Maintenance, the bottom line
Calories can either be medicine to our bodies, or poison.
It's up to us to choose... We can either be overweight, feel tired and have compromised health, or we can be thin, feel good, have energy and longetivity. "Are you willing to trade off one or more of your old "goodies" to reach the thin you've always desired? Are you willing to accept a few limitations in exchange for the freedom of good health?" -Stephen Gullo Without the foods I cannot moderate, I am moving forward to appreciate and enjoy life without the domination of food. I am making the commitment to be thin, happy and healthy! **Let's all take advantage of the choices we have!!!** ![]()

Sounds good to me. Love the quotes. Being back in full swing of things has already made me feel better. My day yesterday felt like a day of cleansing. Getting past this obsession can be done. I did it once and I will do it again. I'm so sorry you are struggling so much. If you have to; put those quotes everywhere you can get to food; on the fridge, in the pantry, in your car, in your purse, on your grocery list, until you get comfortable with what you are doing. Rebecca, you will get there. ![]() |

Just wanted to bump this thread and add the following...
Here are some thoughts, helpful to me, that I've taken from author Stephen Gullo: **Food should enhance life, not be the centerpiece of it. **Don't let food occupy a space in your life where a friend should be. **Thin is a lifestyle. **If you are well-nourished with the right foods, you won't have as many cravings for the wrong foods. **Self chosen avoidance is not deprivation; it is liberation. "Foods cannot posess you, seduce you, or deprive you of your free will. The only power they have is the power you give them. And whenever you turn that power over to food, you are depriving yourself of the right to be thin, the right to be healthy and fit, the right to own the clothes you want and to look the way you want to look. That is the real deprivation." ~Gullo ![]() |

I'm extrapolating here:
Stephen Gullo stated the following in his book Thin Tastes Better: "Thin is not a birthright. Neither is being able to have anything you want anytime you want. If you want to be thin, you must occasionally say no. And if you are going to say no you have to do it of your own free will. Such self-chosen avoidance isn't deprivation, it's liberation. And with each "No, thank you" you will gain a little more control, self-reliance, and self-esteem." ![]() |
