Holiday cravings!
Hi..Looking for some help in trying to avoid my cravings this time of year. I'm generally pretty good when it comes to avoiding sweets but when there is a dessert table FULL of goodies in front of me..I can't control myself. And of course after I have one, I need another. Any advice or tips to avoid this problem??? I make the same mistake every year!

I just stay clear away from the sweets. I know one bite would be my undoing. So to not be tempted I eat something else if I feel the need to munch. I will go get some raw veggies, cheese or something else that takes some time to chew. Also why not take some gum that you really like and pop that in your mouth everytime you are craving something sweet. Just my tricks that I use. Hope this helps. Good luck.

I hear you! I'm very worried about these 2 days! I survived Thanksgiving and several parties, but I'm very worried about Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Christmas Eve shouldn't be too bad. I'm planning on having shrimp scampi, lobster tail and salad. I'll skip dessert. Christmas Day could be a problem. I'm making lasagne and braccole. I'll try to eat a small piece of lasagne and the braccole shouldn't be too bad. Braccole is rolled flank steak with sausage stuffing. I'll eat plenty of salad and again skip dessert. On Friday I will eat very, very clean! I hope this works.

I know! It is so difficult when there's a huge table of all of my favorites..My aunt makes all the desserts that remind me of being a child
I was good on Christmas day but I am really worried about New Years! |

Envision how you will feel after eating the sweets...guilty, bloat, cravings, etc. I also unravel with one bite. I choose coffee/tea as the best LC dessert...add extra cream and LC sweetener if you must..it is still better than eating the loaded sweets.

Tip!
Last year around Christmas time I was watching a reality tv show and they gave a tip about curbing your cravings for the holidays that actually has helped me a little..You pick one day where you indulge your biggest craving and you can eat a nice portion of it on this one day. For the rest of the holidays, you have to stick to ur healthy eating..That way if your favorite cheat food is a carb, ur only having that ONE kind of carb..

Well, I've tried that plan and it works for me occasionally. Although fitness shows can be helpful, if you're a sucker for that stuff... Has anyone seen the commercials for diettribe? The first episode is on tonight and they're using the same therapist from fit club!!!

I actually watched the show last nite..It was pretty good..If you're going thru the same situation then you kinda get attached to the girls..and you want them to do well..I'm in the same boat they are..so i was so happy for them!
