Thank you so much for your words of comfort. I felt so blest to be able to care for Dh up until the end. I thank God for our short 12 years together.
Weight 121.5 this am. I have been eating off plan for several days. Will get back to business NOW. Congrats gals on maintaining. |

Aargh, 118.6 -- pretty sure it's just TOM weight hanging on; it seems to take a full week to come off. After 4-5 days (like now) I always start to worry.
Loretta, I think you've done *amazingly* in terms of maintaining your weight during this difficult time. Stress alone can cause gain, let alone changes in one's eating pattern. |

Good morning!
I have been working on settling my weight back down I could sense it was edging up a bit, maybe just a pound or 2, but that was enough for me. So this morning I weighed in at 136, which is up a bit but Im working on it.How is everyone else doing? Bella |

Hi everyone -- I'm at 118.0, it's been up a bit this week (my parents are visiting, lots of restaurant meals though always on plan!). I've been working out every day, though, plus lots of yard work. I'm trusting it will come down after they leave!

Good job Bella and Prairie. Don't think a pound or two will cause a lot of problems except for the worry. I feel that way a lot. Will check in tomorrow am with my weight.

Well thank you so much Loretta, how kind. I was very happy that day, it was a reunion with friends from 20 odd years ago.
I check this thread regularly but cannot really claim to be on maintainance with my weight as it is. I am trying IE at present, seems to be going well. You are all doing great, well done. |

Weigh in today 120 lbs. I have changed some of eating pattern from fruit for lunch to protein, shaved smoked turkey on a piece of 2% less fat cheese. Maybe that has kicked in for me.
Cindy what is Paul Mckenna all about?? |

He is a hypnotist but his simple rules are basically the same as Intuitive eating.
Only eat when you are hungry. Eat what you want not what you think you should. Savour each mouthful and take your time. Stop eating as soon as you think you are full. Forgive yourself if you slip up. Love the person you are. Visualise the person you plan to become. That pretty much sums it up. |

Good for you, Bella!
I'm 118.6 today, on the high side for me but I'm pleased, as it was 120.8 two days ago when I got back from a week visiting a friend and not exercising. That was pretty upsetting, as I did not go off plan a single time. Evidently the exercise is critical to maintaining, and/or I need to cut calories if I'm not doing it. Scary to see how thin the margin of control is. |

Thanks Cindy, Paul Mckenna has some real words of wisdom there.
Just checking in to see how you gals are doing today. Congrats Bella on that 135. Prairie, exercise sure is important. When my Dh was sick and I was caring for him, I worried about not getting my usual walk/jogs in, and took to the stationary bike. Between that and caring for him, my weight did not get too far out of hand. Exercise just has to be a part of this lifestyle. Congrats on getting that vacation weight off. |

That's OK Bella. Sometimes we get frustrated with maintaining the same number, but when that number goes up we get charged into new action.
Just loved seeing all of the new avitars her today. Bella were you on a mountain climb? Kissa is that a grand son/daughter? And Prairie, where were you, out to eat evidently? So guys I am showing you my Leah, grandaughter at her dance recital. BBSunday with my weight. Last edited by Loretta V; 06-06-2008 at 10:44 AM.. |

Yes I love the new avatars too. The little girl is my 40 year old daughter when she was just a year old. Just too cute. (MintQ8 on these boards)
2 lbs is nothing to worry about but you are wise to deal with it straight away, as I well know. I am doing IE as you know and trying not to weigh, which is really hard. I go back to my London home today and the scales there are my 'true' scales so I will allow myself a little peek there. |

116.4 today!
I've really worked to take off the weight I gained on my visit to California! I'm pleased I could do it even though I've been under a good bit of stress (worrying about my cat, my car, and tornado sirens the other night -- did you hear about the devastating tornado in Parkersburg, Iowa about two weeks ago? That is basically right by where I live). My pic is from a visit to Palm Springs during that recent trip -- a fun day. |

Very good job Prairie. Congratulations. Wish I could tell you not to worry and be so stressed. How about trying to live just in the now. Seems to work for me at times, but it is a different way of thinking. That tornado would have really scared me.
Not good for me this week. 123.5. Now where did that come from? I think it is this hot weather ( I want to blame it). I have been eating things I know I should NOT, well, a donut, some chips, a sandwich with 2 slices of regular bread. Had to attend a meeting yesterday that took all day and they served breakfast and lunch there. Cindy, what is MintQ8?? Maybe I am dense. Have a good week gals.

Are any of you ever nervous before our Friday weigh ins? Even though I stay on plan,
in the back of my mind I worry if I will derail myself with too many nuts ! This week I was 136. Bella |

116.4 again this morning (I've been below and above that during the week). Bella, I can't break the daily weighing habit so I don't especially fear Fridays -- but I've been known to delay posting until Saturday when I'm not pleased with the Friday number, like this week!
Things are really difficult here . . . while my house is fine and immediate community mostly OK, the flooding in Iowa is beyond horrifying. Cedar Rapids is like a mini-New Orleans -- 1000 city blocks under water. And my beloved cat was diagnosed with cancer last week. I can definitely feel the appeal of turning to some comfort food, but I know that would be a bad option, and I'd feel even worse if my weight went up. |

Congrats girls, fine job the both of you.
Bella, I'm not sure nervous is the word I would use for that pre weigh in feeling. I always hope I do not get disappointed. When I used to weigh the same almost every week, I became accustomed and comfortable there. As soon as that number jumped up I got back to business and started to cut back. Just the way of it. Prairie, sorry to hear about cancer for your cat. Hope she can be kept pain free and comfortable. Thank goodness you are not in flooded land. Those people are sure having a heart rending time. I always worry about the aged and sick in cases like that. BBtomorrow with my numbers. |
