6 months!!
I just had to share. I met my weight loss goal of 130 in July and have been happily maintaining ever since! This is a big deal for me because I was terrified of maintenance. So, what I did was lose an extra 5 and kinda "test the waters" to see what works and what doesn't. This is what works for me:
Weighing every single morn. I know, they tell you you're not suppose to but I do and that's that ![]() I am able to eat oatmeal steel-cut about 2-3 times a week with butter and 1 pkt. splenda Water is VERY important to me, even affects my mood if I'm low on my intake Beans have been added back in with no problems. Love red beans and sausage, chili with beans, Indian Dal Makhani...... A big delicious salad is still my first choice for lunch. protein is still a big part of my diet. Meat and Eggs can't be beat!! Fruit is my snack of choice. If I'm going out with friends for dinner, I'll eat a handful of almonds right before so I'm not starving when I get to the resturant. And one more, NO JUNK FOOD, EVER!!! Current weight 124, size 4 ![]() Have a super New Year everyone!!!

This is very inspiring! I'm only about a month or two into maintenance and still nervous (still trying to peel a pound or two more off, too). Nice to hear about the oatmeal and beans. I'm not tempted at all to start eating off-plan foods (and also am weighing every day!), so I think I should be fine, but it's good to hear it's working so well for you.

![]() ![]() Great Job!! Oh, how I miss oatmeal! That's really one of my most favorite comfort foods. I have a question, did you exercise while you were dieting and do you currently exercise to help maintain your weight? I just added running back into my routine this past Monday and have already seen a difference on the scale. I am an everyday scale girl too. It helps keep me on track for the day... Congratulations! You are a perfect example of what this diet is all about!!! ![]() Jenni |

Thanks to you all!! I really wouldn't survive without these boards! To answer your question Jenni, yes I do excersise daily. Sometimes alot, sometimes not so much. But I agree that it does make a difference on the scale and in my jeans.
I am in Dubai this weekend as a gift to myself. Staying in a fabulous hotel, spent the day yesterday in a spa and today went to the huge Mall of the Emirates and walked around the whole place. It really is a giant mall and it took me 6 hours to see it all. But it's nice to go away alone and recharge my batteries. I'm going home tomorrow and back to life . My kids are not to happy about thier abandonment so I have tp downplay my time here when I see them and tell them that I sure missed them Anyway, thanks for all the support and kind words! Have a great week everyone! |

I lived in Kuwait from 1965 to 1968, both my daughters were born there and my younger daughter and her husband lived there for bout 6 years until a couple of years ago.
Dubai is a very different place to Kuwait! |
