I'm getting bored with my food...
I have been happy to continue eating my usual favorites into maintenance but those favorites just aren't cutting it anymore. I don't know what to eat.
My treats would make this WOE satisfying and I looked forward to them. I would have a Diet Dr Pepper with lunch. After dinner I would eat a bowl of Greek yogurt with blueberries. Now those foods aren't making me happy. What are some other alternative goodies that I can eat? I'm a ritualistic person so I eat a lot of the same things every day especially if I look forward to them. Perhaps it's the lure of all the holiday treats but whatever it is I need some new lc alternatives. Help!

I do use a lot of her recipes. I made the chocolate truffle pie for Thanksgiving and I finished it off within days.
![]() Perhaps I should try making the desserts. I usually avoid them except holidays because of my lack of self control. |

Texoma, why don't your check out the menu thread, here and on some of the other boards. I usually eat the same foods also. I read somewhere that eating the same foods are good for maintainece. But I sure do understand boring. It takes time to cook or bake some of the goodies and quick fixes would be easier. Nuts are always easy and taste good. Or some string cheese. Are you looking for snack foods mainly? I'm sure some of the others will have some good ideas.

I'm not sure how to help - if you look at my menus... the are all pretty much alike. The thing that I do though is I love to cook and try to make a couple different things on the weekends to mix it up, that way my weekly menu isn't so tedious.
I'm not sure what to replace the nightly yogurt with... maybe a homemade flax muffin or coconut muffin w/ a cup of tea? The other thing I try to ask myself more lately before that evening snack - am I really hungry or is this just a habit... More times than not, I am just satisfied with a cup of tea. Another quick easy recipe - is the peanutbutter fudge recipe that SugarfreeSheila posted a couple weeks ago... I find a little piece is great and satisies that little snack or taste for something. If you're looking for an emergency last-minute PB fudge recipe!

I know where you're coming from, I'm a creature of habit as well. What I do is make bi-weekly menus for myself and then change them and rotate. There are so many resources on this site and on other forums/websites that you could use. Definitely look at the menu thread like Loretta suggested.

Laurie that Peanut butter fudge recipe is copied and saved. Thanks
But that PB is my downfall. I could probably eat the entire batch. Good for a treat though. |

Loretta - I thought that too - but I've been good about just 1 or 2 pieces a day - not sure why...
But if I were under a lot of stress... watch out... I may just polish off the whole batch... Hint: the last batch I chopped a couple squares of Lindt 85% chocolate and mixed that in.... I also don't make it too sweet - and it's the only way I've been eating peanut butter lately - and it's working!!! |

I have all the stuff for pb fudge except the whey protein. I have never bought it before but I saw in the fudge thread a picture so at least I know what it looks like.
I think I just need a complete menu overhaul. I make the same Linda Sue recipes all the time and my DH has been none to thrilled and now I find myself not even wanting to touch the leftovers. I just need the motivation to try new things. |

Although I love to cook and experiment, I, sadly find "safety" in eating the same foods over and over. Although I eat the same foods, I cook them using different seasoning/spice combos and marinades. Tastes like a completely different meal to me.
Sorry, I am no help w/ suggestions for snacks or treats. I don't make treats and snacks because I end up eating them in meal size portions or worse, eat the whole batch. My snack is sunflower seeds that I have to hull...these are a life saver for me...they slow me down that I bearly eat a serving so the "damage" is very minimal.

I wanted to give everyone an update. I posted this over 2 weeks ago and got a lot of really great suggestions but I really never found what I was looking for. Every night I used to love eating Greek yogurt w/bb's as a late night snack even if I wasn't hungry. I never found anything to replace that.
It seems that I am starting to overeat during the day and especially at dinner. Also, I frequently entertain the idea that just a little bit won't hurt me. I'm also taking up a drinking habit and helping polish off a bottle of wine here and there w/ my DH. I know from past experience that one bite will hurt me and eating real sugar or flour would be a major setback. Haven’t weight since I saw 137 on the scale just before Christmas. I'm just a bit scared to step on it again especially since I feel that my eating has been in excess. Anyway, I just wanted to put this out there. Perhaps I can us the motivation of the New Years to turn this around. |

I'll be with you from the 3rd when the last of the visitors leave!
It has been interesting this year, I have probably eaten off plan more than in previous years but, even though the scales show I am up I really don't feel afraid. I am so confident that I will lose anything I have gained just by eating clean again. I doubt I will even need to go back to induction. This is maintainance I believe. |

Hi
I'm still in the weightloss phase but I too got a little bored...One thing I really love as an after dinner sweet treat is canned pumpkin with some pumpkin pie spice or cinnamon stirred in, heated with a pat of butter .. Its simmilar in texture to the yogurt, plus pumpkin is full of vitamins... If you have a sweet tooth you can put some splenda in it but personally, i'm cutting out my excess sweetener.Plus, it's just as easy as yogurt and blueberries |

Today has been great. Eating was totally clean and tomorrow is a new day. I think I may be one of those newbies at the gym since I haven’t been since 11/6. I should know because they emailed me! ![]() LCSleepyToast-that pumpkin treat sounds good. I feed my ds that a lot because it is one of the few veggies he will eat. |

Texoma - I know my idea may be a little late -but I hope it helps!
I also like to eat a lot of the same things everyday, but do get bored once in a while. A nice treat/dessert you can have after your dinner - instead of the yogurt and blueberries - maybe could be low carb vanilla ice cream with blueberries or strawberries on top. I have 1 scoop of the Low Carb/Sugar Free ice cream with strawberries on top every night and just love it! I'm able to just have a small amount every night and stop there - because there's no sugar in it - I'm not addicted to ice cream like I used to be when I ate regular cookie dough ice cream. If you don't like ice cream, how about - making a nice smoothie - using yogurt, fruit and either soy milk or low carb milk and ice in the blender? Another idea is making Low Carb Cheesecake and having 1 small piece of that topped with berries? Or you can make the Low Carb Cheesecake Muffins - or a fast easy microwave LC cheesecake dessert? Someone here mentioned making something out of pumpkin. I've done that too - you can take the pumpkin, mix it with cinnamon, nutmeg, splenda and put it in the microwave for like 30 seconds and it's like crustless pumpkin pie. Another thing I liked to do with that is I added cream cheese to it and put it in the microwave for like 1 minute and it made a nice pumpkin cheesecake dessert! I hope you find a nice treat/dessert that you like to replace the yogurt and blueberries! ![]()
