Work sounds good for you Ginny. We do Secret Santa also and I always like the gag gifts.

I just got our family gift exchange. We are such a big group - this is nice so I only have to get one thing.

Hey gang,

Looks like today will be the last pretty day for a while. They're saying we are gonna get storms tomorrow and then it will get cold again.

DR and his wife will be here this weekend for a visit! Sure will be good to see them, it's been quite a while since they've been here.

Hope all are having a happy, contented day......y'all check in when you can!

I attended a conference called A Day of Wisdom yesterday. Our life expectancy should be 120 years. Will you look at that as a blessing or a curse???? if you make it. The general concensus is that people don't want to age at all or accept any form of suffering. Society on the whole makes aging look like a "bad" thing.

We need to be bearers of the wisdom age has given us and provide a wondeful example of aging the right way to our children and grand children.

We have lots of tornado warnings up for today in the general area. Warm here but temps getting very cold tonigh. Guess we might get more normal temps. for this time of year.

Barb that family exchange of gifts is a good way to go. Do they give you a clue as to what to get? That would help. Will you get together with most of the family at Christmas. Hard to get everyone's schedules to work.

Ginny have a nice visit with DR and wife. Will they eat low carb? IT is such an easy woe to "fit in". I find it that way.

OH I'm here finally. Been a hell of a day. Yahoo has slowed to a snails pace and takes forever to open, send and delete that I finally just switched all of my boards and news letter sites to my OE e mail. I don't like that but at least I can open it quickly.

Anyway, I just created a pretty good egg plant dish. Just cut one up in small pieces and dice a small sweet onion, sauté for a bit in olive oil and red wine vinegar. Then add some crushed tomatoes, two packets of splenda and a couple of garlic cloves and let simmer for about 2 hrs. Not bad at all for a nice side dish or even cold as a dip for pork rinds and almond crisps.

Barb, we did the name picks for a couple of years back in the 70's before we gave it up completely. Not too bad that way.

He is taking lessons and only goes off a hill for now. LOL I can just see him in a couple of months jumping off tall buildings. He saw them jumping off hotels on the beach in NC.OY!!

Ginny, I hope all is well there. I heard there was a tornado in Tenn. this evening. Stay safe.
How far away does DR live? Enjoy the visit.

Loretta, you stay safe too. Gosh the weather is just awful lately.

HA!! There is no way I want to live that long. I wouldn't mind living a nice long life if I were healthy and able to do for myself but not to 120 yrs.
