New to this board, looking for help
Hi everyone!
I chose this board over others because it looks very down to earth. I am hoping to get some support/advice/feedback from anyone who cares to share, and I'm happy to give in return where I can. I know quite a bit about Atkins, this is my second time around, and I have learned quite a bit. I am 5'9'', goal weight is 160. I have been on induction since beginning on Feb 2. Prior to this, my exercise was zero. Now, I have added light jogging, weight lifting, pilates and I'm increasing where I can. I won't call my workouts HEAVY, but they are regular. Here is what has been going on (and please look carefully...) Started Feb 2, 2006 @ 195 lbs Week one (didn't measure) 189.6 Week two (didn't measure) 187 Week three (waist 35/hips 46) 186.6 Week four (waist 33/hips 46) 187.6 Week five (waist 32.5/hips 45) 187.4 {began taking vitamins} Week six (waist 32/hips 44.5) 188.4 I am aware that muscle weighs more than fat, but there has to be a time when the scale catches up. It's getting very, very frustrating for me. My husband tells me to be happy with my loss, but it's not close to what I was expecting, for the amount of work that I have been putting in. I have just had my thyroid checked, and there is no problem there. I am now increasing my exercise, but am starting to wonder if Atkins is continuing to work, or is it just my exercise? Where's the "whoosh" that I keep reading about?? Does anyone have any feedback for me? Ginger Cakes ![]() |

You might find more feed back on the Main board. This maintain lane is extremely slow lately.
I'm a long time Atkins maintainer, a goldie ( AKA old broad), and don't do much exercise, but I have maintained a weight loss of 55 lbs for over 8 years. Then I quit smoking. UGH. I gained 16 lbs back and found out that my thyroid is blown. I'm back to almost induction levels. Just keep on keeping legal and you should do fine. |

Well thanks for not leaving me hanging.
I'll cut and paste and put it on the main board, and keep it legal. Thanks, Ginger ![]() |
