I'm back!

I haven't posted in here is quite a while but it's good to be back. I found out I was pregnant and threw lc out the window by adding in a lot of fruit and WW bread. Of course there was some sugar in there but I'm only human.

Well....

Guess what my doctor told me to do at my 8 week appointment...continue Atkins maintenance! I was floored. I have been feeling so bloated and uncomfortable with indigestion that I brought it up and we discussed what I have been eating. Then SHE said that I should cut bread and cut sugar. I said that I did low carb before and then SHE said the A word...Atkins! We talked about how I have been on Atkins but when I found out I was preggo I added in whole grain bread and pasta and lots of fruit. She said go back to Maintenance and cut the bread completely. I gained 75lbs with baby number one and narrowly avoided diabetes. Thank goodness for educated health care professionals.

It feels like I fell of the wagon and I'm trying to get back on but today was a good eating day. My stats aren't going to look like a maintainers but I will still try to eat like one!

Welcome back and congrats on the good news. Your doctor is a pearl telling you to go back to Atkins. Sometimes I forget the benefit of less gas and almost no indigestion.

Congratulations on the bun in the oven and the one you don't have to eat (LOL)! I am so impressed by your doctors wisdom! I gained 50 pounds with baby no. 1 and only 36 with baby no.2. After baby no. 2 when I came home I only had 7 pounds to lose, it was great!

Welcome Back Texoma!!! Congrats!!!

You are so fortunate to have a progressive and intelligent DR.

I wish that I had someone like that around when I had gained 60 plus pounds during each of my 3 pregnancies!!!

Keep up the good work!
