Sunday for the CCM's
Norning everyone!
Good weather here after the last snow storm passed -- rather mild also. the mountains look pretty though with the fresh white stuff. I'm NOT cooking either for Thanksgiving - YAHOO! We are driving over to Denver to visit DD and take in the Denver malls, Natural History Museum (I could spend days there) and eat at some neat places. We used to live south of Denver a tad and it's old stomping grounds. Julie, too bad you promised - but have fun doing it. How's "life" with anyone else? I think people just get too busy and forget us! Have a great "sun" day and watch some football and yell at the TV -- does the soul good! ![]()

Hey gang!
Whew, been a busy couple days here. Friday I had to go in early for a staff meeting/lunch, but that meant I got to go home earlier too. Then, yesterday we went to Atlanta for the orchid show. Since gas has come down, we decided to make the run there. It was the best Atlanta show I think we've been to, and we came home with some new 'chids, as usual Today we'll get them repotted, watch some football/scream at the tv, and I'll make my weekly run to WW later this evening.Barb, I think our game will be ugly, we play the Giants today. For some reason, the Vikings can't get past that team. Your boys will have a tough one too. I think we'll need extra of these Loretta, not sure what we'll be doing for Thanksgiving, but most likely will spend the day here ourselves. I'll either make lasagne or enchiladas, either one makes some good leftovers! Depending on where the 'family' gathering is during the weekend we may have a dinner to go to as well. Linda, restaurant style is the way to go IMO, especially if you have a bunch to cook for. Our gatherings include many who love to cook, so I doubt it will happen for us but at least I'll only have to bring a dish or 2! Julie, how's Bo doing? Has the collar come off yet? Yikes on all that cooking... be sure to make everyone help you with the CLEAN UP! Off for a little lurk, then hit the shower!

Hi
Cooking here for Thanksgiving. Having DstepD from Paducah. It will be a small gathering. Friday my DS #2 is cooking, he has to work on Thanksgiving. My oldest son will be coming down too. But my youngest will be in Orlando having Turkey with Mickey Mouse. I like cooking at home because of the left overs. Great stuff. Ginny glad you got to an orkid show and found some new treasures to add to the collection. Hope the Vikings give you a nice suprise today. Dh has been watching TONS of football. But it does seem like a short season to me. Baseball is much longer. Barb that sounds like a nice mini vacation you will be celebrating along with Turkey Day. Will you go Christmas shopping on the day after TD? Some of my younger neices and DILs make that an annual tradition. Julie will your DD be coming over for Thanksgiving? Is she over her shingles? The 10,000 minute challange is going quite well over on the G. WTG. Linda glad that your weather has moderated some. We finally got some rain last night 0.3. But we will take anything we get. How big will your group be by the time you get to the buffet? Sounds like a nice "small crowd". Have a great Sunday all. Be Happy. Don't yell too much at those players. Hi to the rest or our gang.

![]() Loretta, The boy's will be coming over for Thanksg. dinner plus Nick will be here too. So that makes only 9 for dinner. Although Ann, said she might stop for dessert afterwards. Not sure what time that might be or if any of her brothers will be still be here or not. So, mentally I'm doing good. Whoever comes, comes..not my problem anymore. Am even off my Wellbutrin! I'm resolved to have a good holiday season this year. Making plans for 2 of our best couple friends to go out for dinner on Christmas Eve this year. Shingles will take some time to get over. Last time I talked to her a few days ago, some have crusted up but you know they can still pop up with more. I think they caught it too late but hope they don't last for months or years like my dads. Ginny, I'm a very fortunate woman...DH has always done the clean up after a big dinner. He is a living doll! How many orchkids did you come home with? Barb, You're Thanksg. sounds fun and relaxed. We have skiing open on out Mt tops already. It's amazing this weather we've been having. Best get dressed and get ready to watch the Seahawks beat the he!! out of St. Louis! Go Hawks!

Let's see.... the Vikes beat the Giants, Seattle is whupping up on St. Louis and Green Bay is ahead in Atlanta, looks like the holler factor will be in the GOOD holler! I may slide this week in the football pool standings, went with the Giants (very strange the boys beat them) and so far have one other upset. We'll see how many others missed picks. I was tied for first after last weekend.
Off to lurk a bit....... |

Hi gang, one last day of good weather in this neck of the woods and now the rain has started. This week a real bad cold front will head in and cause some problems. UGH!! Oh well, at least we have a new, large snow blower in the shed ready to go.
Barb, LOVE to see those mountains with snow on them. They are magnificent!! Glad you don't have to cook either and we will want a full report on that wonderful trip of yours, including restaurant reviews Ginny, there are people who love to cook in your family? Guess you are fortunate that you don't have to do much.So how much is gas in your neck of the woods? Cheapest I saw it here was $2.39 in NY but just across the border in PA, it's $2.13. We will be wanting pictures of the new chids when you get a chance. Loretta, it's good that you are having a small gathering and not some huge labor intensive feast. That wears one out. Will everyone gather at your DS's house on Friday? How nice. Bet you are glad you taught him to cook, eh? Yeah, leftovers are good so we cook a turkey and make a few things to go with it like homemade cranberry sauce and guar gum gravy. Maybe some turnips, squash and green beans along with a crust less pumpkin pie too. At least I don't need to set the table, clean up and do all that other work associated with a big dinner. There are only going to be 8 of us at the buffet. Everyone else has in laws to go to. Julie, So I guess it's raining there? Sorry but at least it isn't snow although it must be snowing in the mountains, eh? We can't let our kids problems and issues ruin our lives. They need to take responsibility for themselves. I'm off for a little lurk and then read before bed. Waving to our MIA's. Last edited by LoveMontana : 11-13-2005 at 07:24 PM. |
