Almond Breeze?
Do any of you use Almond Breeze? I just got some unsweetened
chocolate and it was pretty bland but I added some stevia and it was pretty good. I can't recall now why I ordered it though...! Bella |

I haven't used it and probably won't...it is not the sort of thing I would drink. I have enough trouble drinking water, so water is first then coffee and tea. I actually bought it for DH because he is lactose intolerant and lactose-free milk is so expensive. I also want him to learn to "live without" milk.

I do use it but not straight, you're right about it being bland. I use it mainly in my shakes. It has less carbs than the light vanilla soy milk I was using.

Here it is, Alcmene:
Blue Diamond Almond Breeze Unsweetened I've used this with cream to make instant chocolate pudding...I liked it better than with cream and water..That's all I've tried, so far. |

That looks interesting! I have not seen it in the UK. I assume it would come in at the nut rung? |

Chocolate Almond Breeze
My favorite way to use the chocolate is to sweeten it a bit with Sweetzfree and then heat it for hot chocolate. YUM! I've heard from several sources that the vanilla is great on cereal.

I had the s/f vanilla and it was bland. I originally bought it to put in my coffee, but I didn't care for it in coffee. I ended up using it in protein shakes...not sure I will purchase it again as it costs just under $3 and water in my protein shakes is cheaper.

I love the Almond Breeze! I use it in my protein shakes. . .I just don't like mine made with water, and I can't stomach them when I have tried making them with heavy cream. Here's my basic:
1/2 cup Almond Breeze 1/4 cup egg beaters 1/4 cup half & half 1-1 1/2 Tbls DaVinci's syrup 1 tsp cocoa powder-optional, of course 1-1 1/2 scoops vanilla protein powder 2 ice cubes I sometimes add 2 Tbls of softened cream cheese which makes it DEEEElicious, but I'm trying to cut back on the cream cheese right now. Depending on your plan, you can get very creative, of course. . .adding pumpkin, frozen fruits, berries, veggies, cinnamon, extracts, etc. HTH. Andrea =) |

Our health food store has been having it at sale price all winter- $1.69 a box. I use both. The unsweetened chocolate has 2 net carbs per 1 cup, and sometimes I have it as 2 cups for breakfast with 2 more carb choices to total my allotted 6. I have the vanilla on the HiLo cereal- Maple Pecan- so no need to sweeten. The chocolate one I sweeten with 1 saccharin per 1 cup. I did take some acetominaphen the other night with the vanilla- it still has a very slight nut taste to me, but I am ALL about the taste of things!

Love the unsweetened vanilla, but not by itself. I have never been a milk person, so I wouldn't use it as a milk substitute. I use it in my protein shakes. The latest concoction is Vanilla Spice Living Harvest Hemp Protein, 1 cup almond milk, and frozen berries.
