Hi Girls! I had a terrible week the first week of November with binge eating - not overeating by choice, but binge eating disorder-type eating. I, somehow got it under control and have been eating "maintenance clean" for four days. When I did weigh this past Monday, I was shocked to find I had only gained 2 pounds to 130. It felt like 5 or 10. I find it very strange that I did not put on a lot of water weight.
I think the relief over the weight gain helped me to move on and back to "normal" and I seem to be in a good place right now mentally. My weigh-in this morning was 128.5 and I do think it is time I adjusted my goal weight to read: 128-133. One very positive result of this episode is that I reaize that I feel best at 128 pounds, and that two extra pounds make me feel lethargic and fat. I guess I can now understand how the "normal" people maintain a weight. Loretta I love the picture!!!! How great that you can splurge like you did and enjoy everything, and in the end the weight "gain" is really just water when you get back to normal. It's great! That is a "maintenance" I can live with!! Congrats! fviegas I definitely find that running makes a difference, but when I had to stop running (about a year and a half of no running), I found that using cardio machines at high intensity and changing from one to another helped keep me in the same place weight-wise (not running fit, but hey, only running will do that, lol!). Anyhow, just something to think about! Fischdeb1 LOL! on the one day of strict eating not killing you. I simply can't get myself to do that at all without flipping out totally, but I guess that's ok if I do manage somehow with my (very) slightly less food to get to the right place. Cool that you can do that .. I'm jealous!!! Dianne I feel the same way about the scale and the reward of weightloss. Sometimes it is very hard to feel incentive for doing what I am doing, but realizing that I look good in clothes, or like yesterday, that only a thin fit person could rake and drag leaves for 3 hours (with my neighbor man gawping at me because he can't get his own lazy butt to do his and there I am like a whirlwind) - things like that hit me and I realize that is my incentive. It is totaly weird! lol! Congrats on the 123!! I am totally excited for you reaching the low 120s ... so very cool my Twin!!! ![]() Bella Keep at it. You're doing fine!!! WTG all the rest of you Maintainers!! Here's to a great weekend!!! Pauline |

Rebecca I m sorry to hear you had binge issues too
It sucks doesn't it?! Congrats on getting back to 108! Did you restrict at all to get back there or was it like me - kinda just eating close to normal, just a little less? I am trying to understand how it works for others too.Mac Congrats on getting back to your good weight too!! Yay!!!!! |

I'm at 117.0, right on track, despite what feels like a tendency to a bit of creeping LC snacking that I've got to watch.

Even in maintenance, I have to be careful about my choices. Healthy fat calories are always fine for me. Occasional breads, pasta, potatoes or whole grains are fine, as well. Sugar is very BAD for me and fuels my bingeing... ![]() KUTGW, Gang! ![]() HAPPY FRIDAY!!! ![]() |

Well, I have no clue what I weigh but DH said I was looking smaller this morning. Hmmmmm....
I had to go buy a new pair of workout pants because the ones I did have were getting too big. I tried on my size 4 clothing today-mainly my jeans-and they are still fitting a little loose-which I am okay with. If those start getting tight, then I know it's time to back off a little. But I know-as long as I'm making good choices-no need to worry about that. I think I'll get on the scale on Thanksgiving when we are DS2 and DD's just to see where I am. But it's nice not having to go by a number on the scale right now. Dyan |

Good morning,
Well I was disappointed this morning as my weight didn't budge, was 143. But I suppose it isnt a catastrophe I will obviously need to do something different if I want to lose a few pounds.Have a great day, everyone is doing great! Bella |

Hi, everyone, good morning!! stable TOM 136, hope to go down a bit
in the next 2 days. Rebecca, congrats on being back on track after bingeing. I have problems getting back on track after sweets and specially bread. You can substitute the sweets with sweetener, but not really whole wheat nut and seed bread with a good Gruyere and grapes... So portion control is the key, but I always feel terribly guilty, and have the urge to duplicate the sensation in the next few days. It really sucks to have to wean yourself every time. Pauline, thanks for the tips on fitness!! I'm approaching heavy winter now, and am still figuring out how to stay in shape when I can't run outside. I am also trying to figure out what "normal" people do to control their weight. So hang in there, you are so not alone. Dae_tona, I am also trying to go by the clothes fit instead of the scale, specially that I am exercising more, and water and muscle weight fluctuate in a weird way and I know I'm not getting fatter. Maybe one day I'll stop weighing 3x daily... To all of you Kissa, Loretta, Bella, mac24312, Ailuros, Deb, Stargazey and everyone else who's in this thread - Congratulations!! You are winging the hardest part of weight loss, and are in the minority that manages to maintain losses! Now go and celebrate with some Lindt 85% chocolate. You can eat it all at 19gr per 100g bar ( see me rationalizing here? Part of the problem...but well, we are only human... :-)) ) Have fun over the weekend!!!!!!! F. |

Still 135, though I had a quick affair with 134 earlier this week. I can no longer blame TOM.
Thank for the kind words fviegas. |

Love your new avi Cindy! You look so relaxed
![]() I have been eating on plan and lost one pound. Oh well, its better than up!! Actually Im adjusting to 140 as my goal and I dont seem to be able to maintain lower than that, and I hover just above it. I guess I need to decide if its worth pushing to lose more. Bella |

Hello!
I just realized that I'm within 10 lbs of my original goal. Mind if I join in? I weighed in this morning at 158.2. I'll change my stats after a few days of being this weight. Have a great day! ![]() |

![]() It has taken me a very long while to accept myself at a higher weight. But, now that I truly have, I am both more free and more happy! Yes, I'm not as thin as I once was, but being thinner came at a big price. I am much healthier now filling out my size 2s, rather than swimming in them. ![]() *I'm under 110 today, so all is well!* Liz !!!KUTGW ![]() |

My scale said 123.5 this morning. I really don't want to accept that. I weighed again a little later in the day and with my clothes on and the scale read 122. I am going to re weigh in the morning. Am I too picky or is it my scale?
Cindy, what a nice picture of you. You look like you are having a grand time there. Love the color red on you. |

Hi, everyone,
and for you in the US : Happy Thanksgiving!! Thank you for your support in this and other low-carb boards. I'm thankful for finding my way into health again. Stable 135 since the end of TOM. Running really contributes to stability, as I think it drains the excess water in the body. I have a problem with water retention and I seem to have found a way to deal with it. Have a very nice holiday and weekend everybody!!! F. |
