Wednesday April 12 for maintainers
Hello, Hello
I know you'r out there. Guess spring has sprung and everyone is out and about. Nice weather here too. DH was catching some nice crappie for a day or so, but they have just turned off. Not even a nibble. Just did not like to see a blank page for the maintainers. Hope you all are gearing up for a nice Easter Celebration. Get those bonnets ready and dusted off. Catch you later. |

Good morning Loretta,
And I'll post so that you are not there by yourself.! ! I haven't thought about a Easter bonnet for ages. Do people still wear one? Have you been involved in decorating the church for Easter? We have a teacher's in-service on Friday ~~ I'm just not used to having to work on Good Friday. I think it depends on what part of the country you live in whether you have off or not. Barb |

Hey Barb
Yes we have been preparing for the services. Ready to wash feet: ![]() And the Altar of Repose: ![]() One more biggie to go and that will be for Sunday. That should be the easiest with mostly flowers. So glad you asked. Dont have a bonnet myself but do have a nice yellow suit. Some are off on Good Friday and some not but I do not think it is a Federal Holiday. Last edited by Loretta V : 04-13-2006 at 08:45 AM. |

Hey y'all,
Got my workout done and am sitting down here for a little playtime. We have to work on Friday, and we're in the middle of the Bible belt. I reckon it just depends who you work for and how many holidays they choose to give you. Loretta, enjoy your extra events at church! Sorry to hear the crappie have fizzled out, but I'm sure your DH is enjoying being out on the lake anyways. DSisIL said the ice is off the lakes up in MN, so her DH is talking about getting out the waders and checking his favorite spots. I know it won't be long before he tries to drown a minnow ![]() Barb, kinda surprises me that the school has an inservice on Friday. Our schools here are off today and tomorrow, reckon the districts are different too. It must be feeling like countdown time for the end of the term for you now that spring is really here. How many kids actually have the 'day's left countdown' on their folders? That was always a big thing for us when we were kids! Not much news here, all is well in our little corner of the world. We've even brought some of the hardier plants out of the gh (cactus and succulents we'd like to sell) and will most likely do some digging in the ground this weekend to change a few things. Hope all are well and content!

Actually, with Prom this weekend also, they are down on the football field right now for a mock accident thingy. They just love all that blood and gore stuff and I don't know if it stops anyone from drinking and driving.
Yes, Ginny, the seniors keep track of the days!! And......the teachers!! ![]() |

Hello ladies; Happy Easter weekend to you all. We r off Good Friday, but my dd has to work. She's doing well... for now. She got evicted and is now boarding between friends place and grandma's house. She doesn't want to come here because of my dh. He is one of the least compassionate people I know. We've had some serious 'attorney' talk. I know that I have faults and I'm not always the most popular kid in the sandbox, BUT I do have compassion and a kind heart. Two qualities that are NOT found in my dh. He has agreed to 'try'. The choice was his - make it work or time for us to part ways. He wants and loves me, but falls short in this area where my dd is concerned. It's hard for him to believe she is sick. He just thinks her life is a series of poor choices.
Bi-Polar is such a malicious disease. BUT, for now 'he's trying' she's getting her life in order (kinda) and she is still in love with the father of her child. Her fiance just got full time employement and he had to move back to his mother's place. So they both fell on their A$$ (butts) and I think (hope) it was a real eye opener for them both. I still leave allot of this in God's hands and I'm there in a heart beat when she needs me - but I thank God everyday for all of the miracles that have come our way. I know she is safe. My littlest DD is making her first communion on May 21st and this Saturday will be the studio portraits. She's getting an updo and I've treated my oldest dd as well with a total makeover; hair, pedicure, facial, message, new clothes, jewelery and makeup. We are all going to get our pictures taken with our littlest angel. Grandma is also coming, I'm so excited. Loretta, your church is so nice. I had asked our priest if we could decorate or if I could join a decorating committee and he said that it wasn't a good idea. Oh well, it's his church, I just thought it would look nice for this easter week.I've been experimenting with some lc recipes I found on one of the sites. They r pretty good. I'm going to make a spicey chili thai shrimp tomorrow. I bought some squid as well to toss in the mix. I've never cooked it before. Anyone got any tips? Boil? stir fry? Liz |

Hi everyone,
DH and I are back from our little jaunt to Gettysburg. We had a nice, relaxing time and stayed on plan. Loretta, Your church is so lovely. I like the simplicity of it. I bet your yellow suit is lovely and will look really good on you. Do you have shoes to match? Sorry about the Crappie. I hope it's just a temporary situation. Does anyone stock the lake? Barb, before I retired, I always worked Good Friday. People don't take a day off from being physically or mentally ill. Our schools did close on Wed. and most will be back in business on Monday. LOL the only place I see Easter Bonnets is in NYC in the Easter Parade. The last time I actually had one on was when I was 12. Ginny, I'm surprised that your company didn't give you all the day off, especially since you are in the middle of the bible belt. How nice that you are able to get out and work in the yard. Hopefully you will be sharing some nice pictures with us this year. Are you near where the bear attack happened? I hope they find that predator bear and kill it ASAP. Once they have a taste for human blood, they will become even more dangerous. Liz, My heart goes out to you and your DD. It's good that you are there for support but we all need to remember not to enable any negative behaviors. We will be anxious to see some pictures of you and your family all dolled up. Post them as soon as you can. I'm off to go for a long walk and then hit the home improvement store. We came home to a black ant problem , so I need to do something about it quickly. |
