Weigh in today is 121.5, a relief after last weeks 123.5.

Have a good week folks, stay safe.

117.2 this morning, very good considering how stressed and sleepless I've been about my cat. (Oddly, too, I had TOM this past week and for the first time since I've checked my weight did not seem to go up at all! Weird -- perimenopause? I'm not going to complain, at any rate!)

Thanks for the kind words about my kitty, everyone. Though I've gotten bad news on his x-rays, he himself seems basically fine, alert, and happy -- and after researching the role of glucose in tumor growth I've switched him to an extremely low-carb (and grain-free), high protein cat food that he loves! The new vet I went to said I was very astute to make this decision. All of my animals from now on in my life are going to be LC like me.

Bumping this up for the Friday weigh in.

Prairie, how is the cat doing? I know you are suffering right along with her. Are you still dry?

Guess we were posting at the same time. Glad that your cat is doing better. LC is the way to go. Good on the weight.

Hi Loretta -- yes, things are drying out here; I live at the northern end of the Iowa flooding. And my house is not in a danger zone. But so many lives, homes, businesses, and cultural institutions have been devastated in the area; it's almost impossible to wrap one's mind around it. And of course crops, which is going to have a big impact on food prices.

Weighed in this morning at 136. I would like to get back to my low, but it doesn't look like I have the discipline right now to push it. I suppose it is a triumph maintaining for over a year and I should be happy

Hi, everybody! Do you mind if I join you in the weekly weigh-in?

I started doing Atkins 2002 at 201 pounds, and I reached my goal of 125 pounds in March 2007. I've been up and down a bit since then, but I seem to feel best at about 127 pounds. Today's weight was 128.8. Thanks for all the inspiration you maintainers provide!

Sticking at 132, which higher than I would like but as I am now trying IE everything is a learning curve.

Glad to know that your kitty is holding his own. I am a big cat lover and know how hard this time is for you.

Well done everyone and Stargazey

Hiya! I am also joining Friday weigh-in.. as that is the day I have set for my own Maintenance weigh-ins.

I have added in some foods this past week ... an extra half cup of cheerios in the morning, and a protein bar mid-morning and am hoping that my weight will stay steady! Once I can determine that, I'll add in maybe one higher calorie/higher carb meal a week ..

I am at 130.75 and have pretty much been there all week with a couple of days bumped up to 132 ... Still trying to figure out my normal fluctuations! lol!!! But quite happy at this weight and hoping to hold steady!!

(I have noted my goal range at 130-135.)

Congrats Bella on maintaining for a year. Just one at a time. You are doing great.

SO nice to see some new weigh-in-maintainers.

What a grand job both of you, Stargazy and TaDa, have done with your weight loss. I really admire you both immensely. I had to lose 20 pounds and that was it, but it seemed almost impossible for me at times.

Good job Kissa at staying there at your 132. That is a good thing.

BB Sunday with my weight.

Do you think it uncommon to reach a low weight but then move higher for maintaining?
I hit 131 for a minute But that was under stress from Xmas visitors! Usually I am
at 135-138.

It is quite common I think. I was 122 for about a day last year if you recall which I accomplished on a bootcamp of meat and eggs. Not wise. It was a little vanity moment caused by my 60th birhtday.

Now, a year on, I know I am much happier in the upper 120s and I am hoping to will see those numbers soon.

I still feel I am maintaining because I am comfortable, confident and in control.

Loretta, sometimes the smaller the weight loss the harder it is. What you did was wonderful and to have maintained through the difficulties of the past year is nothing short of remarkable.

Bella, you are amazing, you never wobble!

After I started low carb and reached my goal weight of 120, I kept dropping. I was down to 117 for a while. Not able to maintain that low of a weight and be happy.

Life is just more important than being unhappy by putting too many restrictions on my old body. Cindy I'll second your thoughts of: I am comfortable, confident and in control. That sums it up in a nutshell.

Loretta, I second Kissa ... it took me ages to lose my last 20 pounds. The bigger weight just came off more easily (well, most of the time) although, yeah, it did take forever! lol!

Bella .. me too. I reached 123 lbs in 2006, but I cannot tell you how many people - even ones who only knew me by sight - would walk up to me and tell me I had lost too much weight!!! I know my face gets bony when I go below this weight even though my body can stand to have less fat on it .. but hey, nothing in life is perfect! lol! I'd rather my face look ok and not gaunt, than be back in size 4s.

Now, just to make sure I do not start losing more weight .. I think that part is as tough as not gaining and I guess, only you guys would be able to relate to that!!!! lol!! My emergency plan if I start to go too far down .. to cut out a little bit of exercise til the wight normalizes and then try to balance everything again ...

Weight today 122.5. I'll take that.

Thanks for your understanding about my small amount of weight loss. I struggled with that 20 pounds at least 10x over and was never able to keep it off. This time with low carb it is sticking. Hang in there gals.

116.6 this morning. And my kitty is still doing well (though it hasn't gotten too much easier for me!).

Early next week we're heading east to my parents' house, and the increased eating challenges there (their eating is low-fat and very carby) -- but I've weathered them in a number of previous visits now, so I'm not too worried. My mother accepts that I will go to the store and stock up on a number of supplies for myself! (And I've turned them on to Greek yogurt too.)

This morning I was 127.1.

A few days ago I realized that the new Atkins shakes now contain soy protein and I must be allergic to it. When I quit using the shakes, I lost 3 pounds in 3 days! Not all of that shows up on today's weigh-in, but it was quite a surprise. Why would they mess with a good thing? At least homemade shakes are still an option!

136 today. I also find that when I avoid the Atkins bars that my weight drops. I like
them as a snack, they are easy, but.....

Hi Gals and congrats on stay on course.,

I am veering off a little on vacation at Gulf Shores with DS and his family. Lots of good food here especially the sea food and No scale any where around. Won't be back home for almost a week. Will weigh in when I get back, but it won't be pretty. Have been eating way off plan enjoying food that I usually eat, like french fries and bread.

I will weigh in the damages next Sunday.

Having a great time at the beach and pool and enjoying being wth the grandkids.

Bella, I love the new avatar!

Happy Independence day everyone over there in the US of A. Have a great holiday weekend.

It is indeed a happy day for me as I can report a true 1lb loss today. It is so encouraging for me to see IE working. I cannot get over it really.

So 131 it is.

Forgot yesterday was Friday with the holiday! 117.6 today . . . I actually brought my scale with me to my parents' house, as theirs is a non-digital kind with the markings so close together it's virtually impossible to track differences of a pound or two, and I thought the uncertainity would drive me crazy over several weeks.

Tuesday I'm leaving for a week's tour in Nova Scotia (carrying my whey and PB packets). Fortunately outside of breakfast only a couple of meals are provided, so I should be pretty free to hunt down food that's acceptable to me.

Hi Prairie, where in Nova Scotia are you going? My FIL grew up on Prince Edward Island and revisited there on a cruise ship 2 years ago. He is 93 this month!
