Maintenance Wine Lovers check in
As I was reading some of the menu's I noticed there were many of us wine-o's ,,,,,I mean wine coinoisseurs out there: How many of you like wine? and do you find there to be any relevance to your weight.
I have been drinking some red wine for my entire weight loss journey. If it has had any effect, I feel that it actually tames my appetite a bit. |

I, too,
my wine (especially dry whites).I've drunk wine all through my weight loss and maintenance journey. It hasn't affected my weight. I usually drink anywhere from 1 to 2.5 glasses every evening. I will not give up wine, it is needed for my sanity. ![]() I also consider it my serving of fruit for the day, LOL! |

I like to think of it as a serving of fruit also. In fact I rarely eat fruit because of it. Pretty much all vegetables, and occasional berries.

I might drink a couple of glasses a week. I've never really been afraid of it as far as weight loss.

I envy you!
I gave up wine when I started lc in January. I think it is just too hard to manage it! I was drinking a couple glasses a night and sometimes a brandy to boot. Now I drink tea. Bella |

Ha ha! Wine is the second thing I introduce after induction. The first is a little skimmed milk in my morning coffee.
Yes I love wine and have some most evenings. Must go, DH has just poured me a lovely cold glass of Muscadet! |

I drink wine a couple of times a week. I've never been one to drink during the week because I often exercise in the evenings, but all the research seems to indicate it's a healthy thing to do.

Who does wine tours? We did in some Australia, Hunter Valley and an area of Queensland called Mount Tambourine.
Did a wonderful wine tasting train in the Napa Valley some years ago. |

My husband and I collect wine...I love it, but I have cut back to about qequivalent of 1-2 glasses the entire week. I now have enjoyable slow sips of wine rather than glasses. I have developed my wine palate by slowing down. I also take wine classes and do wine/food tours on vacation.
Liza- Napa is great, but you may also like nearby Sonoma---I find the vineyards here much less commercialized. Did someone say coffee? I LOVE coffee...I have also decreased my consumption about 4 oz/day, but with the cold months coming I feel the urge for nice large mug! Coffee is my dessert!

Wine and coffee are definite maintenance staples.
You know where you can find great red wine? TEXAS!!! Yes, I'm somewhat of a Texas wine snob. |

Interesting...What grapes are the wines made from? Do they grow the grape in Texas or just produce wine?

steady-I do know that all off the wineries have vineyards and use the grapes that they grow. Others varieties are brought in from Europe and Cali. To be honest as far as the types of grapes and such I don't pay attention. I enjoy tasting and drinking but as far as understanding the details...not so much.

Enjoying a nice glass of Cabernet... Normally I wouldn't on a Monday night, but I didn't finish the bottle we opened last night and you just can't waste good wine...
