Maintainers April 30

Hey gang,

Sorry to have been MIA for so long! We got a new 'puter last weekend and have been trying to work out the bugs. So far, no luck. The guy that built it will have to come out and do some serious stuff i.e. wiping the hard drive and installing windows yadda yadda yadda....... Long story, but hopefully we'll get the dang thing right or we'll get our money back (yes, that could happen, I'm too ornery to let this go on, and DH is more ornery than me!) SO, if he can straighten everything out, we'll have a fresh hard drive and an uncorrupted operating system......and hopefully be good to go re hardware for the next several years. Right now I'm working on the old system, which will be up until the new one gets FIXED!

Need to copy our favorites to disc too, just thought of that.

Hope all are doing well, especially Loretta and DH! to all!

Hi Ginny

Sorry to hear about those PC problems. I find those problems to be so frustrating. It almost makes me ill until things get right again.
There is a local fella here that does pc but I would just rather buy one from a dealer and go that route.

I guess I had the date mixed up on my weekend post. Don't know what day it is.

Dh is doing very well all things considered. Up with some soreness which is expected. The lortabs for pain are making him hallucinate so we are going to switch to darvocet n 100. I think that will work better. He was picking thru my hair last night in his sleep.

Hi and to those MIA. It would be nice to hear from all of you.
Just wondering whatttttttttttttt'ssssssssssss up with you all.

We wondered where you had gone to, Ginny. Missed you on the Gate too.

Sorry about those computer problems. I hope the guy can get them straightened out.

Loretta, sorry your DH is having all those problems with pain meds. They can be pretty nasty. I hope the Darvocet works better. How much longer do you think he will need to be on them? My mom was off within a week of surgery. If that's any consolation.

Absolutely lovely day here and up to almost 70 degrees. I think we will have one or two more of them. It was a great day for just sitting on the deck reading. Tomorrow I 'll do pretty much the same. I'm in the midst of a bad case of spring fever.

Waving to our MIAs

Good evening for the last day of April - Ginny, Loretta, and Linda!

I think you might be right Loretta, accountability - for those extra pounds. I pulled the scale out from under the bed and it is sitting right there in the bathroom - to be used all the time. When I was losing, I used the scale all the time.

Ginny - give that guy a piece of "****" and tell him to make it right!! Nothing more irratating than services that aren't delivered! You would NOT want to work for me!

Linda, it's nice to know that you are also human and have some weight loss issues - for a while, I thought you were "perfect". Other medical issues many times do interfer with weight loss issues.

Loretta, and hope DH is doing better this week.

Hey gang,

Yep, we'll get it all worked out OR ELSE.

Another thing going on this week was jury duty. 4 days worth, with 2 cases. One civil and one criminal. Feel good about the civil case, the plaintiff was WAY out there in what he was asking for considering he had severe pre-existing conditions (car wreck) and was about 250 lbs overweight. Wanted to make the woman who hit him responsible for his self induced physical mess. The criminal case I'm not pleased with. Too many people in this world want to excuse potheads and drunks from responsibility. Only 3 of us on the jury wanted to place a felony conviction on this guy, I would have in a heartbeat...... but bleeding hearts put a stop to that. I think more would have come to our side with just one more piece of evidence and we'd have been able to hang the barstid. I had an interesting chat with the ADA after the case was done. I had a couple ??s for her, and she asked me about who on the jury went which way. She was curious about how she 'read' people and her accuracy, with a couple people in particular. I then asked her what 'read' she got from me and she said that she got NO READ from me and one other guy. I was surprised at that, told her I didn't know I had that good of a poker face, and she said she didn't play poker. Told her 'neither do I'. I'm pleased that she couldn't read me, I like to bide my time before letting my true colors show!

Loretta, glad you'll be getting your DH on the Darvocet, I can't imagine hallucinations are any fun for him. Wishing him a speedy recovery and good health really soon!

Linda, woohoo on the 70 deg. weather! Those first few days of that are so wonderful! We've been cloudy and rainy for a couple days and I'm ready for some sunshine.

Barb, I gave up (read as threw out) our old bathroom scale when I found out it wasn't accurate in the least! No plans to get another one, I'll just go by how I look and how my clothes fit! Of course that's all looking better since I"ve started the workouts, it's starting to even SHOW!

That's about all the news for now. Hope everyone has a great night!
