Del & Homestretch~ Thank you for sharing your experiences-it helps to know others have gone through this and succeeded. I am hoping that once I am able to break through to the 150's I will go back to losing a little better. Everytime Ive gotten below 165 I STRUGGLE and bounce up and down but cant get any further. I am holding steady at 160 today so we shall see...

Those numbers look good to me Lisa. As you know I don't look a calories but as long as those carbs are good veggies and the like it looks wonderful to me.
Just promise me you don't allow yourself to go hungry! That way lies disaster. Here is to the 150s coming soon. You deserve it and I so believe in the shakes to help get you there. |

Cindy, so nice of you to say I've been missed!
Just wanted to pop in and say you've all been doing a fab job with the shakes routine! I've been having a lot of shakes this week because of the bloody cold I have. Since I can't taste I really don't feel like eating. I figure why bother if I can't taste?????!!!!! Anyhoo, I finally broke a new low of 149.6 lbs today! I can't believe I saw the 140s on my scale this morning! I want this to stick sooooooo badly but I just know as I get better it will creep up again. I've been stuck at 151 for ages it seems. Fingers crossed.........

Sorry I haven't posted this week, just way too many things to do. Anyway, I have ended up this week alternating shakes with a carb level under 80 and cals under 1200. Since last week have lost 3 lbs. I expect this is just water but what the hey I'm not complaining. Now---the trick for me is to not get too confident because if I do I either stop losing or actually gain back. My husband is an over the road trucker and I do O.K. when he is gone but when he's home all bets are off. He is one of those with a hummingbird metabolism and he eats quite alot. Do the math on this one. Will post again after Thanksgiving.
Have a great holiday everyone! ![]() Suze Last edited by SuzeZee : 11-16-2007 at 10:07 AM. Reason: Mistake |

Hello all, I have done Atkins before and it has always worked for me, So I am starting induction today and would like to join you all doing the 2 shakes per day. My plan is to do 2 shakes per day, a snack, and a nice Low-Carb dinner. How often do you all weigh yourselves?
Please Advise! Last edited by LowCarbingCarmen : 11-16-2007 at 11:28 AM. |

Hi Carmen, I did the exact plan that you are doing and it worked well. I weighed myself almost every day while losing. However, I do not think that is necessary and I think that you should do whatever is most motivating. Weighing every day can be a challenge because you have to watch all the ups and downs and there were times when I had to weigh every few days because it was so frustrating. I know a lot of people weigh once a week and are very happy doing that. Good luck! |

Carmen. You will enjoy this thread, everyone is so positive and helpful. I weigh when ever I feel like it now but when I was losing it was every day!It is so good to see how well everyone is doing here. Wish me luck because I a off to Italy for almost 2 weeks.... I know I will have the most wonderful time but it will be a challenge eating wise. I am sure I will manage though, the pasta will be quite easy to refuse but the pizza is harder for me. A couple of years ago I was in Naples for a day on a cruise and I allowed myself a wonderful thin crispy genuine pizza. I shall do the same this time!

I'm currently trying to break through this stall I seem to have been on forever. I plan on using 1 shake a day however. Could I still participate in the group?

Thanks ladies. Today I didn't eat much, my stomach wa wonky all morning (damn IBS
) but I planned/packed out all my meals for the rest of the day since I had a marathon study session at Starbucks with some of my classmates. I'm a bit obsessive about my grades.Lunch - turkey, spinach, blue cheese, walnut burger (Dottie's recipe) Snack - ice venti coffee with a splash of heavy cream and sf vanilla Dinner - Atkins shake |

Hello again! Well, I didn't stick at 149.6 lbs but I'm sticking now at 150.2 lbs so I'm not complaining! My end of month goal is to reach 148.0 lbs and I know I can do it even with Thanksgiving this week. I always make plenty of sides that are LC but usually I'm all about my turkey leg and homemade cranberry sauce anyway!!! Also, I'm going to make LC pumpkin cheesecake from the recipe board.
Today... B- shake L - tuna & egg mayo D - hm, not sure yet but may be taco salad Hope you all have a FAB Thanksgiving! Welcome Extraordinary and have a great holiday, Cindy! Last edited by Glamour Puss : 11-19-2007 at 07:08 AM. |

LowCarbCarmen, Extraordinary & GlamourPuss!!! Glad to have you all here! The board is growing and there are so many future and new successes that we look forward too!I've been away from the board for a few days, so I am just catching up! Suze and GlamourPuss - congrats on the weight loss. GlamourPuss - don't worry about the up and down thing . . . I have learned to give myself a two-pound spread - I found that while I was losing the weight I'd reach a low number and then go and LowCarbCarmen: I would weigh myself every few days to get an idea how my weight loss journey was coming along. That's what I still do. Everyone has to be comfortable with keeping tabs on the scale. It did not phase me in the least because I was keeping a journal - so it was not about freaking out if I saw the numbers rise - it was just a part of the process. That's how I determined the two-pound gauge that was going on. Therefore, keeping a journal provided numbers that I could compare with a year ago, two months ago, a week ago, etc. It still is a progress report/chart for me. Now, if I were to see 5 or more pounds on the scale - I'd know it would be time to "buckle up" and get rid of the excess. Wouldn't want that to be a regular number in my journal! ![]() I look forward to reading your posts of your progresses! Thanks for stopping by and joining us!

I was down to 201 this morning from 203 this Sunday
, but who knows what it will be tomorrow . I don't mind slow losses but I hate all the bouncing up.Today I ate about the same thing as yesterday. early lunch - EAS shake, dinner -2 turkey, feta, spinach walnut burgers, wendy's caesar side salad snack - venti coffee of the day w/ sf carmel and vanilla and heavy cream I'm around induction carb levels and pray the decrease in carbs will get the scale moving. Hopefully a few weeks of induction levels and using the shakes will finally be enough to get me to onederland.

I had a few minutes to post before I go to get my DH at the truckstop. He drives for a big company out of Sacramento and will be home for three days. Went to Costco yesterday and had to buy the dreaded pumpkin pie and pumpkin cheesecake. Just the words alone made me blow up! I usually don't put on much weight during holidays. I also don't usually lose any weight, period! In fact I seem to maintain nicely at "whatever" weight I am. One thing I do believe that the concept of lots of little meals won't work for me. I need to eat only when hungry and that is usually around 1pm. Years ago I lost 35lbs and pretty much only ate one main meal with a couple of snacks sandwiched around that. My regular doc (who just happens to be a cardiologist) shrugged and said that there is no reason a person can't get by on that. He was amazed at what I had done. Let's see if I can do it again. I am really listening to how my ole' body feels in that regard. Fingers crossed for return of the king and the meals I have to create for him! He loves to eat!!

When I stepped on the scale this morning I saw 199.4 . I know it probably won't last, but seeing onederland again was enough to make me put in extra time at the gym this morning. My meals today were pretty good but some how I feel like I overate. My carbs were well under induction levels so we shall what the scale says in the morning .breakfast - ham and egg whites snack - EAS shake lunch - 2 turkey spinach feta burgers dinner - wendy's baconator - hold the bun and ketchup add lettuce an |
