Down and Up and Up and Down

Hi All,

Today I am slightly frustrated with myself, again up to 148! It was just a month or so that I was cruisin' along, staying around 142 or so, and I started to think hey, maybe Im getting this! Then I see that Im not....or maybe it's usual to gain a bit then cut back and lose a bit?

Ideas?

Bella

I can feel your frustration. In my experience, losing was easy. I fluctuate more while trying to maintain. Drives me nuts. I also find that sodium usually the culprit if I go back over my menus or over consumption of cream cheese and peanut butter. We know what to do... we just need to keep plugging along. Good luck and just tell yourself it is temporary!

Thanks, I hope so!

I wonder why I always add nuts back in, almond butter and 1/2 nut bar daily, and then am surprised when I have slow weight gain!

I always do this. For me it is because nuts are convenient. If I am starving, they are there and ready to go or I can take them anywhere. If I have nut butter in the house somehow one tablespoon turns into half the jar!

I hope you are back to where you want to be in no time.

Bella I am glad that I am not the only one. I think some people fluctuate more than others. I fluctuate quite a bit while my sister seems to just stay about the same regardless of changes in her food. The good part about my situation is that I can fluctuate down almost as easy as up. My sis has a hard time going back down if she gains a pound or two. For me a pound or two is an extra glass of water! LOL I cannot deal with nuts. They get me all the time. One turns into 20 or 30 I do better with nut butter because I measure it out and put it away. I think what you are doing is just learning to maintain and how your body is going to behave.

And I thought I was the only one!

If y'all figure it out, please let me know!

I got down to 147 16 months ago and pretty much stopped losing so I decided to maintain.

I have gotten as low as 143 a couple of times and I then have bounced back up to 149 a couple of times too. I seem to settle at 145-147. I'm really starting to doubt I will ever get lower than 145 and stay there.

My body seems pretty happy where it is and I guess that's okay too. But has been so frustrating not to be able to reach my goal of 140, no matter what I do.

I have "issues" with nuts also. I still eat them but I try to put them in something, salad, yogurt or cottage cheese so that I am not going wild with them for snacks.

I have switched to sunflower seeds in the shell. The salt doesn't seem to effect me too badly and they are pretty satisfying.

This week I actually didn't open a new jar of AB for 5 days! I have a rule: it takes me 12
days to eat a jar and if it looks like I am eating too fast, I slow down. This makes me stretch it and I don't just stand there with the jar and spoon! I measure it out too...

The past few days I have had a slight stomach virus so Im eating less which means my pants are looser. I do however feel that if I just ate "whatever" even if ON PLAN that I would regain at least 20 lbs. And Im not gunna!
