Hi all!

My name is Christina and I am new to this website but not to LC. I have lost over 103 lbs doing low carb since October 2007. I am now on Maintenance and have been for about a month now. I am 38 years old, been married for 10 years now, live in Va and I have been lurking here for about 6 months now. I am a regular on the Stella Style website and I know Kevin (HI Kevin!!) from there. I love low carb way of living. We have a 3 year old son, Brandon, after trying for 9 years and I thank the low carb way of eating for me to conceive him!

Hi to all of you!

Thanks for the welcome. I live in Southwest Va about 1 hour from the TN border.
My LC journey actually started about 4 years ago. I was always heavy my childhood and adult life. I lost allot (almost 70 lb) just walking right before I got married 11 years ago this upcoming April. After we got married my weight started to go up. I found out I was pregnant about a year into our marriage but that pregnancy was not to be. Then 5 years ago I found out I was Type 2 diabetic and had high blood pressure. I weight in at 200 lbs then and was determined to get off the weight. I had a friend that went on the Atkins diet and lost allot so I decided to try it. I started that along with walking and got down to 165 back around then could not lose anymore. Well then I found out I was pregnant with my son Brandon. I gain up to 208 when I had him almost 8 months later. I lost down to 189 but then when I started looking out for my son I started eating more junk. I got up to 225 last Sept. I was not feeling good and I knew if I didn't get the weight back off I was going to die of a heart attack or a stroke like my mother did. I decide last October to take it off for good and I already knew that LC was the way to go for me. Well, with excerise, and diet I lost down to 135 in a little less than 1 year. Then, about 3 months ago, I found out my Gallbladder had to come out. When they did my surgery, they nicked my bile duct. It took 2 weeks worth of hospital stays to finally have them correct it with a stint in my bile duct which now has to come out with a Upper GI. Not being able to eat anything that long I dropped down to my lowest weight 125. When I got to feeling better I decide to stay on Low carb and see if I could maintain my weight. So far, so good. I do run around allot with my son so I know that is what is helping me keep it off.

Wow, that was long.
