Tuesday the 28th for Maintainers

Hey gang,

Yesterday was up and running, never did get time to post before work and was too whupped to even check emails afterwards.

Ok, here's the scoop. DH and I have lived here on this corner (albeit in the country) for 14 years. This corner has gotten busier and busier and it's just going to get worse. They're building a 100+ home subdivision about a mile up the road from us. Add into that the store across the street has a lot of traffic, and they open at 5 a.m., so in the summer, sleeping with the windows open is NOT an option with car doors slamming over there and people conversing etc. Then, we have the added joy of an individual not keeping her %&^%$#@ dog home and it thrives on agitating ours as well as the other dogs that ARE kept up. It's to the point where if we took our dogs into our yard that isn't fenced (or even give them a run in the pasture, which is always supervised) we would have to worry that if they saw this dog they would NOT listen to us and whup her @ss. We don't know if she's had any shots, nor will I put my dogs in harms way via them getting in the road or maybe her getting a bite in. I do think they'd probably kill this dog. Anyways, between the noise, traffic and inconsiderate neighbor, it's time for us to find a quieter chunk of land. We also want to situate ourselves for the years to come re home maintenance issues. We would love to find 2-5 acres and build a new greenhouse (with all we've learned from our current one, there would be modifications!) have a garage, and most likely bring in a doublewide and place it on a permanent foundation. Since they're making doublewides so well now, they are a very viable option for this part of the country. Anyways, that's what we're hoping to do. I would (and so would DH) love to be set up in a new place where we don't have to fix/modify an existing home, and have it set up for the eventuality of potential physical needs as we age. Everything on one floor is definitely a priority! So, we're starting the process, and I came across a feller that works part time as a real estate agent as well as for the co. I do, and have a good feeling about him. He came out Friday to look at our place and meet with us to find out what we're looking for.

And that, my friends, is the rest of the story!

Barb, good luck with your new arrivals! Your job sounds very challenging, keep those kids out of secluded classrooms!

Julie, hope this lung thing clears up quickly for you. Steroids are notorious for making people ravenous and can also make one ill tempered.

Linda, brrrrr for y'all, but we are getting closer to spring! We are supposed to be close to 60 today I think

Susan, been thinking about you!

Off for a little lurk and then time to hit the shower,

Yes Ginny, I think we are all thinking about that aging process and one floor, etc. Sounds like a deal to me and sorry about that urban sprawl.

How are you doing Julie -- can I donate an extra lung to you?

Linda, upped those carbs yet? It's fun to add those in......

Susan, Loretta, take care!

Oh Ginny, I wish you and Steve the very best of luck finding just what you want.
It's so darn difficult to deal with intruding neighbors and their pets. Not to mention the increasing traffic.
A one floor, low maintenance, new place sounds like just the thing for you. Please keep us posted.

Barb, yes I upped the carbs a bit but will not eat bad ones. I have used some flax baked goods and berries. Today I did have a slice of whole wheat toast at the little diner my mom and I went to.

Julie, hope that new inhaler is working out OK for you.

Loretta, we are thinking of you and hope your DH's tests came out fine.

Waving to lurkers.

Susan, continued

Thanks Ginny for the update. I agree that place has got to be vacated ASAP.
Good luck finding just the right place.

Barb, how's it going at school? Home? You never mention home and DH.

Linda, I hope the upping of carbs will work for you.

Really feeling shi!!y today. Went bowling but almost didn't make it to the end. I came home really exhausted and actually feel so much worse today than yesterday. Damn it, I'm really tired of complaining. Sorry gang. I almost didn't even post.

Old, old friend died and just found out about it. I hate memorials and funerals but this one I won't miss.

Off to go lay down. Keeping our SuSun in our thoughts and prayers.
