Thanks Bella, I don't care for oatmeal so I am safe there but yesterday I had WAY too much of the double fiber bread so I think I may have to cut it out. I was doing well with it and only having a couple slices every couple of days or so but I got out of control with it yesterday so I guess I need to cut it out. I think I will go back to clean as well. At least for a little while.
Thanks Dyan, I'll have to check out the ingredients if I see it at the store. I forgot about the scale until after I had had something this morning so I guess I will do it tomorrow AM. I think I am scared of what it will say but I have to get back to my normal everyday routine now that we are in the new house I should be able to.

Well...I was going to move into maintenance mode for fat loss and then I thought 'ummm...who am I kidding? I've been in maintenance mode for a month now because I haven't really pushed myself on my workouts, and I'm working out comfortably.' So I started pushing my workouts more a week ago.
So-even though I was a day late to enter for monetary rewards-I decided to do the Body for Life challenge...You can't put a monetary value on getting in better shape...so that's why I decided to do it...I still follow my Atkins program but I do their workouts... Which means...I have put the scale aside...I got on Monday to see where I was...(133 lbs-I usually don't get on after a free day but did this time since I started BFL on Monday) and I have decided to stay off for twelve weeks-the entire time of the program. Why? Because a scale number will not show me the changes my body will be making over the next 12 weeks-so I am going by how my clothes fit instead. So wish me luck!! Dyan

Of course, it has been a 'sorta' challenge to stay off the scale...but I am doing it!
My size 3 jean skirt that was tight on me last time I tried it on fits me perfectly now...and the best part? It's no longer tight around my thighs-where it used to be the tighest. Yea! So-of course-seeing this result-makes you wonder...but then, I thought-'well, if I get on & see I've gone up 5 lbs, I will get disappointed & quit.' I know my way of thinking...And I'm determined not to quit! Plus who can argue about fitting into a size 3? I'll take a size over a number anyday! I started the intervals back last week & these are the results I am already seeing-just one week in...now that I've added the challenging weight training, I am anxious to know where I'll end up... Hi, everyone,
way to go dae_tona. I applaud you for being able to stay off the scale!! I am taking my measurements as well, to see if I can get to the desired 26 inch waist... I'm now at my lowest weight of 133 ( You were right, Tada! I'm seeing it again ;-) ). I'm in week 2 of the couch25k program, and I can definitely see a difference in my body tone.I am so amazed at running, as I am SO not a runner, but I did 3 minutes yesterday and I was very proud of myself. Still struggling to see what I can eat in maintenance, and how far I can go. I think the running definitely increases my carb tolerance, although it increases my appetite too :-). I'll just do what my body tells me too, while trying to keep carbs around 40-45 this week. Best of luck to you all!!! |

Way to Go Fviegas!!!!!!
Congratulations Dae_tona on your size 3s!!!!!!! 12 weeks is a long time to go without weighing on Maintenance!!!! I'd be afraid I'd go too far down in weight. Well, my weight is down again. Goal weight is 135-130 and I am down to 128.5 (And I have water weight in my chest, so my real weight is likely less than that). Last week I decided to take out a day of exercising and that worked just fine. I am going to give it another week and then add in some more food to slow down weightloss - probably I'll just change my breakfast to something bigger. But I have really cool news! I took measurements this morning and if I compare them to measurements from 2 years ago at this weight, I have gone down in bodyfat percentage at the same weight and gained 2 pounds of LBM (muscle). That is cool!!! ![]() Goal Range: 130-135 Jun Average ... 132.00 Jul Average ... 131.75 Aug Average ... 129.25 Aug 22 ... 128.75 pre-vacation Aug 29 ... 130.50 post-vacation Sep 05 ... 130.00 Sep 12 ... 128.5 |

Sounds like this Friday is off to a good start so far.
Today I weighed 121.6. The # is slowly going down which is always better than going up! Off to workout. Have a great weekend everyone. |

Thank you all!!
I am not too worried about going to low in weight...as just being under 5'1 and weighing 133 lbs...I could probably weigh less and still look fine...if the DH thinks I'm getting too thin, he'll let me know...so that's my gauge now...I don't want to look gaunt...no thank you...I don't think I'll lose on the scale as much as I will in inches...which, of course, is the way I'd rather have it... Tada...that is great about the measurements! Isn't it amazing how we can weigh the same as two years ago but be smaller all around? That's the beauty of low carb. Fviegas...congragulations on doing the Couch to 5k program...I think it's a great program for anyone who wants to start running...and it's so easy to follow...remember: walking is good for the butt. running is good for the gut. I've been running off and on for five years now. Even came in 1st place for my age group during a 7k...keep doing the Couch to 5k...and you might get there, too...well, if you want to run a 7k... Thanks a lot dae_tona and Tada! !
I am doing this now to shift the focus from food to fitness. My company has a running club, that is doing 5k competitions on a regular basis. Who knows, I might go to one next year! That would be awsome! Have a nice weekend everyone!! |

118.8 this morning. The number has been creeping up a tiny bit over the past week -- I've been letting my distraction over my new dog be an excuse for not keeping up my food journal. Decided to turn that around today, because while I haven't been eating off plan I think I'm hitting the nuts a bit too much and generally don't feel as clear on my intake.

Weight this Sunday is at 121. Yesterday I had a bad eating day and ate a glazed donut AND a piece of pecan pie. Both tasted so good but I ended up with a headache and a queezy stomach. Too much sugar for me.

Well, I was going to wait the whole 12 weeks to weigh...but then realized that I should weigh every two weeks for two reasons:
1. To make sure I'm not eating under my calorie deficit 2. To make sure I'm not eating over my calorie deficit Those are the only two reasons as I continue the BFL program. So I'll weigh in next Monday & do the measurements that I took when I started. That'll be the two week mark for me. Has it been difficult to stay off the scale? Not as difficult as I thought it would be. I got through week one. Week two should be a no-brainer. Dyan |

Hi, everyone, hope you're doing great.
I averaged 133 this week, with a min 132.5 and max of 134 today due to PMS. Still trying to figure out my CCL, but from what I have been trying 50 seems to be a good number to maintain. My calories have increased and I'm on week3 of couch25k and loving it!! Have a nice weekend everyone!!! F. |

I was 118 this morning. It's towards the upper end of where I like to be, but it's half a pound less than last week, which isn't bad considering we've had visitors all week, and I've got a cold, which sometimes makes me gain a bit of water weight.

Not a good week for me!!!
Tore a muscle in my back -> water retention On codeine -> very constipated Binged on Tuesday night (but am over it, thankfully) Skipped an additional exercise day Weight is up 2.5 pounds to 131 pounds. That is still within goal range, so not a big deal at all except that it messes up my experiment to see what combination of food and exercise keeps me maintaining and not losing weight. Anyhow, last night was my first night I slept through without waking for pain meds - skipped two doses! so things are looking up and shold be back to normal this week. Fviegas Nice job on maintaining this week!!!!! Ailuros Congrats on the half pound ... that is really awesome considering you have guests too!!!! KUTGW All!!!!!! |

Weight is 121.6 today. Earlier in the week I had 2 days of 120.2
Didn't change a thing. I know it cannot be actual true weight gain but mentally it irks me. ![]() Have a great weekend everyone. |

Joining in....
After reaching my goal 10 months ago I have finally decided that I have to join in this thread to be accountable. I weigh 160 today which is 5 pounds above my goal weight. I am back on induction to get the weight back down and I am not finding it very easy.
I think after a summer of eating on and off my plan the addiction monster has reared its ugly head. I am here to lose the weight I have put on and to stay accountable every week. I find that when I am eating off plan, I avoid the scale and things slide upwards. I know that the scale has to be part of my life in order to maintain my weight. I am very disciplined with exercise, my issue is FOOOD!![]()

Tada! lots of hugs for you, get better.
homestretch, welcome!! I find that I have to weight every day while I am still getting the hang of what works and not. Maybe in a while I will cut to once per week, if eating properly. This thread also helps to stay accountable! Have a great weekend, everyone!! F. |

117.2 today (well, yesterday literally; I got distracted this morning and forgot to weigh before breakfast!). So all's good. I did get back to journalling my food this past week. There never seems to be a really clear correlation between what I eat one day and what my weight is the next (I had a small ice cream Tuesday and was down a half pound Wednesday, for example), but I like the accountability.

Homestretch, good for you! It will work....I went back on induction after gaining 12 lbs very slowly and not keeping a careful eye on it. I was below my goal so much that I was not careful, and then I realized my pants were getting tight and some not fitting! So I did induction again and the weight came off in 3 weeks. So you can do it!
I was 137 today. Bella |
