Morning gang - beautiful Fall day here and I'm appreciating every day I have.
Susan, set the tone and control the visit yourself. I have learned that over the years with relatives. The first time I suggested my MIL stay at the near-by motel as our guest, I thought my DH was going to die. But, in the end, every visit turned out When you run out of rooms to clean Linda, I'll expect you!! SUCH AMBITION! Waving to all........ ![]() |

Hi to all
Beautiful fall day here with cooler temps and leaves falling all around. DH and I will go up to the high school today for our flu shots. They are having a drive thru clinic there for those on medicare. First time for "drive thru". We will see. Susun sometimes I plan on how I will handle a situation with family and it never seems to turn out as planned. My one DIL is a challange to me and she ususally ends up "yelling" at me. I keep trying for the sake of peace in the family. She is just "who she is" and others just try not to be in her presence. I'd rather keep trying instead of ignoring her in fairness to my son and the DGKids. Good work on getting those pounds off. SLow but sure and patience is the answer. Barb, how true to appreciate every day we get. Sometimes, others deaths are grim reminders of how much we have to be thankful for. Seems like doing the dishes after supper is getting me lately. I just try to think of those displaced people without even a sink or a dish to call their own. Linda you sure have lots of "cleaning" energy. Mrs Clean, I guess we could call you. I got both of our family cars washed and waxed last week, plus fertilized the lawn, put out some grass seed and lime too. I am taking today and tomorrow off. I have to admit I was feeling a little achy in the back yesterday. Now I can rest easy this winter. Hey to the rest of the bunch.

Hey everyone!
It was a good week at work, learning more bits and pieces as I go along and I guess the oddest thing to learn is how to explaing the benefits while using an interpreter. We have a large Somali populace in that area as well as the Spanish speaking people too. Some speak very little English so they do require a translator to be able to understand the more technical aspects. We're muddling through tho, and the translators are doing a great job working with me. One point at a time! Like most company sponsored insurance plans, once you're signed up you have to have a family status change (birth, death of dependent, marriage, divorce, adoption, loss of spouse coverage etc) where you are allowed to make changes to your plan. Annually, most places will have Open Enrollment, where you can change from one plan to the other, add in dependents that were missed in the status change time period, and make any other changes that you want. I'm not sure how it all goes down as this will be my first time doing it, but I think we'll be pretty busy since there are @ 900 people employed at our facility. There are bound to be many questions! I've found that there are many different aspects of the plan that different people have questions on, whether it's how the deductible works, co-insurance, dental--and that goes across the board for all the different cultures of people we have there. I'm sure it will be a challenge to get everything done with the open enrollment plus the groups with new hires eligible! Loretta, awwww, my heart goes out to your DS and family re their pup! It's so hard to do, making that decision, but you KNOW when you have to do it. We nursed Bub along for quite a while, but when he did finally tell us he was ready to go there was nothing we could do but honor his wishes. I don't know if this will help them, but my thoughts are that when pets pass, they will be with the others who have passed before them... whether human or animal, and we will see them again when it's our turn. My Bub is most likely with DH's Dad (they were pretty close when Dad would visit) getting spoiled rotten. Please send them my sympathy. You are one ambitious lady, getting those vehicles all spiffed up for the upcoming winter! Take it easy now, and rest that sore back! Julie, how is Bo doing? What was that spot on his leg? I know what you mean about a house being too quiet... you really listen for the furbabies toenails on the floors, or just their shifting around! The unexpected cold nose or invitation to play/snuggle that can happen at any time is glaringly missing when the furkid is absent. Hope he heals quickly and is back to himself really soon! Linda, I'm closer, so when you're done with your house please swing down here and get mine. What snacks do you want in the fridge??? We have a HUGE afgan that we use in the winter on our bed, and as big as it is, it still fits in the washer/dryer just fine. Will have to get it cleaned up soon I reckon! We're supposed to see the upper 30's fairly soon at night. Ugh. Susan, good for you doing that walking! Enjoy your sunshine and dress in layers according to the temps! Is Oliver starting to hibernate yet? Barb, hope you're doing better... and good thoughts your way.Jacki, how is the healing process going? Can you eat 'normal' foods yet? Off for a little lurk, then start putzing around here. I hope to gag a few lollies today too!

Hi everyone. Whewww....sure glad to have the work week over. I'm still doing the lead job as the lead cook's dealing with a failing mom in hospice. My heart aches for the family...it's so hard. Anyway...all went smooth at work this week but there are some aspects of the job that I'm unfamiliar with. It's working out tho.
Ginny....goodness your job sounds very interesting. All the different kinds of folks you get to meet with. And it sounds complicated dealing with all the particulars of different coverages and such. Hat's off to your brains gal! The greenhouse is DONE!! I put most of my deck plants in it yesterday. I need to do some cutting back and organizing in it. Roy needs to put up a couple bars to hang plants and I need to get my gorilla shelves down from upstairs and put out there. It will be much better then. I'll do that today. the yellow stuff is spray in expandable foam to seal it off. Ugly but efficient. There's nothing more complicated that dealing with family matters. It's never simple is it? I have a.....a......DIL....I mean cancerous growth...no, DIL from he*l. Can't stand her....don't want to stand her...will never stand her. Actually that sounds rather simple doesn't it. Nothing complicated about it. Really, it does complicate matters to feel that way and try to deal with a son that has lots of his own problems...and I feel she is the major complication in his overcoming his problems. So....I may laugh at my situation with this dil...but it's to keep from crying over the mess my son's life is in. Nothing simple. My heart goes out to all y'all with difficult families. Loretta, I'm sorry to hear of the of your son's dog. Coming to the end decision breaks your heart. My prayers to them. I've recouped well from the oral surgery. Monday I go in for a check up on it. Still not chewing on that side for a while but all is well. Hugs to all. |

Hi Gang,
I promised I'd be back! I managed a 55 minute walk, no rain yet. I did some invisible arm and shoulder weights and thinking about some stomach crunches later. Gotta get some chores done around here.Jacki, What a cute gh! I can see she is held together well. I think we all need some of that expandable foam sometimes to hold us together. Ginny, WTGG! on transferring tricky info thru an interpreter!Yes, Oliver avoids going out when it is cold, early mornin or late at night, so he manages to hold on till it warms up a tad outdoors. His coat is not thick enough yet, then he flies South and sheds it again. Poor baby. Linda, Where are YOU? Cleaning up another storm? Gotta get me some of the energy. Loretta, Yikes, car washing, it would freeze the water up here today. Good fer you getting your Flu shot today! I got mine this week too. SuSUN |

Crawling in for a few minutes and then back to my book on the couch. LOL this ol broad HURTS!!
LMAO gang, sure I'll come and clean for all of you. I eat like a horse though so be prepared. Anything but a strong tasting fish is OK with me.Susan, it is lovely weather but we have rain now and lots of it. How about you? Poor Oliver, I can't say as I blame him for not wanting to go out in the cold. Hey Barb, you are my kind of people. I don't let many people stay here either and would never put up with my MIL. Grandkids are OK though. Oh and you people are welcome any time. ![]() I don't stay with others either. We like our privacy. Enjoy your beautiful fall mountain weather. Loretta, I'm anxious to hear about that drive through flu shot clinic. Did you get to actually stay in the car? You must be a SAINT to put up with that DIL. YIKES!! I can't believe she YELLS at you. OY!! What does your son say about that? You did plenty of work washing and waxing those cars and doing the lawn work. Geez. I hurt for ya too. Ginny, That is a big company that you work for with 900 employees. My gosh do those translators work full time and how many are there? That must be very challenging and interesting. We hit the upper thirty's this week at night so I put the winter comforter on the bed. Slept in socks a few nights too. Jackie, love that gh. It's going to be very nice for you when you get the shelves and such in there. Now we want some interior pictures. Julie, where are you today? Hi to Shawnee, Patty, Roger, lurkers. |

ALL RIGHT JACKI!!!!! Woohoo, gal that greenhouse is great! You're gonna love it this winter, go hang with the plants when it's cold out AND get some sunshine!
No family problems here (anymore). One SIL is a *ahem* money grubbing such-and-such, but thankfully will not talk to us after a big blow up over 15 years ago. It's a jealousy thing partly, and I'm very proud to be THINNER than her by quite a bit {insert snark here lol} yes, I can be catty too. Loretta and Linda, sounds like you 2 need to grab a couple warm beverages and recline according to which area aches. Pop a couple asprin (or choice pain reliever) and let the men wait on YOU! Off for another little lurk. Gagging lollies right now ![]() |
