Sunday, Oct. 16 for the MVM/CCM group

or what's left of us.

Dreary day around here again. That little taste of sunshine yesterday got our hopes up but kicked us back down today.

I bought another set of scales because mine were getting really old and said I weighed 75 lbs even after I changed the battery.
I picked up a new scale about a month ago but couldn't read the darn numbers even with my glasses on, so this one is much better.

Anyway I'm still sitting right there with that darn 8 lbs of no smoking weight sitting on my hips.

DD and I had a falling out last week ( should have bit my tongue) about her lack of a good job and her not looking hard enough, so she said she is going to pack up her dog and herself, abandon the money pit of a house and head off to Florida.
That girl needs some serious mental health help. Hopefully she will change her mind and stay here but if not, I'm going to try to talk her into a limited power of attorney so I can at least sell that house for her.
Geezz, she doesn't know a soul down there and plans on staying in a Motel while she looks for a job and an apartment.
Don't know what I can do to stop her or get her to change her mind.

Sorry for the long whine but I feel better getting it out.

Hi Linda and those that follow

Sorry to hear about your daughter and her "strong will" My oldest son is like that. He is a bachelor and lives beyond his means and will NEVER get his finances just right. He will always be short. It just seems odd to have one out of the bunch of kids not to be able to "get it together" Hope it all works out well.
I don't live close to Adam at all Linda. They live over 100 miles away and it is a drive of over 4 hours to come and go. Their "real grandma" lives in the city near them and they see a lot of her.

I hear DH rumbling around in the kitchen getting my Sunday breakfast ready.
Will check back in later.

Leah and her dad went to visit Adam.

Breakfast was great. Eggs, bacon, rye bread. That man makes a mean breakfast.

Good Sunday to our small but faithful group,

Yes, Linda it is cloudy and cool up here today.Grey skies, but gotta get out soon as Ella is coming at 4p.m. for a few hours.

Linda,
So sorry to hear about your DD and her decision to leave town. Does she mean it, or is it just a cry for help.
I have just been learning a hard lesson, "to let go"...I am not there yet, but it is quite liberating the bits that I have "let go of."
As Mothers I think we try "to save" our kids from themselves at our expense.
I totally feel for you Linda.

Loretta,
What a lovely picture of Leah with Adam. She is a little lady now all grown up.
She looks adorable in pink.
Sounds like you got a good DH there cooking breakfast for you.

I did manage 3 bottles of WATER yesterday, not the 64oz as planned but more than I usually drink.

Starting day 2, has gone well so far. The appetite is coming under control now with low carbing. The high protein and fats are keeping me full. Happy with myself so far.

Waving to the rest of our gang!

SuSUN

Oh Linda, how I sympathize with you. I sure can understand every word you say and even in between those lines. Maybe she would do better being away from everybody. Who knows but she just might have to try it.

Money!! The root of all evil. I never understood how 2 of my kids can handle money just fine and my DD lives on the edge every minute of her life. At least she hasn't asked for a loan for a few years. Good thing! DH and I save and spend wisely I think. Always put some in savings, paid the bills, bought foood and if any was left over, then yippee! Maybe that's old way of thinking, who knows.

Guess we'll never figure out our kids! Linda, just know I'm thinking of you and if you want to vent, email me and let it out. Cuz, you know I've been there, done that!

Crap, computer will shut down when my update is completed. So will go for now. Have a good day.

Loretta, Leah and Adam's pic is so darling. Avatar is cute too.

Am back. Windows update. Wonder what it was. Anybody know how to find out which update it was? Suppose if I go to "Microsoft windows update" it might tell me.

SuSun, it is one of the hardest things to do...LETTING GO! I'm doing better with Nick but still want to tell him what to do.

Of, off to finish my bike workout. to all!

Me again. We had the BEST pork roast today for dinner and I'm thinking about having some after I post this. My brother and his wife just left. They came over to have a beer and chit chat. It was nice.

Loretta, so what time is breakfast next Sunday? That sounds great to me. Especially the part about having someone else make it.

OMG Leah is getting so big!! Bet she just loved that baby. She is such a little doll as is Adam. I could just HUG them both.

Yeah, kids and money

Susan, hope you had a good time with Ella. How about an updated picture?

Susan and Julie, believe me I let go years ago and always taught those 4 to stand on their own two feet. She has always been quite independent and managed money quite well until she didn't get called back to her construction job this season. Seems the Union President "visited" her several times this winter and she told him NO to his sexual advances. She should have pressed sexual harassment charges , but didn't think it was necessary. Now look at what happened.

Julie, Kids and money, money and kids. Geezzzz. and thanks for the support. I may take you up on that and maybe even call you.
Yes go to Windows Update and look it up. It's in there. Don't you have your automatic critical updates scheduled for a time when you are sleeping? That makes it easy.

Ginny, Your job training sounds quite thorough so I'm sure you will be able to do a great job helping those people with their benefit decisions.
Good idea to get that tube thingy for lunch time workouts too. Desk jobs are not very physically demanding.

I'm not sure what the official total of rain here was but it was constant and steady. Thank heavens the rivers and streams were very dry otherwise we would have had floods again.
