Leaving Atkins without weight gain

My friend has been on induction for about three weeks and really likes it coz she's dropped some pounds and its not a stupid fad diet. Unfortunetely, her lifestlye has changed way to much to allow for her to do atkins
* She's just been offered a high paid wine tasting job and wants to accept it ( but there goes phase 2)
* She loves to eat fruit and vegetables and can't live without her 5 or more servings a day ( recommended daily intake)
* She's been working on her family tree and noticed a lot of heart problems within both sides of her family and the risk of heart attacks is very strong so she's been advised not to eat too much fat and cholestrol ( which sadly rules out atkins!)
*She and her husband have just bought a fruit orchard and so theres no running from the carbs!!!
*She's mostly vegetarian so all the meat in this diet does nothing for her.....
She's happy enough to go back to low calorie ( or other) diet but she's worried that she'll GAIN weight while she's switching back from atkins. what should she do to keep losing while she switches over and NOT gain!

Thanks.....=)
By the way...this is my progress: Haven't eaten anything expect induction foods since 9pm last night and it's 2pm now......Are having some sugar cravings but I will get through this!!!!

Hi Sugarpie

I'll try to address each of your friends problems.
1. Wine tasting Just how much will she be tasting each day. I doubt if it adds up to a lot of wine intake.
2. Fruit and vegetables. Servings can be mostly veggies with a little fruit. There are fruits allowed after induction. Veggies are encouraged.
3. Heart problems on the family tree: I also have hyperlipidemia and I follow a low carb and low fat way of eating with being able to keep the weight off that I have lost.
My cholesterol report is wonderful with all things in ratio.
4. Just because they have bought a fruit orchard does not mean that she has to overindulge in fruits, what are they?
5. Vegatarian, does she eat eggs?. She does need some protein in her diet. Chicken, fish??? Are they included or are they a no, no? I am not that familar with an all vegetarian way of life. Others must be able to do it without a weight problem. in fact those that I have seen are quite thin.

How much weight does she need to lose? Does she need to be under a doctors supervision because of all of her "conditions."??

Let us know what your friend decides.
