
big glass of iced tea
S: 3 oz. steamed yams
1 c green bean pieces
2 tilapia fillet, broiled, w/lemon pepper & dried parsley & lemon juice
3 oz cabbage slaw mix w/dressing of lite mayo & half & half
water/w Ocean Spray s/f drink mix

****** says about 1,315 calories and 90 carbs

JUDDD Down Day today.

B: 2 mugs of coffee w/4 tbsp half & half
L: vegetable beef soup plus additional beef broth - 18 oz. total
salad- lettuce, tomato, can of tuna, 2 tbsp lite Italian dressing
S: omlette scramble- 1 egg, 4 egg whites, 2 oz fresh spinach
Late Evening: 1 slice 40 cal bread (split in two) w/1 tbsp peanut butter mixed
w/2 tbsp Walden Farms 0 cal peanut butter

****** says 688 calories and 36 carbs

L: Roast beef from crock pot, cooked with green onions and celery, dab of butter and black pepper. Fresh lemon juice in water.
S: same as lunch, perhaps a bit of brie or sour cream w/ unsw. coconut

I like seeing the variety of menus.

Here's my day.
B: coffee with half and half
L: a handfull of almonds and a hard boiled egg
D: (my main meal of the day) a huge dinner salad with lettuces, onions, mushroom, cheese and dressing. Then grilled salmon with grilled green onions, green beans with garlic, tomato slices, red wine.
Dessert: (not every day, mind you) sugar free whipped cream with dark chocolate and just a few more almonds

LOL I love having a place to post and keep track of my menus where I can feel free to post my diet at the levels and foods I'm eating now.

Reading the menus that others share is so interesting, and gives me some ideas for meals that sound interesting for my future grocery list and menus too.

Today, May 1st, is a JUDDD Up Day for me.
Planned menu:

B: 1/4 C blueberries in 80-cal blueberry yogurt
1 40-cal bread, toasted and split into two slices, w/butter & low sugar
black currant fruit spread
2 eggs, scrambled
3 mugs coffee w/half & half
L: shirataki noodle "bruschetta" with olive oil, chopped tomato, green onion,
fresh garlic clove, black olive slices, and chopped fresh spinach, parsley,
and Italian spices
2 glasses iced tea
S: 8 oz roasted chicken, meat
1 C green beans
4 oz Brussels sprouts
Ocean Spray s/f drink mix
ES: (evening snack) -- blender milkshake
Carb Countdown choc milk, unsweetened choc & vanilla almond milks,
unsweetened cocoa powder, s/f choc syrup & ice

****** says 1,567 calories and 70 net carbs

OK, I have to add a few items.
After breakfast I had 1 small piece of coconut bark.
Prior to starting dinner preps I had 2/3c Greek yogurt.
After dinner we split a 2 minute pound cake 3 ways, topped w/ whipped cream.

B: Eggs scrambled with butter and bacon with a patty of sausage
L: Mixed green salad with some grilled chicken breast and a low cal dressing
D: Steak and a small hunk of aged cheese
S: Glass of red wine and some pistachio nuts

About 20 -25 net carbs
