Mornin' skinny bunch!
Just a quickie here again for me. After eating like a bad, bad girl yesterday, today gets me back on track. DR made carmel rolls, and INDULGE was the word for the day. Cold today, with chance of sneaux tonight. Ick. Hope eveyone has a wonderful day--I'll try! |

EWWWWOOOO Ginny, It would take will power of steel to keep me from eating one of those carmel rolls. I bet they were wonderful though.
Does DR know you are low carbing? If so maybe you can show him the recipe room. I bet he can do wonders with some of the stuff in there. It's snowing again, and I'm SICK of it!! I wanted to go to the IRS and pick up tax forms and publications but there is no getting off this hill today for me. Guess I'll just kick back and be a lazy bum today. It's back to work tomorrow IF the roads are ok. Shawnee and Loretta, maybe I should try to bake something using your great recipes. After seeing Zip's key lime pie, I'm really wanting some but don't have the lime juice. Drat! Pam and Shelly, where the heck are you two. Susan, are you back to work today? I'm off to lurk but will check back later. Linda |

Ahh, no work today. Saturday, a future groom took, count 'em, 3 hours to pick out his tux! Picky, picky, picky. I wanted to tell him to hurry up, already, because I had to pee! Poor bride. My friend/owner of the boutique has very tempting goodies in the deli section. Confections, caupicinos (sp), latte's, etc. She's moving 2 doors down within a few months. The square footage is almost twice the size as the current site. Yesterday was a little more key. Just some high school guys selecting their winter formal tuxes. ~ DD is feeling pretty uncomfortable now. She's 7 months, and carrying the baby pretty low. Baby shower is March 15th. March 1st, 3 grandbrat DGS's are going to be in the Cinderella pageant. It'll be at the Embassy Suites here in Tahoe.
Ginny--Ooh, caramel rols! Could DR do them low carb? Sneaux, ugh. They keep saying snow here, but it hasn't materialized. Linda--I bet you ARE sick of that snow. Don't chance it tomorrow if the weather is bad. I liked the pictures you posted. The room looks so bright and airy. Hello to you guys. Check in!

Hi Guys,
I am just back home after the Monday group. Have (6) smoke-free in this group. I brought pink carnations for them today, individually wrapped with a sprig of fern. We do this everytime a little half way through the group, to remind them that their lungs will be pink again soon, the fern represent the cilia that will be working again soon wafting those nasties out of the lungs and that it is a living thing, just like they are, to keep alive this week. Everyone is hanging in there. The weather was -19C this morning -27C with the Windchill, still lots of white stuff down. Went up to a high of -12 this aft. Pam: LOL! you had to pee! I guess so! Glad you have some time to yourself now. Watch out for the tempting goodies at work. Hope that your daughter can find a comfortable position for these last few weeks. Is this her first? Congratulations on being a GM. DD is giving it one more year then proceeding to adoption. She has been trying for 6 years now. Linda: I know the sneux stuff gets old about now! Roll on Spring 26 DAYS! Gotta find 26 chores to keep me going! Ginny: I guess this BB serves as True Confessions too! LOL! Yep, I think we all have a weakness in one form or another. What is great is that YOU are right back at it today! Good for you! Hey, Zip, Shawnee, Loretta, Shelley and our Lurker, check in soon, I'll pop back later tonight! |

Gee, hit the back arrow and BAAAM went the post. At least it was short.
Nothing much today. Went to ShopRite and gpt their rotisserie chicken for dinner. God at $3.99, why cook? Will make Harvard Beets and Cous-cous (love the stuff) Caramel Rolls sound delicious ginny. Linda, I just heard about the coming snow...nuts a neighbor was driving me over to Home Depot Wednesday to pick up a pantry...IF IT DOESN'T SNOW...DRAT! Why not call the IRS for forms...or order on-line (I've done both-calling is a LOT easier)...takes 10 days. Some Kefir babies going on a trip. Bob will take a bunch to the office tomorrow...somebody from Sloan Kettering will pick them up and drive them to a guy in the POCONOS....LOL, sounds like Agent 007 (stirred not shaken). My grains will take over the world...like the pods in INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS (the black and white version of course.) Susan, do resident aliens get medical care in Canada? You can see what's on our minds these days. That's about the long and short of it. Til tomorrow unless something exciting happens...yeah, right!

Susan--It is a wonderful thing to give the pink carnations with fern, and very significent. DH coughs so much lately, more than likely cigarette smoking related. Guess I shouldn't rag on him, as I still smoke. But wimpy cigarettes, as if that's an excuse. This will be the 4th grand-child. Actually, the 13 yr. old is older DD's step-daughter, but lives with them, and is considered a grand-daughter. The new baby will be the first boy born in our family in 30 years.
Zip--That was quite a good deal on that chicken. Sometimes it IS cheaper than cooking. |

Hi, Y'all
Well, I am joining you frozen folk ..our area plopped down to 19* last night, expected even lower tonight...and the ..uh,..uh,..*SNEAUX* word was mentioned as a possibility soon..POOH! The Primroses on the front porch are lookin' pretty sad, droopy and semi-frosted. They will probably recover.Goddess Gin! Carmel stuff! ...can I smell your breath? I know your DR is a fab cook/baker...and just a whiff of those rolls would have me rolling around in estascy. If you hadn't tried them, I'd be worrying that you'd become an inanimate object with no sense of smell. Even Goddesses are human too...LOLTink, LOL about that picky groom...I'd think most guys just want to get something appropriate, and get the heck out.. Oh, just a couple more months before that new Grandson makes his grand entry Blessings to your DD, the last of a pregnancy can get to be a real drag. Luckily the weather will not turn hot before she delivers. Montana, please don't be in a hurry to get on the road...for Lime, tax papers, or work..we don't want you in a ditch! We need you safe and sound, so no road-rodeo stuff. ![]() Susan, how thoughtful and inspiring those carnations and their connotations are...I appreciate symbolic gifts, and remember the meaning long after the occasion...You have a great success rate because you lead with your heart as well as your head. ![]() Right on with the chicken, ZIP. Usually its $5.99 here, on sale @ $4.99. Last night I baked 9 skinless breasts smothered with Alfredo sauce...some expensive stuff I got for dirt at the Discount Joint,,can't remember the brand, but only 4 carbs per 1/4 cup..and a little went a long way. They were even better today, and the leftovers are freezer-bound, cause after 2 meals, they might wear out their welcome. Any PIE left???? Will the Kefir babies be getting a champagne Bob Voyage party? Phonecia could handle the Decorations...come as she is.. OK, anyone have a clue on Loretta's whereabouts? Montana, did she mention any plans to you? As she says, don't make us "fret" over the absent ones who miss roll call... Shelly, are you home yet? Keep warm Shawnee |

Hi again,
Pam, Mother of Pearl! It must have been some anxious and maybe already hen pecked groom to take that long to pick out his Tux. Either that or his poor bride is going to have a really tough time with that guy. Your poor dd. Those last months are not fun at all. Makes me wonder why some of us did it more than once. Roger, I called the IRS today and will get those forms in 10 days. Boy, sometimes the phone is much easier to use than this internet. Good deal on the chicken. Our local places all sell it for $4.99 but Sam's has it for 3.99 every once in a great while. Hope the kefir grains have a safe trip. One of these days I'll make a run down there to take some off your hands. I'm not sure just how much snow we are in for, but perhaps it's just a dusting and your trip to Home Depot won't be cancelled. Susan, What a wonderful thing for your patients to get a carnation and fern to celebrate their success. 26 days and counting. God, I'm sick of this. Shawnee, I saw Loretta post on the golden around noon today. Wonder why she didn't stop in here, humm. Maybe she will show up before bed. Ewww, sorry about the cold temps there. My brother in Montana said a front was moving in today. Hope the primroses survive the cold. I made some of your Greek cookies today and boy are they wonderful. I would tell you which ones I made, but the recipe is up stairs and I'm not sure I would get the spelling right. LOL the K ones. In my younger days I could remember how to spell those.Let's see if I can get the picture of our tiny kitchen up here. It's not too good but you can get the idea of "mudpie" brown above the countertops. ![]() ![]() Last edited by LoveMontana : 02-24-2003 at 08:49 PM. |

No Loretta yet huh?
Montana, I worry about her, she is so faithful about posting. I hope she is just tied up with company or an Event...possible she lost power, too. Haha, I vaguely remember about the K Greek cookies..that was some months back, glad they turned out tastey. ...I still do not have my recipes in order, just keep adding to the pile(S)...LOL..DH bought me 3 huge ringbinder notebooks, and a professional hole puncher from an Office Supply..about half are in..but I did get rid of a bunch of OLD ones..from when I first started, and was using SOY..ugh..they weren't even worth transposing to substitutions. I was thinking about Cookies tonight, and realized I'd let my idea of Spritz ones kinda slide.....need to start experimenting there again..I really wanna play with that Cookie Press gun. Just gotta find the right combo of fake flours that won't plug up the design discs. Boy, GLUTEN would glue them up for sure.Sorry to say...PhotoIsland is screwy again; your pics are red X'd. I went into their Properties, cut and pasted the addy...just got "PAGE UNAVAILABLE" BS...must be overloaded again. ![]() I wondered how long it would take you to wade into that Mad Mom's Rant on the Main...LOL..was pleased to see there were ony a few who refused to "get it"...better odds than some of the previous heated Soy threads...things are looking up ![]() |

God Shawnee, I worry about her too. Funny she hasn't posted yet here tonight. I hope she is tied up with company or something. Sure wish I had her phone number. Maybe we all should start a "check on each other" phone thingy if one or more of us don't show up. I am willing to pm my phone number to any of you if you want to exchange them.
If I weren't so damned lazy I'd go get the recipe and post the correct name cause they were really good. I had to hide them deep in the freezer to keep Gerard away from them. Tomorrow night when I get home from work ( if I can remember) I'll put the recipe up for you. I'm sure you will find the right combo of flours to make your sprits cookies. God, where do you find the energy? LOL I couldn't resist posting to that thread, but I finally unsubscribed to it when that young fool ( or more than one) started their BS with "for every negative study, blah, blah" Gotta learn to bite my tongue more often, I guess. No big loss with the pics of my kitchen. It's really small but efficient for the two of us. Photo Island is a royal pain in the a$$ sometimes. Cheri uses Boomspeed.com and I just signed up for their free thingy. We shall see how that works. Off to lurk a bit. |
