Loretta, I hear that Madisonville was hit by storms -- how about you guys over at the lake?

We see gliders often here -- of course our hills are higher!!

Not much going on here -- will check in tonight.

Hey y'all,

All's well here, just turning cold. Yuck. Guess we couldn't hold on to the 70's any longer.

Trying to wake up.......

There were several tornados in the area yesterday. Lots of damage in our local town where DS lives, about 10 miles away from us. They did not have any damage. Moblile homes destroyed and one death from that. Damage also at a local marina, campers and the marina dock. We were quite lucky. We did not even lose power. Phone circuits were tied up and I could not get on the internet at all. We had our disignated "place" to go to if the storm got rough here, but it did not.

It is cold and windy here today with sunshine.

Not a lot going on otherwise. Will start on some house cleaning and turkey prep work.

Glad to hear all of you are ok. The front just moved through here and boy it's going to get cold and snow tonight.

Still sitting here at this darn 8 lbs over goal weight and not budging even though I'm not eating much at all. Maybe I should increase my carbs a bit.

anyhoo, thought you might get a kick out of this. It gives new meaning to the term "bad ass"

This may be a first...

A couple from Montana were out riding on the range, he with his rifle and she (fortunately) with her camera. Their dogs always followed them, but on this occasion a Mountain Lion decided that he wanted to stalk the dogs (you'll see the dogs in the background watching). Very, very bad decision...

The hunter got off the mule with his rifle and decided to shoot in the air to scare away the lion, but before he could get off a shot the lion charged in and decided he wanted a piece of those dogs. With that, the mule took off and decided he wanted a piece of that lion. That's when all hell broke loose... for the lion.

As the lion approached the dogs the mule snatched him up by the tail and started whirling him around. Banging its head on the ground on every pass. Then he dropped it, stomped on it and held it to the ground by the throat. The mule then got down on his knees and bit the thing all over a couple of dozen times to make sure it was dead, than whipped it into the air again, walked back over to the couple (that were stunned in silence) and stood there ready to continue his ride... as if nothing had just happened.

Fortunately even though the hunter didn't get off a shot, his wife got off these 4...

Donkeys are very 'protective' animals.
That is why you usually see a herd of cattle or horses with one lone donkey hanging around somewhere. In our area Coyotes prey on newborn livestock.
They are very agressive animals and its not out of the ordinary for something like this to occur.
