Hi and Good Morning. Check out that article on maintaining and the scale. I used to weigh in just monthly. My weight crept up about 4 pounds in one month, since then I weigh in weekly. Maybe I need daily but it has been ok for the past year. I don't want to get obscessed with MR. SCALE.

WEDNESDAY'S MAINTAINER MENU
  • 1/2 decaf black coffee, 4 cups all day
Brunch: 5 carb yogurt w cinnamon & chopped walnuts
    1:30: nuked apple w cinnamon topped w 2 tbs 5 carb yogurt
4:00: 3 homemade almond flour cookies
psyllium fiber in 8 ounces water
6:00: spagetti sauce over cabbage noodles
2 cups mixed greens, fresh veggies, 2 T lc poppyseed drsg
    6 oz wine
Snack: 2 slices 30% less fat bacon, CF diet soda

Walk/jog 2.5 miles. Exercise workout upper and lower body 30 min.
Being retired sure makes this exercise part easier.

Ginny I won't get a treadmill but just walk as usual outside. IF I bundle up using the layer system I can stay pretty warm. How is the exercise for you with your more sedentary job now? Does the work place have any facilities?

Julie, yes I am cooking turkey dinner on T day. Just DH's daugher and some of her family. IT will be a small group. Friday I will be going to my local sons for another turkey dinner. My oldest too will be coming in from Chicago. Looking forward to both of my Thanksgivings.

Linda have you ever deep fried a turkey. From all the reports they are very good, but I have not tasted one. What do you do about the gravey and stuffing without that bird in the oven??? Enjoy your get togethers.

Mornin' gang!

Brrr...cold here again. Sure am glad I work INSIDE now! We had a change in plans for T-day, not going to the buffet. The friends we get together with are going to have the dinner on Friday (but I have to work, sigh) so DH will go and bring my contributions. I'll miss seeing the gang, but will see everyone on Saturday. My waistline doesn't really mind so much since I won't be exposed to all the high carb foods.

Loretta, that article is so true. I'm another stubborn one as well, but being able to hang out with y'all has definitely helped keep me honest. I did maintain for a couple years before I found this site, so I'm sure I could have done it, but this keeps it fresher in my mind.

Linda, what was that about M & M's in your pocket? Did y'all get any of the sneaux predicted? Have you looked for the stretchy-tube thing yet? I do mine a couple times a week, hooked to the doorknob in my office. They look at me a little funny, but what the hell!

Julie, too bad the hairstyle didn't work out as expected. I like mine easy too, that's why I grew it out. I have really fine hair that has just enough natural curl to give me attitude and be a PITA, so the clip or ponytail is my best defense! I'm a wash, brush and go person now, I'd hate to have to dry, curl and do all that other stuff!

Barb, have a safe, fun time this weekend! Will your DD be off work for most of it?

Off for a little lurk, then time to get moving........

Hi everyone, we just got home from my SIL's Thanksgiving Dinner party. Nice time but boy do they all talk loud. My head hurts. LOL

Loretta, sorry about that weight creep. It can do that sometimes. I can sympathize too since I just can't get this darn 8 lbs off. Maybe weighing once a day for a short time is the answer.

Yes I did fry a turkey and wasn't impressed much at all. Oh it was quick and the turkey was moist with nice crispy skin, but there is no way to make gravy or stuffing, so I don't think I'll bother doing it again.

Enjoy both of your Thanksgivings.

Ginny, Oh darn it. Sorry you aren't going out to the buffet AND missing your friends dinner. What will you do for dinner tomorrow or will you treat it as just another day? Sometimes I would just like to chuck these holidays and pretend they are just another day.

No we didn't get much snow at all. Maybe an inch or two and that's it. Down off this hill, there were only flurries.

LOL When I was working and FAT, I used to carry M & M's in my pocket and munch them off and on all day. After work I used to LOVE beer and popcorn. Gee I wonder where all that weight came from.

Off for a lurk too.
