132.1 today.

I do best at maintenance when I eat three meals a day, no snacking, and only water between meals. But after my trip to Barcelona two months ago, I can't seem to get back into the mode of about 5 hours between meals. Does anybody have any hints on how to get from one healthy meal to the next without snacking in between? Thanks in advance!

125 today. This is not good. I can name the culprits:

Swedish pancakes
Apple pie, several pieces
coffee cake
a very good Polish Buffet with stuffed cabbage, periogies, blintzes and lots of it.
A whipped cream cake.

Had a nice time visiting with family but sure was out of routine.

My sister and brothers and me in the green.

I don't know what your meals are comprised of (?)
But, have you tried upping your fiber &/or protein or fats?

I chew SF gum b/w meals; sometimes that helps with the "snackies."

I am 123.75 today. Have added in filberts daily as a snack. They are not my favorite nuts but since we have 70 acres of them they are free. I do measure them and do not binge on them like some of the other nuts. I actually am starting to like them better.

Stargazey - I find I do better with 3 planned meals and 2 snacks. Otherwise I get too hungry between meals. I know that is not what you were asking but could you take something away from your meals and have it as a snack.

I still weigh and measure most of my food as I am still trying to lose a little more. I think I will continue doing this at least several times a week even when I become satisfied with my weight.

Loretta you look great! What a nice bunch you all are!

Happy Halloween everyone and step away from the candy!

I have been doing well but haven't been weighing. My clothes are a bit big on me and I can fit in a smaller bra as well. I think I am losing inches if not pounds. I've started swimming which is wonderful. Wish I could swim laps everyday of my life. I will have access to an indoor pool for another week so I will definitly be enjoying it

Thanks Tecno While on vacation my pants were fitting me loosely and I thought I would be ok on the scale. But my pants said one thing and my scale said another.

Congrats on your continued success. How do you like your new home?

Could not resist getting on the scale today. Hard to believe but down to 121, within my range. Must have been a lot of water weight.

I'm at 116.2 this morning, so still in the 116-118 range I've been in all year, but as I'm at the lower end of it, I'm hopeful that there is a little bit of downward movement. It's a pound less than last week's number - but that's within the range of normal random fluctuations, so I'll have to be patient and wait a bit longer to see if things are really changing at all.

Good going Ailuros,
I am also maintaining at 135, feeling healthier than ever, thanks to my
running and pilates schedule. I cannot get down to 132 as I was expecting,
but my body looks awsome, much better than the last time I was 132, so
I think muscle tone has a lot to do with it.
I identify completely with the person on the other thread about "maintaining
but gaining". It is so hard not to be a slave to a number in the scale, even when
your mirror, clothes and other people say otherwise.
I've been having lots of cheats( mostly chocolates and a small cookie at night)
which I know I cannot keep up, the minute I stop running, so I'll be working on that these next weeks.
At least until the Christmas annual binge, which I am so looking forward to...
well, you have to embrace your weaknesses, but give them the tough love of time constraints. :-)
Cheers to you all!!
F.

130.5 this morning, not bad considering I survived last weekend and a retirement dinner Mon. night. However I did do day 1 of The Scardale Diet on Tues. That kept me in line! I really do try to stay within my eating plan because I don't like to play make-up, although 1 day of eating strictly really doesn't kill me!

Congrats to all of you for even losing on maintainence. WTG I like to stay at the low end also. Weight today 121.

I joined our local Curves and will see if that will have me lose weight. (the gal put me down for a goal of losing 10 pounds) My main concern for joining was to strengthen my bones because of osteopenia. I really don't want to lose 10 pounds at my age.

F, I like your thought: well, you have to embrace your weaknesses, but give them the tough love of time constraints. :-) Knowing that we can eat some of the things we really like, ONCE IN A WHILE. But back to basics for the most part.

Good morning all. It sounds like we are a great bunch of maintainers.

I am 123.4 today. I think my final goal is going to be 117 with a leeway of 2 pounds either way.

I congratulate those who have been maintaining for a long time. It definitely is a learning game. I don't know if it is harder than losing but definitely something you have to figure out for yourself. I think the hardest part for me is the mindset of not losing. I don't know if that makes sense to anyone else but all along to me it was about getting these pounds off. Suddenly you arrive at the goal and then what? My initial goal was 135. I maintained that from April until August. Then I realized I would feel much better at a lower weight. But I also enjoyed the losing. So I hope I can be satisfied at 117 and just enjoy maintaining.

Dianne, I definitely know what you mean. It took quite a while for me to get used to not having the "reward" of seeing a lower number each week, and also to stop thinking that whatever weight I was, just another five pounds would be even better .

Hi, everyone!!!
I'm at 134 this week, my weight has been very stable, even with some moderate cheats.
I find the slow long runs have a positive influence in this stability.
Best of luck to you all!!!
Cheers,
F.

Hello, fviegas .

I'm a bit higher than last week's low: 117.4 this morning. Still pretty much in the 116-118 range, where I've been all year.
