Thanks Barb. Yes, there were tornados but not right here, but over where my DS and his family live in Evansville, In. He called me this morning to say they were ok but have no power. He does not have any damage. We had a light rain and some gusty winds but not much of anything else in our area.
It is a beautiful day here and the upcoming week promises more of the same weather. I am tired of water the flowers, they are still alive since we have not had a frost yet. Hope you gals get to check in today. I am sorely missing you all. Drats, no Sunday paper yet and it is after 11 am. A new carrier is on the route. I like my Sunday paper in the morning. SO spoiled are we.

Hi Barb and everyone.
Yes I'm getting really worried about Loretta and hope she is OK. How about Ginny? Is she in the area too? The front is headed our way and will hit sometime this afternoon or evening. UGH, I really don't want to lose power again. Moms will be here for another low carb dinner so we may very well have overnight guests. I'm off to get batteries, flash lights, etc and extra linens ready just in case. |

Another goregous day up here!
I think we are in for wind and rain latter today. Need to get out for my daily WALK soon. Barb, How is your weather, did you say the white stuff is flying already over there? Has your daughter had some time off yet? Linda Thanks for the advice on the DSIL's visit, it sure is dampening my mood today. She gets in tonight. Enjoy your din dins with the Moms tonight! Loretta, Glad to hear you and your Family are all safe! Ginny, Hmmmm? Lumber on the shopping list! What plans do you have for all that wood? A change from the office routine on the weekends huh? Jacki, What project are you busying yourself with today? HUGS to All, ![]() Last edited by SuSUN : 11-06-2005 at 11:45 AM. |

I'm glad you are ok and DS -- I thought you had mentioned Evansville before.
Back to Sunday dinner's Linda? We'll be watching for storms going that way. DD is in Denver for her clinical and we are on the other side of the mountain -- about 6 hr. drive. We are going over for Thanksgiving. She is in acute care now and much busier. The weekends are free but the days are long. Swedish Hospotal is one of the top neuro places in the area so they get a lot of spinal cord/accidents, etc. Susan, the snow was flying in the mountains this weekend and closed the main artery I-70 going through the mountains east/west. If Vail Pass is closed - then it's winter! football is calling.......

Hey y'all,
WOOHOO GOOOOOO VIKINGS!!! Just love it when they stomp a division rival So far this week I'm 8-1 on the football picks, hoping to keep a good thing going with the late games. As of last week, I'm in 2nd place. Wouldn't the guys just cry if I won it?Loretta, glad you and yours are safe! We didn't have any bad weather at all today, it's been downright gorgeous! The next few days look like they'll be really nice too for us. Just love Indian Summer. Linda, hope you won't need the batteries, candles etc. Still, better to be prepared! So, what's for dinner? I've got some roast on the grill, and hope it will be done in the next hour or 2. Starting to get hungry! Susan, any time I find a deal like that on building materials I just buy it. DH will find a use for all that over time, so I'm not worried about storing it in the shed. I was pretty proud of my find Don't let DSIL get to you..... just smile and excuse yourself, get out her voodoo doll and put pins in it!Jacki, yuck on the storms y'all are having... time for some good stuff in the crockpot? Barb, looks like your Packers are putting up a fight today. Am I hearing you holler at that tv yet or was that someone else from the west LOL! I didn't realize you were that far from Denver, will you fly there or make the drive for Turkey Day? Hope your DD is enjoying her clinicals, I'm sure they're running her ragged, but she can really learn a TON there it sounds like. Off to check the roast.......

Susan, hang tough girl. You can do it and just ignore her. SMILE and grit your teeth and spend as little time with her as is possible.
Barb, how long does it usually take the road crews to open that Vail Pass? Boy there must be lots of over time in a job like that. I understand there are quite a few great hospitals in Denver. National Jewish has world wide recognition for asthma treatment. We are only going to have the moms here once in a while. I got burned out doing it every week. Ginny, What kind of roast do you have on the grill? I can never get one tender enough on mine. Even the London broils are rather chewy. We had meatloaf that Gerard made, but I wanted Ham. I will win the the next time. Come on the rest of you, check in will ya? |

Now that I have had a chance to see some of the news that was really a bad storm over there in In. Ds still was without power and no promise of it returning soon.
Linda having company for dinner every Sunday would get to be too much. Once a month will work better or maybe once everyother month. Meat loaf is a great idea, I will do that soon. I tried the Carbquik on my liver dumplings for the chicken soup and NO Way. They were no where near the real dumplings. But my Peach Cobbler turned out great. Ginny hope that roast was good. I rarely cook a roast on the grill. Steaks mainly and occasionally some ribs. Susun hope all is going well there with DD and the company Catch you all tomorrow Last edited by Loretta V : 11-06-2005 at 06:39 PM. |

Glad to see "the gang" check in!
Nasty weather out there for some of you. I managed about 45 mins on my Walk, had to cut it short due to the downpour and lightening, got a soaking but dried off nicely at home. Ginny, Hilarious on the vodoo doll, that sure gave me a much needed chuckle. Thanks for that. I'll keep that in mind to get me through the next few days. Stay Safe Y'all! ![]() |
