Ever have one of those I look terrible days?

You all probably know what I'm talking about...even after losing all the weight,
some days are self critical. I am getting ready to go to the Giants Baseball
game and am having a "fat" day- I think no matter what I put on I look fat around the middle! My pants still fit and even though it's true I have a little
"roll" you would think it was the end of the world! I often times compare myself to when I was 25 and weighed more and no roll in sight. I am 53
now and haven't gained but a few pounds from my lowest low last year.

Just needed to vent a little I think. Maybe tomorrow will be better?

Oh Bella - I can relate! I think no matter how much weight I lose I'm always going to have a tummy. I was reading an article about women and weight lifting the other day and they called it a "menopot" - the belly that we ladies 'of a certain age' tend to have. It's frustrating because I'm happy with every other part of me (well, I wouldn't mind having my boobs put back where they were when I was in my 20's).

Yes, I have days like that. But I just try to remember that I have a lot fewer of them now than I did before I lost weight. I used to fuss about my hair and makeup a lot, and now I tend to go more natural. I realized the other day that I was trying to compensate for my extra weight by wearing lots of makeup and buying lots of clothes. I don't worry so much about what I wear or how much makeup I have on now because I know I look healthier, and even if I don't look like a 22 year-old, I look pretty darned good for 48!

You look great! Hang in there and don't be so hard on yourself!

I have those days too. The days when I feel fat aren't even necessarily the days when my weight is up a bit. It's just a mental thing - but much harder to get rid of than the weight was!

I have those days too. I am actually having a phase now. I am usually under 119 and have been bouncing between 121 and 123 and it is really starting to get me down mentally. I am trying not to focus on the # but we all know it does matter. So I am having a fat few weeks. You are not alone.

Thank you all so much! Last night for the first time I actually put on one of those
Spanx tummy shapers and wore it under my jeans and top! At first it felt pretty odd,
but then after awhile I got used to it. It is one that has legs almost down to your knees
and all the way up just below your bra. It definitely held everything in!
I have read that on The Biggest Loser and Oprah that celebs wear these to slim down
and hide their middles!

I'm going to have to get one of those! Where can you buy them?

One thing I do is try to remind myself that not very many people really look good out of their clothes, you know? Whenever I'm on the beach I see that I'm not the only one with a less than perfect body. The only people who really look good in bathing suits are about 17 years old

...and even then, they usually think of themselves as too fat/skinny/imperfect! A positive body image is a rare thing to have at any age.

We all have bad days, I just make sure I wear clothes that do not focus on a body part that I am unhappy with. Tight clothes when I feel fat make me in a bad mood all day.

I have "fat" days often. When I feel really down on my looks, I get all dolled up even if I don't have an occasion or event to go to. It is silly, but it makes me thankful and appreciative that this WOE/WOL has given me a healthy and better looking body, despite past abuses.

I have been having these lately. I do not know what is up but every time I try on clothes in a fitting room I about fall over. I always wonder how I can be this dissatisfied after losing 50 pounds.

You should have asked the Naked Cowboy if he's had "Fat Days".
