Hi, everyone!!
Back from my holiday, and after a couple of splurges and fluctuations I'm back to my pre-holiday weight of 135.5. I'm hoping to get down to 132 in the next weeks, to have a safety margin. I'm still struggling with maintenance, as some of the things I introduce give me cravings for days, and I'm still figuring out what is safe and what is not.
Best of luck to you all!!!
Florbela.

Hi everybody. 118.0 today, coming down after being up around 119 for TOM (range 116-119).

I'm getting my greyhound tomorrow!! So excited but very nervous. I'll be doing a lot more walking with her, but I'll need to focus on socializing her for a couple of weeks, so I know it will cut into my time to get to the gym. I figure if I can squeeze in even a half hour weight workout a couple of times a week, that will keep me all right until things settle down.

Welcome back those returning from vacation and bon voyage to those leaving on vacation.

Alison, don't be too hard on yourself. You are in your zone for sure. Those ups and downs keep us on our toes.

Will be moving this weekend. The avitar is my new duplex, freshly built and has a way to go for yard work. They are still putting the finishing touches on today and tomorrow is the move in day.

Hope I can get back Sunday with my weight. Will have to go to DS's house a few blocks from new place and use his pc.

first time on Frida Weekly Maintenance Weigh-In

Hi!

My name is Lisa.
I started the Lindora Lean for Life (LFL) program on 6/19/07, to date I've lost 100lbs but my body's fighting losing the last 15lbs. Time for a break.

BACKGROUND: I am 5'5" tall, medium frame (or large depending on who you ask). I am a wildlife biologist so I am occassionally outside for days on end (like next week I will be working in Yuma, Arizona doing construction monitoring from sun-up to early afternoon). No 'human children'... three black cats (slinky, xena, spooky), one dog (chaos) and a retired/disabled husband .

After completing MA (metabolic adjustment to readjust my set point) I will be on maintenance for 6mo to a year before I start another weightloss program (maybe)to lose the last 15.

So, as of today I'm 163.2. My numbers have been staying between the (lowest)158 and 163.8 lbs.

Have a good weekend,

Starting MA and going into Lifetime Maintance for awhile...
as of August 29, 2008 (my scale):163.2 [I've been staying between 158-163.8].
GOAL: ultimately I'd like to be between 145-150 lbs

Lisa, a BIG congratulations on losing over 100 pounds. You have done a tremedous job with your LFL weight loss program.

WTG.

Are you able to leave your disabled DH while you are off on your trips or does he venture along with you. What an interesting job wildlife biologist.

mac at least you can name your cause for the extra weight. Maybe you should forget weighing in at that time of month altogether.

Hi Everyone!!! Mexico was awesome!!!! and OMG! I only gained two pounds! lol!!! to put me a half a pound into my goal range (I had gone below goal - unintentionally - right before vacation). I am really thrilled! I only exercised "officially" once the entire week, but swam and goofed off with the kids every day and was very active ... LOL! I was even told I had a great figure once, lol!!!!!!

I enjoyed the amazing veggie dishes, gorgeous cheeses and fish and ate lots of fruit every day - which is something I do not do at home, and had 4-5 drinks a day too, lol! (mixed with my crystal light).

It was easy for me to stay away from the sweets, bread, potatoes, and tortillas, as I had prepared by bringing lc pitas and a sweet lc bar for desserts. It was hard mentally not to weigh and measure my food though! I think that having to get into my bathing suit daily and seeing my tummy pop out after a meal was the key to keeping me mindful, lol!!!!!!

Goal Range: 130-135

Jun Ave ... 132.00
Jul Ave ... 131.75
Aug Ave ... 129.25

Aug 22 ... 128.75 pre-vacation
Aug 29 ... 130.50 post-vacation

Linda Welcome!!!! Congratulations on the 100 pounds!!! Woot!!!!

Prairie I am sure you will do fine only exercsing with your new buddy!!!!! Very exciting!!!!

Mac, Fviegas, Alison, Ailuros Just keep up the good fight and you'll be where you want to be in no time!!! Don't forget that we are talking about very minute, small amounts of weight here and in the scheme of things is nothing. You are all doing great!!

Bella!! You are probably off already ... but have a great time Girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Loretta and Tecnokitty Best of luck with the moves Ladies!!! I hope all goes smoothly!

Stargazey!! Awesome getting your dh on the lc lifestyle!!! More fun to do it together!!

Wow, TaDa, well done on the vacation, sounds as if you enjoyed it and still did a wonderful job.

Prairie enjoy that lovely new friend.

Welcome Lisa, congrats on the 100lbs.

Loretta hope the new home is a happy, happy one.

No weigh in for me until I get back to my London home on Monday. Not expecting much good news although I bought some great new pants yesterday.

Hi everyone else!

Hi, everyone,
welcome back TaDa!! A big hug to all of you!
Linda, that is a good strategy, to maintain for a long time to
reset the dreaded "set point".
This was a good week, getting back to my exercise program and
started today the couch25k thing. I am now at 133.8 and nicely
maintaining. I've started to up my calories, get more variety
of foods, and shifted my focus from losing weight to getting fit.
I have also been adjusting the foods I cook for my kids, and
so they are low carbing as well. My oldest one is overweight and
I'm trying to see if a low carb diet will help him get a bit
leaner. He actually loves mashed cauliflower, roasted green beans
and almond flour muffins, so no problem there so far I even made
a lowcarb pizza the other day and they both loved it.

One thing that might encourage you Linda, is that although my weight
is the same before going on holiday, I've been feeling a big difference
this last 2 weeks on my skin tone in my legs and belly. It looks like
my loose skin is getting smaller,so I suppose that some internal
adjustement is taking place that does not reflect itself in the scale.
Maybe a tape measure will encourage you better.

Pity that the summer is over, and it's almost time to
hide under layers of clothes, now that I am in bikini form.
Well, there is always the spa to show off

bisous!!!

Hi Gals! The website was down this morning, so I imagine that's why there aren't a zillion posts for today, lol!!! Florbela and Linda .. I have noticed all my new pants are getting baggy and there is no weightloss, so the muscle building is probably the reason .. and well, that's ok with me .. but the clothes thing is annoying! lol!

Florbela, I have my youngest, age 7 doing a lower carb menu. She doesn't know that is what I am doing with her, lol! She just loves the foods.

My weigh in today is 130 down half a pound from my post-vacation weigh-in last week .. so my weight appears to still be going down (goal weight range: 130-135) and I made the decision to cut out one 60 minute cardio session, to bring my exercise days to 4 per week (40 min cardio and weights). It will certainly make my life a lot easier to have a week day free for chores.

I went from 6 days a week exercise, to 5 days a week about a year ago, and I think 4 days is adequate for maintenance and muscle building .. kinda cool!!!! So, I guess we'll see what the results are in the next few weeks!!

I hope everyone is having a good Friday!!!

I didn't weigh myself first thing this morning, because I slept later than I intended and was rushing. I weighed myself just before lunch, at 118.6. It's also coming up to TOM - as far as I can tell these days , so I hope I'll be able to go down a couple of pounds from that before too long.

I'm at 131 lbs...I try to float between 126-131 lbs...

I am giving myself a month break and moving to maintenance levels for fat loss and then will be going at it again...

Hopefully...my waist will be kind to me as I do maintenance levels for fat loss...

I'm really trying to focus on my waist size rather than a number on the scale as the waist size is more accurate...but I do weigh once a week to make sure I calculate my calorie needs for what I weigh...

So that's why I decided to still post in here...

Dyan

I would like to be around 27 inches...without starving myself, of course...and without looking gaunt or sick...

Last time I got to 27 inches...I wore a 0/1 and looked gaunt and sick and starved myself to get there...

This time, I'm taking the healthy route...

I'm around 30.5 inches right now...

I hope you can get there without having to starve yourself this time .

What waist/hip measurements is size 0/1? I'm a UK size 8/10 (or a 6 if they're particularly generous), but I don't really know how that compares with US sizes.

I was 131.0 today, but just got back from Barcelona, so I can't complain. Needless to say, it's back to induction until the excess poundage disappears.

Hi everyone! 117.8 this morning (range 116-119).

It's been an exciting but exhausting week with my new girlie Beth. She's being a champ, very sweet and amenable to new experiences, but it's a real adjustment for me, and busy busy both taking her for potty breaks and walks and supervising indoors to keep her settled and, for now, apart from my cat most times. The great news is that she seems contented when left in her crate, so I should be able to get back to the gym once in a while -- though my legs are aching from all the pavement-pounding as is. I was too distracted to weigh every day or journal my food, but my weight is just fine, so that's a relief! I always ate on plan despite the chaos.

Good afternoon. Sounds like everyone is doing great. I was 122 this AM. It is not bothering me as much as it was. I eat on plan and exercise regularly ( I did not today too hot). What more can I do. It is a very small amount of weight that is sticking. I am just more comfortable under 120. At 5'6" 122 is not heavy so I think this is a mental issue I am dealing with. I am just going to stick with what I know. Have a great weekend.

I weighed in at 131, down from 133. I'm trying to maintain but I keep losing. I don't seem to be able to find that happy medium. I either lose or gain, never just stay the same. What do I do?

Deb ... I am still losing as well, and my solution is either 1) take out some cardio exercise and/or 2) add some food. I am starting with trying to take out a single 60 min cardio session per week and see how that works out .. Will monitor that for at least a week or two before I also try another thing .. adding some food ...

hth!!

Congrats Bella. That is just great to lose weight on vacation. Good for you, but the food tasted great.

TaDa interesting to read about you decreasing your exercise. That is one thing that I stick to religiously, my walks and workouts. Of course I don't have the problem of losing too much weight right now. Walk 3+ miles 6 days, exercise workout 5 days.

Prairie, love the new avitar with Beth's picture. What a beautiful animal. Hope you both are adjusting to each other well.

Hi Dyan, nice to have you join us. I always forget about measurements and usually have my eye on the scale. I wish I had kept better track of my beginning measurements though.

Will BB tomorrow with my weight.

If I ever find my camera I will show you all some pics of my new place. The outside looks much the same for now.

Cathy have you been on another vacation? Thanks for the good thoughts on my new home. I finally found my DH's pictures for the refrigerator. Sure had to search them out even though I put them in a place I thought I would remember.

Tada,
I use to run, but now I fast walk. I do about 4 miles every other day. I'm adding a little extra food, but am so worried of gaining. I'll just watch the scale daily. It is a constant battle, isn't it!

Deb I used to jog but now I walk fast too. My stamina is better at a steady fast pace than jogging then I have to slow down because I get pooped. I do aboue 3+ miles 5 days and one day of 4.5 miles or so.

Woot!!! WTG Bella!!!!!! I'm glad you had a good time too!!!

Loretta, I am cutting down from the equivalent of 30 miles running a week (8.5-9 min mile at the longer distances) - I'm keeping the 3 hrs of weekly weight training.

Deb, Sounds like your exercise is perfect already!! Personally I wouldn't watch the scale daily - there is simply too much daily fluctuation .. I pick a "add-in" level and weigh weekly .. You have to learn to trust yourself ... P

Weight 121 this morning.

I am having a problem finding something to eat for breakfast lately. I bought a box of Cheerios and will try a half a bowl once or twice a week.
I used to eat Fiber One but got tired of the taste of it. It was too much fiber also.

TaDa you young gals can really go, go, go. I am an old lady (65 to 74, a young old) I am at 68. I agree with you about the scale watch. Once a week is plenty.

WTG Loretta on the weigh-in!! I eat cheerios every day for breakfast along with a protein bar .. I eat 1 cup cheerios dry - no milk. They are whole grain, and I think that amount is like 10 or 20 net carbs .. I like 'em .. really easy! Enjoy!!! P
