What's Typical Food Day For Maintainers?
Just curious now that you are up the ladder and all what you do you eat in a typical day? When I got to goal I switched from Atkins to S Beach and never did the ladder. Just curious....

Typical
B: 1 cup of coffee with H&H. L: if I have it...4-8 oz protein (eggs, all meats, seafood and fish) and a limitless salad (various lettuces, greens and cabbages, tomatoes, red onion, pickles and olives, red and green bell peppers) w/a dollop of homemade dressing (usually sour cream, a bit-OK alot!- of hot sauce, and homemade taco seasoning. D: 4 to 12 oz protein ( 12 if I didn't eat lunch) Another salad similar to above and a warm vegetable like cauliflower, carrots, green beans, bok choy. Sometimes I will make a stirfry of protein and vegetables or a "stewy" dish. S: I rarely snack nowadays because it leads me up to no good (nuts and cheese-triggers), but if I do it is usually sunflower seeds in the shell. A glass of wine every now and again. While I prefer to eat whole food, I do try to keep a "nothing is truly off limits to me" attitude. That said, I choose NOT to eat or atleast try to keep at a minimum: sugar, artificial sweeteners, grains and breads, legumes (peanuts included), potatoes, fruit, and most dairy products (exp H&H and SC). I do best with KISS.

B whole wheat eng. muf with a little butter and blueberry preserves and a bananna
L cottage cheese and cantaloupe or Greek yogurt and fruit or tuna or grilled chick and salad D some kind of lean protein: chick, fish, turkey, sauteed veg. in garlic and olive oil snacks: almonds, south beach cereal bar, fruit(very limited almonds)(any kind of fruit doesn't hurt me) weekends: wine (plenty)... very small portion of pasta on Sun. I've been eating this way since last June and have been able to maintain and it's very liveable. I do weigh myself often, just to be sure! Deb |

This is a great post! I'm curious about this as well. I know I should be climbing the ladder, but it seems like everytime I do, I gain it back...very quickly.

I have been writing down what I eat on my journey down the weight. I will always eat this way. Except I will use the 80-20 rule. For me that means that at goal I must still eat 80% of the time as I am now on a weight loss program. 20% of the time I can goof off eating within reason like I use to. It is a balance you must maintain to maintain. Best of luck. I love veggies,eggs,fruit-No sugar even artificial types in sugarfree stuff. Jim |
