CCM Maintainers - Thursday: 10-20

I've just attended two funerals and just can't cry anymore so I have a tendency to just withdraw.

I did get some answers thought for why good people die. They are ok - whether you believe in after life/heaven/hell and all that -- but their dying does affect other's lives. Some people will change because of this experience and that's the good in it! It's the only answer I have heard that makes any sense.

It's also ok to be alone. Not every event has to be a social one. I'm picking out my island as I speak!

Ginny, good going on the new job. I hope you and your computer will have many happy, productive , and "working" days ahead . Computers are great WHEN they work! LOL

Will gradually catch up here........

DD is traveling right now from Maine back to the Denver area. I'm nervous as hell worried about an accident. She is now in NE and heading this way today. So far so good except for "hating" the traffic in Chicago area and getting lost in Cleveland area trying to take a short cut. She will be doing a clinical for PT at Swedish Hospital there until Xmas and then head for Oregon. back west... .... thank god ..... it's difficult being in "strange, foreign lands"

Greetings to all today....... later!

Hi Barb and welcome back. I have missed hearing from you.
Sorry to hear about the loss of your friends. I really don't think there is much comfort to be found even if one believes in life after death.
The best we can do is celebrate the person that has died, life. Their memories can sustain us somewhat. And

The living must go forward.
Hope your DD has a safe trip and stays in contact with you on the way. Thanks goodness for cell phones.

Susun you are really getting into the swing of things there with your exercise. When will the dreaded SIL arrive? Don't mean to get you started. NOt sure when I will get around to trying out my flour, maybe next week when it cools off here. Thanks for the family complements. Wish they were a little closer to my in distance.

Ginny hope you are on the computer now and hard at it with those benefits.

Linda will you get to shop for that bike today? Did you get your lights out?
Thanks for the compliments on those DGKs. Hard to beleive that I have that many. Adam will most likely be the last, but you never know. Hope Gerard enjoys his hang gliding class and falls softly or however it is that they land.

Got to get the car wax out today. warm again low 80s.

Hey gang,

I finally got computer access yesterday! I have no idea where the original email went with my temp passwords, but it never showed up at the office Anyways, things are falling into place.

Barb, my sympathy to you, hon! There's nothing anyone can say to help with the pain of loss. My only thought is to celebrate the lives of those who've passed, that would be the best memorial to them.

Loretta, I'll pass you my keys to the truck, but I'd be scared it would fall apart if the dust that's holding it together got washed away LOL! We're gonna cool down soon, so enjoy the pretty weather.

Linda, have y'all dried out yet? How did G's new hobby go?

Gotta get a move on........

Barb, you have been missed sweetie but not gone from our thoughts. Try to enjoy the memories you had together. They say, life goes on but it's never the same. Just know we are here if you feel like venting and if you need space and solitude, take it. Take all the time you need.

Linda, so G managed to make it home for dinner last night? That must have made you happy!

Loretta, low 80's? My gosh girl, do you guy's ever get "fall" there? Summer to winter?? Wax? My gosh you have the energy of the E bunney!

SuSun, sorry I couldn't find the fat blob but I deleted it out of my computer one day I was "puter" cleaning. Have no idea where it went. Can you have a mental pic of it! It was real ugly and yellow. Ewwwww
Sounds like you have a great beginning to losing the weight. How much do you plan to lose anyway?

I'm going to enjoy our sunny fall day. Oops, clouds are slowly coming in. Not much going on around here.

Just a quick check in tonight for me.

Gerard is still thinking about that Hang Glider class and will take more lessons. It's hard to judge how you are going to like it on the first day.

I just made two batches of those Almond Crackers that Loretta told us about over on the Golden. My God, they are good.

Barb, my heart goes out to you on the loss of your friends. It's so difficult but warm memories will replace the awful grief down the road. In the mean time, try to take good care of yourself.

Oh your poor DD. That area around Chicago is just awful! I try like the devil to avoid it and have found a few side roads that help. Cleveland is another story all together. Not many "short" cuts there.

Loretta, I can't thank you enough for pointing me in the direction of that Almond cracker recipe. They are wonderful!!

I do so miss Shawnee and her creative recipes. Hope she is doing OK.

Naw, no bike shopping today. I never made it to Sears. LOL mental block on exercise??? Instead I took my mom for a long drive to leaf peep and stopped off at a huge pumpkin farm with lots of displays and some really strange critters made from pumpkins. Cute.

Susan, yes when will that dreaded SIL arrive? Just remember to keep your mouth closed around your dd. You won't regret it.

Ginny, Well it's about time you finally got computer access. Hope it makes things easier for you and I sincerely hope you enjoy that job.

Keep us posted.

Julie, Hope you get to enjoy some sunshine. It was a perfect day here but a bit on the cool side.

Waving to the rest of our gang.

HI Gang!

Sorry a bit late tonight, DD and her DH went to spinning class, it is just usually DD but he wanted to try it too. So they left here around 9p.m after they had supper with us. Ella is a little handful but growing quite affection and loving.

Dearest Barb,
My sincere sympathy on the loss of your dear friends. I withdraw too when I am hurt, so take your time to resume to normal.
I read recently that a life if measured in special moments not in time. I hope you had many special moments with your dear friends.

Thinking of your DD as she travels across unknown territory.
BTW, DD went to the Swedish for 4 IVF treatments. We flew in each time for a 2 week stay, it became quite expensive in the end. It was wonderful to see Denver and the surrounding towns but always a sad outcome for DD. WE did have some "special moments" there though. I always stayed with her giving her the injections and support, as her DH could not take all that time off work.

Linda,
DSIL arrives on Nov 7th until Nov 26th. I am used to grinning and bearing it, a bit of a passive-aggressive. Blow up rarely but when I do!
Anyway, I getting prepared.
You certainly have changed your sleeping habits, early to bed, early to rise!

Loretta,
That is a shame your family are so far away but I am sure you will see them at passtimes and holidays.

Ginny,
Glad you got some puter priviliges now! I guess they figured it out, they need you to do some work there.

Julie,
Thanks for looking for that Fat Blob arm muscles thingy. I will check the Challenge bb when I have more time.

Waving to the rest of our Gang!

Me again!

DH is watching a movie so no Law and Order or CSI for me tonight. The tape will keep!

Linda, so far I've used the 'stretchy tube thingy' 3 out of 4 nights while on lunch. It does work the muscles, and I've done more than what's on the instruction sheet...kinda invented my own. I may get the short one as well, as I'm trying to work the abs/waistline area the most and think I can get some more accomplished with it too. It's a pretty cheap way to get some muscle work in.

Susan, good luck with the DreadedSIL visit.... just appear enough times to be polite and then go home and enjoy yourself! Is your DH close to her?

Julie, around here, we do have 4 seasons, just that 3 of them are faster than summer! Leaves are starting to turn here now and we're supposed to cool off. I'm sure that Wilma will kick up some rain for us (needed) so that may make us cool and damp which equals brrrrrrr.

Loretta, I'll have one more class to attend, not sure when, and then I'll have the HR side of the 'puter system accessible. As for now, we're headed to open enrollment so I'm sure I'll stay plenty busy with what I have. I think they may prefer I do some work there LOL!

Barb, so how far has DD gotten in her trip? Racking up the miles on that new car, huh! Wishing her a safe and uneventful journey AND her mom not to worry

Off for a little lurk.......
