Where is everyone?
Alright all you maintainers.... come on back, we miss ya!
I know it's the holidays, but I can't go 2 days without see how everyone is doing!! Lisa, what's the news? Did you find a really great outfit? I bet you were smiling like a Chesire cat when you tried on the new smalller sizes. Kissa, Homestretch, Delynmonet, Glamour Puss and everyone else.... how is life treating you? Where are our new members? We have to keep the thread going, we've all made too much progress to let it fall by the side. Life is fine here. Sunny and warm in Florida, 80's again today. Doesn't seem like winter is almost here. We'll get a little cold snap into the 60's over the weekend. I'm spoiled, like using the fireplace for a day or two and then like being able to go outside with shorts again the next week. Going to a family gathering this weekend and will be nice to see people that we only get to visit once or twice a year. I'm anxious to see the reactions of family that hasn't seen me since I started to lose weight. MY SIL especially. She fights with her weight and is always looking for a quick fix. Says it takes to much effort to cook and diet. She's probably 250 and in her early 60's. Hopefully, I'll be able to motivate her to make some changes. My weight as of today is 158. Down 44 pounds! Keep losing inches, too (which helps me when the scale doesn't move as fast as I'd like). Getting my hair cut and colored tomorrow and will pick up another new pair of jeans for the reunion. Can't wait to see what size fits!! Well, I need to go have some lunch and run some errands. Have a great day everyone! Last edited by Deb79fl; 12-12-2007 at 12:28 PM.. |

![]() ![]() I had to keep checking the tags to be sure-I was convinced i would need the larger size. I got a black pencil skirt and a cute dark purple knit top. Also decided to throw in a pair of black kitten heel slingbacks. Honestly I just felt pretty and it's been too long since that happened. Love the NS victories |

Congrats again!!
WOOHOO!!!
Alright Deb!!! Down another pound -way to go!!I looked on the board this morning and did not see anything happening and had decided to wait a few more hours to see what was going on!!! That's great news! I for myself am anxious to hear from others too - yes, you are soooo right - let's keep this board fiery hot! Although I have reached my goal, I check in periodically to cheer others on!! My goal is constantly to maintain - which I am doing with the shakes. It's been hectic for me that I just recorded my TM exercising posts after three days - but don't worry - I will be lurking around. Okay, I look forward to seeing other's posts . . . and am sure I will. ![]() Lisa, Congrats to you too!!! New clothes that are a few sizes smaller definitely works!! Enjoy them and I know that you wear them WELL!!! Keep up the good work!

WTG Lisa! Those are my favorite colors BTW! I used to wear them all the time, until I got big, then just wanted to "blend" into the environment and not have anyone notice me. Can hardly wait until spring when we'll be thinner still. Will drive my hubby nuts cause I like bright colors and he's stuck in neutral. For him dressing up is new jeans and a new blue or gray t-shirt!!
Del... always appreciate your "high fives" and WTG! Guess it won't be long before we'll all be in maintenace and have to start another thread! How sweet! Never would have thought 6 months ago I would be thinking about maintenance. I'm so happy I've stuck this out and found this site. It was really a life saver! |

Not really hungry so the shakes are just great. I have cooked a big pan of soup for tonight, starting from scratch with the bones. They are always the best.

Mini Whoosh!
Happy Monday a.m. Everyone!
Just as short note before I'm off to work. I'm celebrating a small whoosh today... Last Monday 159.2, today 156.2. Down 3 pounds in one week! I'm so happy! My only change has been discontinuing my CLA/GLA combo and I had been taking Fuco-Thin for about six weeks. I don't know if stopping the supplements has been the cause, but I'll stay off them for a few weeks to shake things up some more. Will be back later today to see how everyone is doing. |

155
155 Can't believe it!! 47 pounds down. With any luck, I'll hit the 50 pound mark before New Years... that would be MARVELOUS! Now wearing a 10/12 instead of a womens 20.I was going to change my plan somewhat when I reached this, but, I think I'll keep on doing what is working for me. I've been having low carb bread a few days a week, but otherwise have not added any additional carbs back in. Not sure why I'm dropping the weight (this makes over 5 pounds this month), but I will not complain. ![]() I wanted to be in the 150's by the end of the year and am so happy it has happened. I'm now 20 pounds short of my goal, which I want to reach by May 2008 (my anniversary date). Looks like it will not be a problem! I'm still in awe that I've gotten so close... it's been 13 years since I've been in the 150's. |

Thank you both Kissa and Dely!
I'm hoping that "Santa" will bring me to the 50 pound mark. Last weekend we had our family get together. Had a nice time, I stayed on plan, too. Most of the family noticed, my MIL immediately (and she doesn't see very well some days). I have a "bad taste" though for my SIL. She did not say one word about my weight loss. My hubby says it's because she's jealous. Yeah, probably.... but, would it have killed her to acknowledge or say "you look nice". She barely talked to me and didn't even make eye contact with me for most of the day. Hubby says I need to let it go, as he can't believe it has made me so upset. I told him I've worked hard to stay on track and it really hurt my feelings. My solution is to kill her with kindness next time I see her (and I fully expect to be at or below goal when that happens) ![]() ![]() evily OK.. I'm being mean, but, I will flaunt my new look. My 47th birthday will be in February and I fully expect to look like I did at 30, if it kills me! |

Debs, I am so sorry that you have been upset by your SIL. I have no doubt that she is jealous and you must just take a deep breath move on.
You are doing such a wonderful job, don't let this knock you back. You will look better that you did at 30!!!! |

Thanks Cindy
I know it's petty and I shouldn't have let it get under my skin. I guess I was disappointed in her reaction. Yes, I've let it go. Have to, because the only person it hurts is me! I guess it was kind of silly of me to have expected her to reaction that same way I would have. I would have been shocked, frustrated, and then said "How the heck did you do it and how can I do it, too?!" Luckily, I have friends and family that are very supportive since they know how long I've struggled with this. I had to laugh at something my hubby told me about last weekend. He was in a different room (at the relatives house) and when he came into the living room told me he had to come around to look at my face, since he didn't recognize me from the rear! Said he was still used to seeing a "wider" version of me. I'm sure he'll get used to the "new" me again soon! So, enough about me... How are you doing? What are you plans for Christmas? Going away or doing anything special? The thread is kind of quite this week, I'm sure everyone is busy with holiday plans, but I miss all the news! I know the first of the year the whole board will be VERY active again with lots of "newbies'. Maybe we'll get a few more members that we can convince to try our way. Have a great holiday if you don't get a chance to post again. |

Hope all is well - I know everyone is busy - but yes, we'll be back to normalcy soon! First of all, Debs - we are sooo very proud of you and from the sound of your hubby - he is too!!! That's really all that matters - you and your hubby - yes, your SIL is extremely jealous . . . if she only took the time to compliment you . . . she'd learn how to take charge of her health and weight - like you have. It is very disturbing, nonetheless, but hold your head up very high, as you STRUT YOUR STUFF!!! You have all the reasons in the world to.Last week, I had a fall out with a co-worker of mine - to my surprise and dismay - and I finally figured it out - she is jealous of my weight loss successes! She constantly (daily) says something NEGATIVE about HER looks, HER weight, HER hair, HER legs, HER butt, HER face. And, I tell her that she is beautiful, and encourage her when she's down to get to the gym and use her membership - even if she loses 10 pounds - that would make a difference. Anyway, she took a simple and general statement I made about college (a discussion she started at my desk) that sometimes it is difficult for many students to find jobs and I feel bad about that (I do have emotions) and she turned it around and said I was referring to HER, that I was saying it was a waste of HER time, and yelled at me in the lady's room when I expressed that she had been mighty quiet with me lately!! Anyway, it came to me when she wrote me a nasty email saying that I was jealous of HER college education - I began to realize that since she can't get her weight in check and watched me come down within one year to my goal - as she stands at my desk calling herself a fat slob - she's got JEALOUSY ISSUES! ![]() My hubby also recommended that I let it go . . . and I have. Even though I feel that I've done nothing wrong - after several back and forthing of emails -I apologized for whatever I may have said that "hurt her feelings" - when I walk into work she's already aware from my response to her emails that it is strictly HELLO and GOODBYE as we must work together.Sorry for such a long post - but simply being smaller and achieving your weight loss successes can set off a Mountain from out of a Mole hill! In actuality, you've done what's good and right for you - keep up the good work and let it go . . . she's got the issues, and you've got the goods! ![]() Last edited by delynmonet; 12-22-2007 at 08:42 AM.. |

Thanks for sharing that Del. We all need to know that we are not alone with our problems. It's a long time since I reached goal but some people have never been the same with me, they liked me being the fat one and them being the slim ones.
People are odd. |

Yes, people are quirky!
I think this time of the year can bring out both the best and unfortunately the worst in people. We can be so generous and giving one moment and turn into a screaming B**** the next. I think the stress of trying to make everything "perfect" tends to overwhelm people. I know, speaking for myself, I have always struggled with the end of year, when I "suddenly" realize that I'm still getting older and didn't accomplish the things that I promised myself I would do this year. Well, 2007 at least got me into a healthier frame of mind (about darn time, too!), so I look forward to 2008 (and my 47th birthday in February) with no regrets. Been far too many years since I've been happy with myself and my life. The sad reality is that no one else is responsible for making our life happy but us. How many people must say if they were only thin, only had more money, only had a better partner, more time, etc.,... every day? Life is too short to waste and I say that you must look inside yourself to make your life better. Del, sounds like you co-worker is dealing with some personal issues and it's a shame she thinks she should hold you responsible for her problems/failures. I would keep copies of the e-mail exchange just in case any other issues arise. I used to work at a law firm that handled labor and employment issues and you'd be surprised at the things that turned in legal messes. This is especially important if she is in a position of power or even indirectly can influence what other supervisors or managers might thing about you or your performance. Just CYA.. in my opinion. One of my former bosses/ partner in my law firm has dealt with weight issues for a long time, too. When I told her I had lost weight, she told me she hated me. I knew she was joking and told her as much. She said, I love you and you know it's cause I'm jealous that you've been able to stick to this for the long term, but she is happy for me. I think she felt better, especially when I told her I still struggled every day and was deathly afraid of going back to the old me. Sometimes, I think people don't understand the daily struggles to keep in control. I feel like an alcoholic some days, that the wrong choice could set me over the edge and reeling backwards w/o being able to regain control. Problem is, you have to eat, there is no way around it! This turned into a longer post that I planned, but is always good to share! Still have a little food buying to do for Christmas Eve dinner and Christmas day. Making spaghetti with red clam sauce for Christmas Eve (dreamfield pasta), so that will be my splurge. I'll have my shake for breakfast and possibly lunch, too. Christmas day will be steak with sauteed mushrooms, probably sauteed onions, as well. Looking for a low carb sweet treat, any ideas? Well, better close for now, lots to do! Have a Merry Christmas and great holiday season ! Last edited by Deb79fl; 12-23-2007 at 09:54 AM.. |

Thanks Kissa and Deb for your encouragement! As a matter of a fact, Deb, I did save her emails - I printed each and every one of them. She's a legal assistant to lawyers like I am . . . we're tenants to her company but just in case I will CYA!!! I am very close with her supervisor - who shares issues with her aunt (who like my mom has bouts with Alzheimer's) and other things.
But I am hoping that this will not continue. Anyway, I know that everyone is in a festive mood - and I don't want to spoil that with my ranting. Enjoy your holiday and will be checking in. By the way, you all should be hearing from me more as I am FINALLY BACK FROM THE POCONOS!! My hubby and I had a wonderful time!! It was beautiful and just what we needed - he's back to work on Tuesday . . . he's never home during the holidays - I am used to it so its no bother to me after all of these years.
