Good morning,
Last 2 days has been a Mexican rice sort of thing w/ tomatoes & vegetables & ground beef. I am still using up food I had in high carb days. Salad w/ tomatoes & cole slaw.

Weight is slightly under 107, so I am doing pretty well. Keeping to my exercise schedule. Suffering from the unrelenting heat.

Happy Monday. I think I skipped a day.

Saturday was catfish, I fried hubby & mom's. I baked mine.
Sunday was hot dogs & the usual slaw & tomatoes.

Supposed to have 97 for a high tomorrow. Not easy to stay cool unless you dont go outside. Not an option for us fit & healthy people w/ chores.

Onion & pepper quiche yesterday, but I forgot to add the cheese. Had to put some on top. I ate tons of tomatoes from the garden, will have to start freezing them pretty soon. The Romas dont have a core, too easy to eat!

Well yesterday we had baked salmon w/ broccoli & green beans. A giant tomato also.
This weather is good for the garden but not for people & animals. Has a New Orleans feel to it. I am afraid to think what August will bring.

Yesterday I made a Crack Slaw w/ broccoli shreds. None of us liked it. I think it would have been better w/ some kind of seafood instead of ground beef. Also had a voluntary cantaloupe from the garden & some cherries. A big fruit day for me.

Looking forward to cooler weather. Seven more weeks or so.

L: Beef bacon, eggs, chives, cheddar cheese, all braised in beef broth, (experimented with eating whole eggs today rather than just the yolks), marinated cucumbers

Yep, it's hot. I walk just before sunrise. Callanetics, senior yoga and stretches today as well as the walk. May rebound a few minutes, too.

Here in LV we walk at 6am.....we are resisting an urge to switch to an indoor activity..this week we realized we are limited to 60 min...we do the incline and stairs..and now use our camelbacks to keep hydrated.. we have decided that we will do a full 5 days of our routine..we will up to 90 min again in mid Sept....

Ok overdid a bit last night..I feel bloated..I think from all the sodium in the Japanese food..I had abt 1/4 c of frozen yoghurt, later I realized it was nonfat..ugh! the nonfat stuff gives me a stomach ache...even less than 1/4 cup..There are 3 couples in our monthly datenight group..all are normal wt.or slender....all are physically active..and in their mid 50's..I watched last night and there were some eating similarities...no one was in the clean plate club....requesting modification of the menu items was assumed...everyone requested water..and drank it..along with their wine.....all but 1 of us took home a BIG portion of their meal..when we went to the froz. yogurt shop, the women took a spoonful or 2 of their husbands' yogurt and then stopped...no one went hog wild assembling their yogurt..portion small ..additions limited...( I watched people go wild on the amt of yogurt and additions.).I now know I dont want the yogurt...the small amt I had didnt trigger cravings..but the stomach ache wasnt worth it

To girl 81,
I eat all day long . I quit writing it down as it is pretty much the same every day. I actually eat 4 snacks, brunch & dinner. I have noticed that people tending to the vegetarian side of low carb tend to eat frequently. I dont wait to get hungry.

Snacks are usually yogurt, Greek & homemade. Sometimes I mix peanut butter & coconut oil & have that w/ almond milk. I eat ground chia several times per week w/ almond milk. I sometimes have fruit before I exercise.

Last nite's dinner was roast turkey roll w/ squash, gr beans & peas. Also had gazpacho, which I have not had in ages. My garden is overflowing right now. I pickled 6 jars of peppers.

Sorry, I cant grow squash of any kind. Squash bugs & borers thrive in the heat & humidity & my squash & pumpkin plants die as soon as they flower.. Its tomatoes, pepper & okra for me, the easy stuff you can grow organicly.
