Hey gang,

All is well here, if there were any nasty storms they went around us. We had some good rains and a little thunder/lightning, but that's about it for us. A couple more cool nights and we should be completely in SPRING!!!

Congratulations Loretta on your win! That's great! I have always been a fast walker too, and it is hard for me to slow it down especially when I'm on a mission! Keep us posted on your DH's upcoming surgery, poor guy. Hope you get that boat in the water for him to have some fun fishing time!

Barb, I thought about using free weights, but am worried that I'd hurt myself by not using proper technique or position.... I know with the bench setup I can do a lot of things without making a sore back etc. Now, the rest of the muscles will be a different story! I'm looking forward to having the contraption set up, right now it needs a good cleaning as it was stored in gf's shed. I should be lookin' good soon!

JackiB, welcome! Congrats on your maintaining, you look great! Everyone has to work this plan individually since there are so many factors involved. It does take some time to get it all figured out, but looks like you're there!

Liz, I love fajitas too, and generally eat them without the tortillas. I don't care much for most breads any more, it has to be something pretty special. How do you feel since you've done the fast?

Linda, did you get the new stove all hooked up yet? Are you starting to warm up at all?

Hope all are having a good Monday......off for a lurk then hit the shower.

Hi to all

We did not get any damage from the storm but it sure was all around us. There were many warnings and some tornado siteings. Very windy today also.
Company arrived on the tail winds of the storm but did not have to alter their course.

Here is a picture of DIL< DS<Leah and Grannie after the Tater Trot race.

Being able to come in first has gotten me fired up to keep at it and to push myself a little harder. I have surprised myself. Thanks for the congrats. That amazed me during the race that people would give encouragment at they passed: "Great job" "Keep up the good work" That was inspiring. Just as here too on the bbs people give each other encouragment to keep up the good work. It does make a difference.

Lordy, I missed the entire weekend. Sorry. Been busy with my new little "project".

The new range side panels came in and DH was going to put them in on Sat. However we went to the RV show. Sunday, things just got away from us so he is finishing up now.
I finally found some nice flat bottom stainless pans and am anxious to try them out.

Thank heavens you are OK Ginny. I was really worried. My God that was an awful line of storms. My friend Ciel, in AK just got missed too. Not too far from her there were a few dead.
Any update on the house hunting?

Barb, More water and less coffee, eh? LIL I wish I could give up some of my coffee. I drink 2 to 3 in the morning, one or two in the afternoon, one with dinner and one later while watching the news. Fortunately caffeine doesn't bother me. YET

HEY Loretta, CONGRATULATIONS ON THAT WIN Way to go girl. Keep us posted on your DH. We all worry.

Waving to the rest of our gang.

Sleepless night, so came to post. Yesterday was busy at work, didn't get time for much. Loretta could see Leah, but your DIL and DS were shaded by the Sun. You look like your pumped. Ready to take on the world

I'm going to try to start some form of exercise - you've inspired me to get healthy (or at least give it a try). I fasted for the soul, now it's time to get the body in shape on the outside too.

My fasting experience was good, but I don't think I'll do it again. I'm right back to 135 and I'm disgusted how clean I eat. NOT ONE 'ILLEGAL' CHEAT. Sure I put guacamole on my fajhita and sour cream, but I counted it?? I haven't had one sweet or lc treat i.e. my frozen lc pudding snacks etc.

Here was my big cheat today - yogurt for 10 carbs for my total carb count of 30. This makes me want to pop the top of a pringles can!

Can any of you post a sample menu so that I may possibly follow along? What do you think are your total carbs in a day? Now JB has me questioning why can't I enjoy fruit? Sept I know 1 piece i.e. apple or something is well over 20 carbs and I can't get past that. I'm thinking of throwing caution to the wind and doing something like this:
B-hard boiled egg and coffee
s- apple
L- lc left over's from dinner and some crunchy celery or something
s-yogurt
D-lc dinner i.e. last night was a chili dog without bun (homemade) and salad
TOTAL CARBS= APROX 55-60

What do you all think? Am I crazy? Will I mess it up? I'm so tired of seeing people who are eating 100 carbs a day and I'm stuck at 20 to 30. It's not fair

Loretta, love that picture of you, your DS, DDL and that little doll, Leah.

Liz, some of us post our menus on the Golden bb. Check it out.

Hey gang,

Got the home gym set up on Wednesday and did some testing to make sure all was working. Yesterday was the start of me working out, and today I did a little more. DH made me a temporary lat bar so I have that to work with as well. Now I just need to get an ankle cuff and I'll be all set. I'm starting slow so I don't get too sore, but I can feel it!

Hope all are having a good week!

Hello Gang,

Running by while I have a few moments.

I am terribly out of control, been eating too many carbs.

Have "the belly" back.

I think I am up to 141lbs on DS's scales.

I keep forgetting to weigh me first thing in the a.m.

Things are slowly improving, so we are making progress.

I do think I will be down here at least another month.
I may just have to apply for a green card...LOL!
I think if I will take a shift or too at the hospital they will give me one after a years service or something like that.

I have had to cancel my groups and work has been really fine with all this.

Linda, I went to that site and posted under "keeping moving" Julies thread.

I am hoping to be back full strength with Y'all soon!

DD and family arrive tomorrow as does my DH, they will have two weeks and we will spend Easter together. I am so looking forward to them coming down, even though I know it will mean more work for me.

Hugs to Y'all.

Susan

Ginny, good for you getting your own home gym. Let us know how it goes.

Susan, now get yourself back on the wagon. You don't want to start all over again. Nip it in the bud NOW, girl. You can do it.

Susan -- you did this before and you felt good! Think about that!

Ginny, I'm glad that you have your contraption put together. I took a weight lifting class years ago just to learn proper form. Believe me, there are so many out there that I see doing wrong things for their body.

How was the doctor appointment - Linda?
